Flat Racing Weds 24th April

Re: Flat Racing Weds 24th April 2,20 Epsom Having seen this race a few times, and other sprints here, dont get put off by large prices as they often make the frame. I'm keen on the chances of LADY GIBRALTAR from the Jarvis stable and ridden by Michael Murphy who claims 5lb. Has ran here 3 times, 7th of 8 as a 2yo, then won a C4 handicap here last season on fast ground. Finally 3rd here not beaten much in a C2 race. 11 of its 20 runs have resulted in won or place. I think the horse could make further improvement and win off a 4lb higher mark than last win. 10/1 Bet365

Re: Flat Racing Weds 24th April 2.20 Epsom Swiss Cross 1pt EW @ 7/1 Bet365 Swiss Cross should go well in this. He is a previous course winner and always runs well at the track. He shaped well on his last start but didn’t get a clear run and had to snatch up on the inside. He lost all momentum and just couldn’t get going again in time. He is well drawn in 5 for this, which is vital, and Kieron Fallon takes the ride. Trainer and jockey teamed up to good effect tonight at Yarmouth with a 12/1 winner and the yards other runner Putin finished a good 2nd. This horse is now 1lb lower than his highest winning mark of 92, which came at this track. He also recently won on the all weather off 94 so should go well in this off 91. Quick ground suits so any further drying of the ground would be a positive but he should go close nonetheless.

Re: Flat Racing Weds 24th April 3:20 Epsom: Gabrial's Kaka 2pts win 6/1 Bet365 Gabrial's Kaka looks well overpriced here. He is a course winner, lightly raced and potentially capable of a quite a bit better than he has shown to date. Course form can be very important and Gabrial's Kaka won here in September and did not appear to be stopping over the nine furlongs. The form looked fair enough for when you get just three runners. Gabrial's Kaka is a gelding so he may have been aimed at this race which has a decent prize in its own right.

Re: Flat Racing Weds 24th April 2.50 Epsom Moldowney 2pts win @ 4/1 Bet365 The Cumani yard is in cracking form at the moment and this horse looks interesting on his first start for the stable. He has switched form Tommy Stack for whom he showed some very good form last year. He finished just 2.5 lengths behind Fennell Bay at Royal Ascot and he finished just 1 length behind the progressive stayer Certarach at Dundalk on his final start in Ireland. He has since been gelded and this looks a good starting point for the horse. He looks a typical Cumani handicapper that could possibly progress into group class. Kieron Fallon takes the ride and this horse should go very close if handling the track. Luca Cumani does well here and shows a good level stakes profit of +£11.00.

Re: Flat Racing Weds 24th April 2.20 Epsom - 1pt win Taurus Twins @ 16/1 (VC) Speediest 5f around here so I like to be with one who I know has the pace for it and also has plenty of form downhill. Richard Price's runner fits both of those categories and it's a little bit surprising he hasn't run more often here as it ought to suit. He was 3rd over c&d this time last year off 4lbs higher and won off 6lbs higher a couple of starts later at Nottingham. Many of his efforts after that came on soft ground which isn't ideal (never won on worse than good to soft) and that's seen his mark come down. He was only beaten a head on his reappearance at Wolverhampton before racing on soft at Windsor last time so returns with better conditions today on a track that can suit his free-going style. He has a good temperament too which is ideal for here as he can be in the firing line throughout but not go down without a battle and is off a decent mark. Has the fitness edge over some of these and just generally looks better than a 16/1 shot.
