Portugal's record compares quite well with Italy's, and they beat them in the qualifying round. Germany v France France won the Under 17 World Cup last October (Germany finished 4th), but it sounds as though they were out-played by Spain in the first game on Tuesday. They could still be good value here at the latest odds of 6.0, and they do have a pretty good record against Germany here (two draws and a 1-0 defeat in the last 3 meetings at U17 level). Portugal failed to score in their first two games. Now they have to beat England to stand any chance of qualifying. England lost to Italy, then beat Austria despite Austria having most of the game, to put them within a point of qualifying. I think England will probably have enough confidence and momentum to get at least a point from this game. If Portugal can raise their attacking game, they could be good value at odds of over 4.0. In theory, there could be late goals in this game, with both sides needing something. For some reason, only 3 bookies are offering odds for this match, and there are no odds for 'overs', which is the only bet I might consider. This one is a No Bet for me. Group A Italy U17 v Austria U17 Italy have qualified. Austria have to win to stand a chance Italy have been the best team in the group so far, beating England and Portugal without conceding a goal. Austria were defensive against Portugal, getting a 0-0 draw, and then dominated the game against England, but lost 2-1. I think there is a good chance that Italy will rest some first choice players in this game, and I wonder how seriously they will take the result as they have already qualified. So there is possible value on Austria at the latest odds of over 5.0. But if Italy are on their defensive game, I think Austria might find it hard to score and could be vulnerable to Italy on the counter. So much depends on Italy's approach to this game. No Bet for me.

Spain v England Spain seem to be the stand-out team in this tournament. They didn't conceded a goal in the group games (England conceded three). Spain also have a good record in this tournament, with 2 wins and a runners-up place. I'm tempted to back Spain for the straight win at 1.71 (Spain -0.5 with sbobet). But the England manager Lois Fidler seems to doing a good job with the England side. Scotland managed a 0-0 draw with Spain in the group stage, and I think England are probably a match for Scotland. So this makes me cautious. I think Spain should win by 1 or 2 goals but it's a No Bet for me, although I'll be following the game in-play. The losing teams in these two semi-finals might not be too disappointed because the winner of the 3rd place playoff on Sunday qualifies for the Under 17 World Cup, which is a big prize.
