Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 Posted straight from Betway's site. Although I have my own set of prices and I can see spots of value in here, it's too early to comment - as it really would signal to other compilers what they should be doing. Prices for the South are also available at Betway but I am having a problem posting them directly here. The market leaders are: Ebbsfleet - 4.5 Eastleigh - 5.0 Dover - 8.0 Chelmsford 9.0 Sutton - 11.0 Once again, my own favourite is not theirs. Final comment is that Betway's limits on these markets are shamelessly cowardly.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014

Think bracket or guisesley are nailed on' date=' best to bet on both to win that league[/quote'] If you fancy those two, I'd certainly wait for better prices. There is a case of Brackley, who should continue the good work of last season, though they need to add some creativity. Guiseley have lost too many bodies and look set for a transitional season.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 I agree brackley should carry on from last season, they started off like a train and tailed off xd guilsley for me may need a few new names and be up there, altringham have a great attack as well but the winner of in my opinion is coming from these two sides. Following the lower leagues is fun, if only there were people who had more information to keep me up to date!

Following the lower leagues is fun' date=' if only there were people who had more information to keep me up to date![/quote'] There's always here, of course! Non-league gamblers are a small community but the collective efforts of the punters here uncover some gems week in, week out. In the end, every gambler has to take responsibility for their own bets, but Punter's Lounge is certainly a good starting place (not just the non-league threads, of course, but the other leagues have some superb tipsters and there is always useful advice available on strategies and managing money). Frankly, there isn't anything else out there as one-stop shop for non-league gambling. Over the years there have been a few pisspoor attempts at starting a paid-for service, but those guys never last long. There are a number of occasionally updated WordPress referral sites and a growing number of Twitter non-league specialists, but you have to squint pretty hard to discern any quality (and keep your radar tuned to reveal those on Twitter who love the idea of being a tipster rather than actually making a profit). Use the non-league news sites and local papers for player movements, official sites for match reports, fans' forums to find news and to take a reading of sentiment (though be aware that forums often represent just a small and vocal constituency among the fan base), and look at Twitter for any snippets that players have to offer.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 Corals Step 2 prices are out, and their North offering has Telford a long way ahead of the field at 3s, with Stockport at 11/2 and Guiseley and Alty at 9s. They're shortest so far about Boston (20s) and longest about Gainsborough (40s).

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 Guys , how well do you think Stockport will do and is around 5/1 still value. Also how do you rate Alty's chances at around 10/1 ? my dark horses are Bradford PA at 20's but i would like to find out their odds for promotion but cant seem to find it. Does anyone know when odds for NPL are given ? Cant wait for the new season :)

