Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Jan 12 Eastbourne Borough at home to Dorchester Town (21/20 BetVics) Such is life in this season's Conny South that Dorchester have gone from championship contenders to relegation candidates in a couple of months. I was keen to oppose them as over-achievers early season, and they're in the midst of a terrible run - one win in nine in the league. Tommy Widdrington's Eastbourne started dismally, and that's with the team he put together over the summer. But he's a flexible manager and what we see today is a Borough 2.0, with a younger squad and a refreshed personnel. Home form has been patchy - December losses to Havant and Salisbury is a concern - but performances are improving and they might have got something at Boreham Wood last week. The fixture list, on the whole, has been pretty unkind in that they've met some of the better teams in recent week; when they haven't they've usually won. Chris Sheppard and Elliot Charles are forming a promising partnership up front, and they look livelier going forward than Dorchester. I rate Eastbourne at something under Evs for this one. I've also taken Salisbury at AFC Hornchurch, though the standout 17/20 has disappeared (BlueSq are best now at 4/5). Salisbury have generally done okay away against bottom-half sides. AFC Hornchurch have defended pretty well at home, but with Elliot Frear's arrival Salisbury have added some pace to their attack and Hornchurch don't have the physical presence to knock the leaders off their game. The price as is, though, is only marginal value.

Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Jan 12 Eastleigh v Boreham Wood Here we have two teams I tipped up ante-post for the Blue Square South this season. Even though Wood are fourth they are unlikely to win the league, whereas the home side have been huge disappointments. This is mainly because they can't defend away from home and have the worse away record in the league. At home though they have only dropped points in three of their 10 games and had a very easy win over Billericay on Tuesday night. Interestingly they have signed three defenders in recent days, including the superb Chris Todd from Forest Green. He will certainly get the backline in shape and I still think they are play-off contenders despite their lowly league position. This is obviously a tough game, but the bookies have under-estimated the home side's claims and are certainly worth backing at 11/5 with William Hill.

In some ways it is and in some ways it isn't. They really need to get their pitch sorted otherwise they will be struggling to fit all their games in. Eastleigh have also had another game called off and the havant game is off too. Sent from my HTC Desire S using PL Forum
