Re: Flat Racing - 27th December 2.25 Lingfield AQUILONIUS looks well treated on his best Irish form and went up 4lb for beating the reopposing Jack Whos He at Lingfield last time. Its a small field, and hopefully they won't crawl here, but he was given a good ride by Spencer last time, stalking the pace, and hopefully George Baker does the same today and is up there. 11/8 Boylesports 7.00 Wolverhampton SPIFER - former Luca Cumani that has only recent joined Marco Botti. Finished down the field on debut for this yard at Lingfield last time but entitled to strip fitter for the run and improve now dropping grade. 9/2 Bet Victor

Re: Flat Racing - 27th December 1.50 Lingfield Not the greatest grade but all the same an interesting race with a couple last time out winners. Menadati has caught the eye last twice when finishing well but not sure this mile trip ideal and will need them to go hard up front and just looks tricky. Jumbo Prado is potentially well handicapped on his best form but badly out of sorts when last seen and reliant on change of scenery reigniting the spark. Community has ran respectably recently and drop back to mile going to defenetily be a positive, draw not ideal and although handicapper starting to relent still looks high enough. Gallantry won last time out, he is a loveable sort but isn’t as consistent as he once used to be and probably better around Kempton these days unlikely to get such a soft run to the line this time and 6lb rise looks particularly harsh given how the race unfolded. Fonterutoli has been well backed this morning and you can sort of understand why if excusing his run last time out in an amateur handicap. He has been finishing well prior to last time out but his mark just about holds him looking at those runs. Bertie Blu Boy got his head back in front last time out dropped to a basement mark and first time blinkers, got a soft lead that day and unlikely to get things so easy this time, up 7lb for that effort which might be enough to scupper the follow up although potentially still well treated on his very best form and draw been rather unkind again in stall 9. For me Storm Runner should take all the beating, he will appreciate the good gallop that is likely and his run style is particularly suited to the way they swing around the home bend around here finishing with a rattle off the pace. He was only beaten by the very well treated Honey Of A Kitten in apprentice race who was under a much more experienced rider aswell. Well drawn to tuck in and Mongan takes the ride. 3pt win Storm Runner 3/1 boyles 4.00 Wolverhampton Not a race I was particularly interested by until I looked at the market this morning and saw one of these far too bigger price. Wreningham will appreciate Southwell opening back up also drawn wide today for a front runner. Russian Bullet is worth keeping an eye on with yard in good form and a good record fresh but is perhaps high enough in the handicap at present. Rydale Dancer suddenly burst out from the doldrums last time out at first try at 5f over CD finishing with a rattle, does now need to back that up and prove that this trip suits had he been given 6f the other day he would have won. Miss Bunter is interesting given her unexposed profile, she won an average to weak maiden for this time of year with the usual exposed sorts a mark of 58 might be a little harsh given the profile of the others in the race but handicapper didn’t really have much choice having rated the 2nd 58 prior to the race. Needs more today in a competitive handicap but certainly of interest. Volcanic Dust was only just denied last time out off same mark but that was at Lingfield all 6 runs around here have been disappointing, he has often looked a hard ride coming off the bridle early and wide draw not helpful. For me Chateau Lola should not be a 10/1 chance. She has run 2 solid efforts after a autumn break including over CD last time out when failing by just a neck. Well drawn again tonight to attack and should be in the shakeup at a huge price. 1pt e/w Chateau Lola 10/1 hills (I will also be laying Volcanic Dust given Wolves record) 6.00 Wolverhampton A weak handicap with several of these badly out of sorts and plenty to prove at present. Coach Montana won 3 starts back in similar race over CD, was held up next time out and clipped rail and unseated rider, given a confidence boosting ride last time out getting to the front from a wide draw so easily excused and off just a 2lb higher mark could go well but draw very unkind again. Autumnus has shown nothing in 3 maidens over further this drop back in trip has to have a major effect. Breeding doesn’t suggest this is the way forward. Michaels Nook has atleast been consistent of late and should appreciate this return to 7f, but has had a busy spell over past week or so and that now has to be the worry aswell as the wide draw. Give Us A Belle is of interest if backing up her maiden run last time out. She showed up well for a long time pulling clear with the winner (who has since ran very close 3rd off 54) a long way out before tiring in the final furlong, this drop back in trip should be ideal and a mark of 49 is workable on that form if tongue tie has desired affect again (was worn with headgear before and showed nothing). She is just far too bigger price. 1pt e/w Give Us A Belle 20/1 hills

Re: Flat Racing - 27th December 1.15 Lingfield - 1pt win West Side @ 22/1 (Bet365) Price looks on the large side for Michael Quinn's runner here. Still unexposed after just six runs and has shown promise on all occasions. Looked like a mile in handicaps on the all-weather would suit after staying on over 6f in maidens and ran okay over 7f off marks of 60 and 59 in the summer of 2011. Runs off 52 today and was only beaten 5 3/4l after the best part of 18 months off the track when reappearing earlier this month. That was under an inexperienced pilot as well so the booking of Richard Kingscote is more interesting today. Fitness on his side now and could outrun his price from a good draw in a weak race.
