Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Oct 13 A necessary early play for me - I'm just thankful that Corals have come up with some prices in time for me to play. Colwyn Bay at Evs is a touch generous, I think - despite a dismal recent run, there is a feeling of a corner being turned after successive home draws with Brackley in the league and Guiseley in the cup. Overall, I feel, they've been much more coherent than a Hinckley side that has been opposed on here since the pre-season friendlies were priced up. More on these later, but 11/5 Boreham Wood at Salisbury City and 6/4 Hayes & Yeading United away at Bath City are also overpriced for me.

Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Oct 13 I would be very concerned about Boreham Wood's away form and I would want to see some improvement in it before I started backing them on the road. It has just been announced though that Arsenal have lent them their coach for the day to travel to the game in so maybe that will help.

Fair points, and I'd be concerned if I just glanced at the results column, but I think you have to factor in the strength of the sides they've had out in the games they've lost. They were pretty much half-strength at Tonbridge in losing 4-2 and the ended the game at Truro with eight men (I'll leave aside any questions about their discipline!). Other than that they've drawn at Bath and Hornchurch and picked up three points at Hayes. It's not a bad record all in all (though the win at Hayes was lucky), and perhaps the real surprise is how well makeshift sides have done in the home games. But I think that the starting XI is much stronger than a month ago and also I don't think Salisbury are as strong as their perfect home record suggests - apart from trouncing Dorchester, all the wins have been by a single goal and not always comfortable. My prices have Salisbury as very slight favourites; they don't have Boreham Wood anything like this price.

From my personnal view there isnt much value in the price, but I hope they win for you and my ante-post bet on them.

Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Oct 13 To add a bit to the thoughts I posted on Tuesday... apologies if the reads a bit like addpea and me echoing each other... Colwyn Bay at home to Hinckley United (best now 5/6) Cameron Darkwah probably misses out and that's a bit of a shame as he's been putting himself about for Colwyn Bay and giving them quite an edge up front. But Hinckley are in such dire nick that they are worth opposing in almost any circumstances at the moment. The Evs I posted has long gone - probably in the wake of Hinckley's cup defeat at Ossett Albion (who are not even the best team in Ossett), though I've been opposing them on here since the friendly at home to Cov. Bay themselves, as I pointed out earlier, are getting better and are going into this relegation battle in much more buoyant mood. There is some value in the 5/6, I feel. Boreham Wood away at Salisbury City (best now 21/10 Totesport) Two evenly matched sides and a chunky price, even if it has come in a touch (though available at 12/5 for a stretch). Boreham Wood are without Luke Garrard, who has been a stabilising influence on a youngish squad, but they've a settled line-up these days. It's true that Wood haven't been garnering too many points away from home but there are reasons for this - the early-doors point at Hornchurch might not have been an inspiring performance but I think we can forgive them some ring-rustiness in the middle of August; the win at Hayes was a good result, though a touch fortunate; the Truro defeat was a terrible result, but they actually started the stronger before the sendings off; the Tonbridge defeat with a much-depleted side, was perhaps undeserved; the 0-0 at Bath was a bit dull, but there were spells when Wood had Bath on the back foot. Also in this fixture you have to consider Salisbury's form at the Ray Mac - played five, won five. Whichever angle you come at it, that's pretty handy, but the Dorchester game apart Salisbury haven't been as dominant as that record suggests and in a couple of those games they couldn't really complain if they'd lost. I have them as slight favourites, but to nothing like this level, which is why Boreham Wood are value. I'm not sure what the reason is for the Wood price cut everywhere unless it is to do with the fact that Salsibury couldn't fill the bench last week at Hayes. Hayes & Yeading United away at Bath City (8/5 Totesport) I took the early doors 6/4 and there is better available now. Regulars here will know I've been on Bath City's case for a month or so and it's proved a useful strategy (though I could have done without them equalising at home to Gosport last week). Though the injury woes are easing, and Sean Canham is back, the squad looks increasingly thin - paceless at the back and lacking the guile to unlock sides with their progressive play. The recent management changes seem more like job-rotation than a dynamic change of direction. Hayes & Yeading are capable on their day and they are looking a bit more organised as a defensive unit. They also have Kudos Oyenuga up front, one of the more enigmatic and entertaining strikers in the section.

Re: England > Weekend > BlueSQ Bet North & South Oct 13 Colywn Bay looks a bit of a risk now as they appear to be struggling for numbers. Manager Jon Newby may well have to take to the field even though he himself is carrying an injury. There seems to have been money for Hinckley under new management, where they are down to 21/20 with 365 but still 11/4 with PP. Interesting! I'm going for a 2/1 double on Guiseley and Oxford City who have both proved to be reliable against similar opposition. Solihull should be no match for the Yorkshiremen while Workington have to recover from a midweek cup replay and a dauntingly long journey to Oxford.
