Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern and Ryman Prem Dec 8 A few plays for me... Nantwich Town away at Grantham Town (6/5 Coral) A decent price about a side whose away record is second only to Hednesford and Ferriby. I backed them when they drew last time out at Blyth, which finished 1-1, but I'll risk them again, not least because they had the better of that one. Nantwich might have a youngish side but they have some counter-attacking pace, which unsettles the flatter-footed outfits in the section, especially when Nantwich are the away side. They don't always defend capably, however, and Mat Bailey - a key member of the unit - is missing for some months, but it's a good time to go to Grantham. The home side have only a couple of wins in the past dozen games and have been routinely turned over by mid-table opponents. The loss this week of the joint-managers amid rumours of an impending budget cut won't help the background to the game, though more will no doubt come out after training tonight. Whitehawk away at Lewes (5/4 Coral, Totesport) Another handsome price. Whitehawk have lost once away (a little unluckily at Hampton) and they are by common consent one of the strongest outfits in the section. One reason for their strength is a healthy budget that has allowed them to sign Jefferson Louis and bring in Junior Konadu on loan, both of whom have turned out in the Conference Prem this season. Added to that, the sublime Jed Wallace - perhaps the most valuable commodity in the Ryman Prem at the moment - has returned on loan and you have an attacking line up that would worry half the division above. Lewes - once as cash-flashing as Whitehawk - are expert cloth-cutters these days. Leading scorer Anthony Thomas has gone this week (three have been culled in a budget reassessment). They have been pretty competitive and drawing the hell out of the fixture list, but Whitehawk are good enough to get round and through them. Concord Rangers away at Hastings Town (6/5 Coral) I took 5/4 yesterday but this is still decent. Hastings were outplayed last time out at home by Canvey and there's a small matter of a TV date with Harrogate coming up. Concord are perhaps the most entertaining side to watch in the section, with Tony Stokes, Jason Hallett and Harry Elmes forming a superb attacking unit - the only team to take a point off them in six is Whitehawk. They do defend poorly at times, but Hastings are unsure in front of goal and I think Concord will be more focused on the three points.

Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern and Ryman Prem Dec 8 Quiet sessions but not a wasted one: Concord failed but Whitehawk and Nantwich came home to bag a decent profit on the day. Trying to piece together the story of the day and it looks like both winners needed turnarounds and finished with ten - I'll take that.
