Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 Not a very elegantly presented thread, I'm afraid. Prices straight from Betway and some very interesting stuff in there.
Nobby's Nuts
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 I saw Corby in the first game v Mickleover. Corby were 2-0 up after about 7 mins yet were hanging on for a 3-3 and Mickleover were kicking themselves that they didn't finish the job. Should have won about 5-3 or 6-3 OK, replay went to form and Mickleover are no great shakes, but if Corby's defence is as bad as when I saw them, then Trafford must be a fair price, given that they both play at the same level. Darran
Ships will say more but we are both backing Bridgewater to beat bath. Sent from my GT-I8190N using PL Forum
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 Arlesey Town away at Hampton & Richmond Borough (8/5 BetVics) A closely matched tie, certainly, but Arlesey look a bit too streetwise to me - wins over Bashley, Frome and Redditch on the road suggest a side that can skewer weaker opponents. Hampton have some decent progressive players - Charlie Moone is a cut above, Jordan Rocastle has had some good cameo moments - and Justyn Roberts adds some experience at the back, but all in all the problem is the same as last season (despite a new management team): incoherent, strategy-less performances that means they can't play with much confidence. Visitors this season have usually sat back and weathered the gentle breeze that H&R muster, and wait for the inevitable opportunities to come. While Hampton have had some tough games at home, I think Arlesey are value. Bridgwater Town at home to Bath City (29/10 BetVics) The wonderful initial price at Betway (5.0) has gone but there is still a touch of value. Unbeaten Bridgwater do concede, but they're unbeaten this season and Richard Fey has a capable, experienced side at his disposal. They had the luxury of resting a few bodies for the midweek Trophy replay. Bath are favourites but they're in insipid form, with three consecutive defeats and three consecutive blanks, and they won't be fancying this one. Cirencester Town at home to Weymouth (19/10 Betway, BetVics) Another big initial price at Betway (3.3), and another powerful Step 4 side on a good run (unbeaten since August). Brian Hughes has plenty of higher-level experience in his ranks. There's nothing particularly wrong with Weymouth this season, but they have their misfiring moments and I don't think the squad is quite strong enough to justify such favouritism. Modjadji
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 Not sure how many Bridgwater rested for the replay, but I was there, and they looked very, very average. We are 3rd from bottom with only 4 points and played them off the pitch from start to finish. I'd be extremely wary about backing them based on what I saw, not to mention the game went to extra time and penalties so tiredness must be a factor. But only six of the starting XI at Chalfont for the first match started on Tuesday. I don't think they were taking the replay with Chalfont with anything more than token seriousness and that fact that they came up trumps with a rotated side is probably an argument in favour of their strength in depth. As I say, Bath are favourites by some margin but I wouldn't read too much into Tuesday.
bromsgrovegreen
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 i cant get the price for Halesowen town away at northern leaguers marske, Halesowen have a half decent side this season and are two levels above marske, to be priced up as they are marske must be a very good side but at 8-5 halesowen have to be value imo
Plankton Boy
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 Be wary that Marske have won 13 from 16 games in all competitions this season. Isn't the Northern League renowned for being strong for the level?
bromsgrovegreen
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 yes its a very strong league regularly producing the vase winners but gotta have Halesowen at the odds
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > FA Cup 3rd Qualifiers Oct 12-13 Poor from me with all three cup plays failing - despite a goal start Arlesey were very poor today.