Welcome to the PL non-league threads, Lawn Guy. I'm guessing promotion prices will be out in the next week or so. As usual I'm getting different answers from the bookies as to when the Step 3 prices are out but I doubt if it will be for a few weeks. There are split opinions on Stockport - it's a question of balancing the fact that they're a new side with the natural advantage of a big support. My own take is that their energetic early summer team building was partly inspired by the thought that they were going to stay up. Playoffs at best for me, and I really can't seem them finishing ahead of Telford. I bagged some of Alty at the initial 12s EW: I don't think they'll have enough to win it but there's a good chance they'll be second. I think Bradford PA will go okay but won't trouble the top of the pile - they did superbly last season but haven't shown any great ambition to push on. Having said that, I believe the budget is unchanged this season, which is actually a comparative increase compared to most of the sides around them. Even so, the squad doesn't look deep enough for a sustained campaign.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 AFC Telford all the way for me. After a couple of seasons of looking rather rudderless and without a proper strategy, they have changed course dramatically post-relegation in appointing Liam Watson - one of the best managers you can get your hands on at this level. He has an excellent track record of grabbing a club by the scuff of its neck and turning out sides that get results: he’s done it at Southport a couple of times and Burscough, and has shown he can manage his team through pressure situations. I’ve an in-built wariness of new squads, even ones packed with quality and with a number of players who know what is expected of them, but I’m prepared to back Telford this time. Watson has brought in a number of familiar faces from his Southport days, including the highly effective Andy Owens, Chris Lever and Simon Grand. Tony Gray arrives knowing what Watson will want and after operating successfully at Chester last season, from where Matty McGinn, Wes Baines and Sean Clancy also arrive. Two stand-outs from a very decent AFC Fylde in Sean Cooke and Adam Farrell should easily make the step up. It’s hard to say whether this is the best Conference North side ever but it’ll certainly be the hardest working in the section and there’s more than enough talent to put a gloss on all the spade work. The price? Given that Betway’s initial show of 9.0 proved a phantom price (at least for me), a best now of 10/3 looks deeply unattractive alongside it, but in truth it’s still further out than my price. I will definitely include them in some league accas, and for the moment I’ve contented myself with some win doubles with Eastleigh in the South. It’s a long campaign of course, and a crop of injuries can take their toll, so if Telford do show signs of vulnerability, the best-placed outfit to take advantage from my point of view is Altrincham. Lee Sinnott’s side showed a healthy improvement through the season as the defence settled down and gave the talent in the side – of which there is much – a platform on which to express itself. They are going to miss Duncan Watmore but the signings are on the solid side of the equation, and that’s really what Alty need – Danny Boshell, James Walshaw, Carl Rodgers and Mike Williams have good pedigree, and Kyle Perry offers something they didn’t have up front last season. I took the initial 12s EW and the existing 10s is okay. It gets tougher after that. Guiseley it shouldn’t be forgotten went reasonably close last season (I clearly underrated them last summer), but I sense that they won’t quite be able to sustain such a challenge this time. With Walshaw and the Boshells gone, along with the excellent Josh Wilson, I don’t think they’re nearly as strong, though I’d expect them to go well enough. The same sentiment – they’ll do well but not quite as well as last season - also fits for Brackley Town, I feel. They are a good side, if a little one-dimensional, and I wonder if they can push on. That fact that they didn’t want to compete with Oxford City for Tom Winters signature is a little surprising, even given events down the road. Stockport – extremely unlucky not to be reprieved as events at Aldershot play out - have made some excellent signings under Ian Bogie, who is an underrated manager I think it’s fair to say. Phil Jevons and Ian Craney have been catching the headlines but Kyle Jacobs is a good signing from FCUM and Kristian Dennis is another raw gem. Though there is work to do, the squad is starting to take shape and there’s a nice balance already apparent. What puts me off, though, is that it is a new squad with plenty of work still to do. While there are obvious parallels with what Telford are doing, I think Telford will be up to speed more quickly simply because Watson’s model has been tried and tested. A best of 11/2 is unattractive on the outrights, though they’ve a reasonable chance of the play-offs. There are a lot of outfits who can claim some improvement. Harrogate Town have brought in good talent, with Tommy Wright and Craig Nelthorpe among it, but perhaps it’s Anton Brown who represents the best bit of business. For me, they need more forward options and there’ll be some pressure on Simon Weaver to make the best of a competitive budget. Boston United have signed a few bodies and will surely improve under Dennis Greene, but perhaps they are a season away from a playoff challenge, though I can see 33s appealing to some (better was available initially). One real outsider I do like the look of is Solihull Moors. They’ve been putting in solid shifts under Marcus Bignot and have added a bit of quality over the summer (though they’ve lost Dior Angus). By the sound of things, the club is being run on a much more professional footing these days and with a real focus on improving rather than holding their own. I took some of the 50s EW that was available a few weeks ago, but this is highly speculative and I’m struggling to see them top three, though I think they could be surprise play-off contenders. Oxford City have a ‘Wall Street’ CEO these days, though which part of Wall Street he comes from isn’t clear. A quick Google search adds some interesting colour to the life of Mr Guerriero, and it’s really hard to fathom what is going on. In the circumstances, 20s should be a good EW price, and with a couple of decent bodies coming in from Worcester City the squad looks stronger than last season and if events off the field remain stable they’ll probably be in or around the playoffs. Big if, though, and I’m happy to swerve. Barrow have a fair bit of work to do on a tight budget and the squad will take time to settle, while the promoted sides all look pretty decent. Leamington and Hednesford Town look capable of consolidating with something to spare, and the same goes for North Ferriby United, who are well back financially and have brought in some very decent players, including Nathan Jarman from Chester. I can’t see them challenging come the business end of things, but they have a chance of grabbing a play-off place. I’ve a top five of AFC Telford, Altrincham, Stockport County, Solihull Moors and North Ferriby United. Betting wise, I've backed AFC Telford in a win double with Eastleigh, and taken Altrincham and Solihull Moors EW.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 I really like the look of AFC Telford to bounce back at the first time of asking. Liam Watson has taken the step-down having been manager of Southport until he quit at the end of the season and he is a massive plus for Telford’s title bid. He has already won the league with Southport and he has added to the squad well over the summer. Telford were awful for most of last season, but I fully expect a completely different side this time around and they look to have a side capable of winning the league. A best price of 3/1 is fair and worth taking. Stockport also have a manager who has got a side out of the league in Ian Bogie and obviously will have the biggest support in the division. They have made some decent signings and they should be capable of getting into the play-offs, but I think Telford look the stronger. Guiseley did well last year to finish second, but they look weaker this time around and I am not even sure they will get in the play-offs. Altrincham and Brackley are in the other losing play-off teams from last season, but again I am not sure either are capable of making that step-up to challenge Telford or Stockport, although Altrincham should get in the play-offs. I am going to chance a couple of bigger prices who might be capable of hitting the top 3. Harrogate have more money than most to spend and although I am not the biggest fan of the manager they certainly have a team to challenge for promotion. They have sorted their problem pitch out and the fact they had so many games called off and an FA Cup run meant they had so many games to play late on in the season. That should mean there is improvement to come and at BetVictor’s 20/1 they are worth backing each-way. The other team I like is Solihull. They have been a solid mid-table side for a while now, but I like the way they have recruited over the summer and it seems like they are thinking about challenging for the play-offs. I think they can go much better than the bookies think and at a best price of 33/1 they are worth a small interest.

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 Yep, Eastleigh all the way for me in the south too. Although I'm more confident of Telford than Eastleigh. are you doing any single bets on any teams to win the league?

Re: England > Antepost > Conference North 2013/2014 Altrincham have a valid chance but ultimately reckon they'll finish second to Telford, but any Telford slip-ups then altringham are the team to capitalise. Stockport for me aren't good enough yet to win the league, next season ill back them though.
