EPGA: BMW International - June 20-23

Recommended Posts

Pablo Larrazabal @ 36 Betfair I've been watching Pablo all year and at times his golf is simply sublime. He's had a number of poor final rounds which has cost him when in contention but like Ilonen before his win at the Nordea, I think all these close calls are leading up to the big one. This is also the ideal place IMO for Larrazabal to get that win. He's won this event before, as well as having another Top 5 result, a tournament trend that Ilonen also displayed as a previous winner of the Nordea Masters. Furthermore, a lot of the favourites are coming off the US Open, where the long flight and tough nature of the event surely work in the favour of those who didn't attend. For mine Larrazabal is a stand out bet.

Re: EPGA: BMW International - June 20-23 Tournament preview: 1pt ew T.Bjorn to win BMW International Open 30/1 Stan James (1/4 1-6) Thomas Bjorn has won this tournament twice. That was a long time ago but he comes into this week in good form. He is striking the ball well and his putter is pretty hot at the minute. Three of the Dane’s last four starts have resulted in top 10 finishes and he was in the top 10 in this tournament last year, albeit on a different course. Having won twice around here we know the course suits, he’s hitting it well and he wasn’t involved in the US Open last week which should be a bonus and at 30/1 for the 6 places he looks a good bet this weekend. Re: EPGA: BMW International - June 20-23 Third round preview: 4pts R-J.Derksen to beat J.Campillo 21/20 Skybet Robert-Jan Derksen has been very good from tee to green this week. He is ranked in the top five in driving accuracy and greens in regulation but the only reason he isn’t further up the leaderboard is a cold putter. However he is giving himself plenty of chances and eventually the putts will start falling but even if they don’t, unless Campillo tightens up from tee to green this course will get him eventually. Derksen has two top 10’s around here in the past so he goes well on the course and he can go better than the Spaniard on Saturday. Re: EPGA: BMW International - June 20-23 Final round preview: 4pts M.Kaymer to beat M.Siem 10/11 Boylesports Martin Kaymer is playing much better golf tee to green than Marcel Siem and with the Sunday pins likely to be the hardest of the week that can play into the Ryder Cup star’s hands. Kaymer lies second in greens in regulation in this tournament so he is leaving himself a lot of chances to make scores and if his putter can catch fire then not only is Kaymer a good thing in this two ball but he might yet make an impact on the top of the leaderboard.
