Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Sep 3-5 Maidenhead United at home to Farnborough (31/20 BetVictor) A very decent price, I reckon. Both sides are 2-2-1 going into this, but I think there is a bigger gulf between them than that record and the prices suggest. A month ago, Maidenhead were further out in the anteposts than Truro, which indicates what the setters thought of them. They struggled, of course, last season, but this season's squad looks stronger with the addition of David Pratt up front. Results have been decent, a midweek defeat at Bath the only blot on the copybook. They drew at Sutton when Harry Pritchard tore the home side apart for an hour until he got injured and they won last weekend at Eastbourne with a disciplined showing. There are downsides - Alex Wall has looked out of sorts, and skipper and defensive lynchpin Mark Nisbet is a week away from fitness - but they look a squad that will finish a generous distance from the bottom three. Farnborough have put in some mighty backs-to-the-wall performances, and deserve great credit for that. Their only defeat came to a last-gasp goal at Salisbury and they got a fantastic point at Dover on the opening day. For me, it's too early to say how their season will go. They have been pretty ropey at home despite a maximum return (they're the only side that Weston has outplayed this season), and the squad still has an in-progress feel to it. I think Maidenhead are stronger in all departments.

Re: England > Midweek > BlueSQ Bet North & South Sep 3-5

Blimey just noticed my awful spelling in my post' date=' suppose it proves how much of a rush I was in but at least Bishops Stortford ran out easy winners.[/quote'] Yes - good call on Bishop's. Interestingly, the prices about both them and Maidenhead, which had been cut, were drifting at about 6pm. No idea why... and I'm not complaining as it just meant one's head could get further into the trough.
