I think Southend look like decent value early on away at Fratton Park. Many fans including myself are astonished we're languishing where we are because mid table would have been our worst case scenario at this stage. There is quite a bit of dissent towards Guy Whittingham that has been building for a while now and the only real positive we can take from yesterdays loss is that Tom Craddock scored. What's worrying the most is that despite getting gates around the 15 - 16K mark we've still failed to turn our home ground into a fortress. Defensively we're still all at sea too and another goalkeeping howler was responsible for one goal we conceded against Scunthorpe. Southend are doing well and have won four on the bounce, conceding only once. They have done well to cope with injuries and suspension. Especially given the absence of Freddy Eastwood and the early season injury suffered by Julian Bennett. Team news wise, Freddy Eastwood may return for them after being out for a month. Midfielder Kevan Hurst will be suspended after being sent off against York however, fellow midfielder Connor Clifford returns following his own three game suspension. Defender Ryan Leonard should be available after missing Saturday but Southend have plenty of options after signing defender Rob Kiernan on loan for three months from Wigan, as well as striker Cauley Woodrow on loan for the season from Fulham. I wouldn't mind backing cards in this fixture either as neither team are unfamiliar with being shown their fair share of cards. I'd also expect us to get quite frustrated as Southend are well organised and have the tightest defence in League Two for a reason.

Pompey have sacked Whittingham this afternoon. A strange one as he took the usual pre game press conference at 1PM. Its not a surprising decision though as the team was booed off against Scunthorpe and he had been coming under a lot of flak. I'd say this just goes to cement the Southend pick.

Re: Sky Bet League 2 > Tuesday November 26th Torquay v Plymouth A local derby in the south west. Plymouth are much the bigger club, and have a pretty good record at Torquay, having won two and drawn two in their last five league visits. Plymouth are also in much better form than Torquay, and the odds are just about worth backing - Plymouth AH0 1.89 BetVictor
