Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Tournament preview: 1pt ew M.Ilonen to win Nordea Masters 33/1 Ladbrokes (1/4 1-5) Mikko Ilonen is a former winner of this event, albeit on a different course, but he was third around here last year so we know he can cope on this course. Last year one of the men ahead of Ilonen was Lee Westwood and there’s nobody of that ilk teeing it up this year which is a positive to his chances. Ilonen went well at Wentworth last week and looks to be coming into form at just the right time and he’s a fair bet at 33/1 to win the title for a second time. Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Top Danish player preview: 2pts M.Madsen Top Danish Player 9/2 Ladbrokes One player who this course won’t be too long for is Morten Madsen and he comes into this week in excellent touch having finished second in Portugal a couple of weeks ago and then qualifying for the US Open at Walton Heath on Monday. Hopefully US Open qualifying hasn’t taken too much out of him and if it hasn’t he should go well this week. He is long off the tee and his greens stats in Madeira were very good. At 9/2 he looks a good bet to be the Top Dane this week. Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Top Scottish player preview: 2pts M.Warren Top Scottish Player 11/2 Ladbrokes I was very impressed with Marc Warren last week though. I expected him to fall away a little bit down the stretch of such a huge tournament but if anything he got stronger and was a little unlucky that his only genuine poor swing on Sunday was the one which cost him the playoff. Warren has won this tournament before when it was the Scandinavian Masters and he’s driving the ball well enough to go well again so at 11/2 he’s worth a punt to be the top Scot. Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Second round previews: 3pts P.Hanson to beat M.Manassero & M-A.Jimenez 7/4 Ladbrokes I was interested to see how Peter Hanson would play in the first round because he pulled out of Wentworth with a back problem but that didn’t seem to hamper him much here. He took a few holes to get going but once he did he played quite nicely and looks in good form in his home open. Five birdies in the last 15 holes have put him in a good position at three under and at 7/4 he looks a fair price to win this three ball. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/nordea-masters-betting-peter-hanson-can-thrill-local-crowds-in-the-second-round-20130530 3pts J.Luiten to beat E.Grillo & J.Kruger 11/8 Ladbrokes Joost Luiten barely missed a fairway all day on Thursday and he led the field in greens in regulation and that’s no surprise as he is a fairly straight hitter anyway. Luiten came into this tournament with a top 10 in the China Open recently so he is clearly swinging the club well. Given how nicely he is hitting the ball and how many chances he is giving himself on the greens I think he is worth backing to win his three ball on Friday. Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Third round previews: 3pts S.Wakefield to beat A.Harto 6/4 BetVictor I think Simon Wakefield is a half decent price in this two ball. Statistically he’s played very well this week but the two occasions he’s got into trouble he’s been punished badly for it. If he continues to find the fairways and the greens then I think he has every chance of beating Harto here. Harto has only found just over half the greens in regulation this week and if that continues he’ll struggle to put a score together so at heavy odds against I’ll chance Wakefield here. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/nordea-masters-betting-simon-wakefield-looks-a-big-price-in-third-round-two-ball-20130531 3pts F.Aguilar to beat P.Hanson 7/4 BetVictor Hanson is clearly struggling a little but, his driving stats are abysmal this week for someone who usually drives the ball really well and it is holding him back because this course is there for the taking for someone with his quality. Aguilar hasn’t got the rhythm on the greens yet this week but if he finds it on Saturday then the 7/4 about him beating Hanson could prove to be very big indeed. Re: Nordea Masters 30 May - Jun 2 Final round previews: 4pts G.Havret to beat A.Quiros 11/10 Boylesports A year or so ago Alvaro Quiros would look a good bet for this two ball but Gregory Havret has played the better golf of the two tee to green this week and if he can hole a few more putts on Sunday then he will make his 11/10 quotes look pretty big. Quiros isn’t used to full competitive golf yet after his prevails of the last year or so and so I’d expect Havret to win this pairing. Full preview here: http://www.punterslounge.com/nordea-masters-betting-gregory-havret-looks-a-solid-bet-in-his-final-round-two-ball-20130601 3pts J.Quesne to beat P.Larrazabal 15/8 Boylesports Given Pablo Larrazabal’s poor record in recent tournaments on Sunday and given that Quesne is playing well off the tee and on the green I think he is worth taking in this final round against the Spaniard. Quesne isn’t hitting as many greens as Larrazabal so far this week but the ones he is hitting he’s making full use off. He may only need to shoot 70 or slightly better to win this two ball and at 15/8 he’s good odds to do that.
