As DannyWest has pointed out in an earlier thread, there do seem to be some strange things going on the Southern 1 S&W - two of my top five are very low on the list. I doubt there'll be much business on Swindon Super, who've lost their best two players, Godalming Town, who've lost their best 15 players (to Slough), and Guildford City, who are operating on a trimmed budget. Lots to discuss...

It's likely just a case of not wanting to give pointers to compilers elsewhere but it's unlikely we'll see any more prices (apart from Betway's win-only phantoms) so it's safe to start talking.

I fancy both teams to challenge towards the top with Tiverton my favourites for the league. Both clubs have added well over the summer, Wimborne stating their intention to have a real go at promotion, whilst Tivvy are also rumoured to have a very healthy budget under their new manager. My other tips for the top five in what could be a very competitive league are Merthyr, Paulton, Clevedon, Bridgwater, Taunton and Mangotsfield.

Excellent shouts, Danny. Tivvy at 33s is a potentially very interesting play, even though the management is something of an unknown quantity. Agree that Wimborne are nothing like 40s - James Stokoe is back and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more Bashley players follow. Really, really hard to pick a winner, but I'd go for Taunton Town. I agree that Mangotsfield United look strong, too.

Re: England > Antepost > Northern, Southern, Ryman Step 4s 2013/2014 I've not had much chance to post on the antepost Step 4, but I'll post some random thoughts although it's unlikely I'll be match betting down here this season since Bwin no longer like the colour of my money. Northern 1 North Darlington 1883 have been backed into 2/1F and I can’t see past them, though they are no longer much value – the initial 5s was an excellent play and one of my naps down here. Martin Gray has a side packed full of talent – they did well against a full-strength Gateshead last weekend and have plenty of momentum. It’s very competitive behind them, with Curzon Ashton, Farsley Celtic, Kendal Town and Northwich Vics all looking strong. Burscough have drifted to 20s and they’re a decent EW shout, although it's not one I've taken. Northern 1 South Coalville Town have been backed into favourites now (4s from an initial 6s), and the signings of Mitchell Piggon and Kevin Charlery will help regain some momentum from a campaign that promised so much. Peter Duffield’s Belper Town also look decent and are a touch of value at 8s now - I have had some of that. Rags Rainworth MW are available at 40s and with a new set-up there they could go well. They will be much stronger than last season and they could bother the top five. Southern Central Plenty of money on Slough Town, who’ve basically signed the Godalming Town side from last season. Regulars here will know I was recommending unfancied Godalming last season EW at 20s and Slough will surely go well, though the price is prohibitive (a bad start and the fans will turn after so many changes). But my money has been heading towards Royston Town (once 12s, now 6s). Paul Attfield’s side looks very strong and this is a club with ambitions, and the crop of ex-Cambridge City boys there brings higher-level experience that no other club here can boast. Southern South & West Another very competitive section. I’ve gone with Taunton Town to win – an initial 16 and still value at the available 10s. Leigh Robinson’s side looks much stronger than last season and there are a host of winners on the pitch. Nat Pepperell and Jamie Price look like excellent bits of business. Tiverton Town were highlighted by DannyWest at the initial 33s and backed into 6s – a massive price given their summer overhaul, which passed the compilers by. The caveat is that John Clarkson, the new boss, is something of an unknown quantity, but they can make the top three and that 33s was a cracking piece of business. Ryman 1 North I picked AFC Sudbury last season, and they were soon cast adrift in a blizzard of cost-cutting and mediocre performances. This season’s squad under David Batch looks really sharp, with plenty of higher-level experience. They’ve been backed into favouritism at 6s (the initial price of 16s was very likeable). Sudbury, along with Darlo, are the naps for the Step 4s. Heybridge Swifts are 9s (from 8s) and they look a good EW shout still – Luke Callender staying is a huge boost. Ryman 1 South A really tricky section, with some decent ‘nearly there’ sides’ and a wildcard in Guernsey. I can’t honestly see the islanders coping too well with the travelling regime and I think the best speculative play was Merstham, available at 33s. Hayden Bird has assembled a decent squad, but they are in to 10s now and not really value at that mark. It'll just be Bwin, I think. Having said that they haven't priced up the Ryman 1s for tomorrow yet. As for views on the Northern Prem 1 outrights, I've some words above.

Could be that they're not doing them this season or the trader could be waiting until there's some form to go on.
