Re: Wales > Premier League > 2012-13 Bangor v Prestatyn for those that follow the Welsh league Prestatyn win at 3.5 is an excellent value bet available for friday evening. These 2 side finished level on points last season however this term Bangor have lost players and seen a lot of changes over the summer and have an inexperienced new look side. Brewerton their captain and one of the top players in the WPL is out for the season at centre half. Bangor lost to newly promoted Rhyl at home last week. Before that they scrapped a 1-0 win against Newtown who are perennial relegation material. Prestatyn on the other hand are much more stable. Have kept their best players and added 3 or 4.They had an admirable effort in europa league winning the first round against a Lithuanian side. Last week they beat Welsh champions TNS 1-0 which doesnt happen very often and in Lee Hunt have the best goalscorer in the WPL. Price has dropped but still value to be had at 3.5. Bet365 have suspended betting looks like they got stung big at with Prestatyn at 4.2. I would price Prestatyn well bellow 3.0 and probably make them favorites given the changes at Bangor. Games like this are always good to bet on because bookies have very little knowledge. So if you get on early you get the value.

Mr Ross? can update the thread title to 2013/2014 and i will carry on throughout the season with the welsh bets when they arise. Looks like around a 3rd of the games are going to be on friday evenings which is probably better from a betting point of view otherwise saturdays nobody takes any notice of WPL when the english matches are on.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 One that I've taken is TNS to win the league @ 1.7 with Bwin. I took this before this round of games in which Prestatyn won and TNS only drew, so it may be available at better odds now. It opened around evens but I missed that through being on holiday. In short, TNS are the only full-time team and they are a long way above the other sides. Although they only won the league by 7 points last year, it was done and dusted a long time before the end. I can't see who is going to challenge them. Prestatyn have started very well but despite their additions I think they are not good enough to last the pace and will run out of steam. Bangor are not the side they were, clearly, as the opening results have shown. Airbus are the best contenders with their host of players from English non-league but they're still not on TNS level. TNS are much fitter than their opponents due to being full time and this will tell by the end of the season. The main problem with this bet is that having won the league the last two seasons it becomes hard to keep the motivation but as they have no other distractions (other than the cups, which are less important) I think they will be okay in this respect. I don't like them much, but I see no other side winning the league, so I was happy to take 1.7 even though I got 2.8 last year and on the face of it it looks low for an outright market.

Re: Wales > Premier League > 2013-14 hi. I am from Pembroke so I follow the teams down south in the WPL. For anybody who bets on the league it may be a good bet to oppose Bangor again. They play Afan Lido away who look a big price at 5.5. Afan lido are no great shakes but they have improved this year have added 6 new players including a good kid released by Swansea and won their first game in midweek. If you include last year Bangor have lost 7 of their last 8 and they also have injuries to key players. They wont fancy a 450 mile round trip to lido. I think for Bangor bookmakers are pricing on reputation rather than adapting to current circumstances. Also surprised to see Airbus as low as 1.36 against Newtown. More like 1.5 in my book. They havn't done enough yet to justify such a price even though Newtown have a small shrinking squad. In the outright market as an outside bet Aberystwyth have a chance to push TNS. They are a sleeping giant of the WPL and look good this year after acquiring the services of 4 players from llanelli after they went tits up.

They have shored up the defence and spent well on striker Lee Hunt, whilst retaining their attacking players from last year. Did well in Europa League and the club is on the up. They have a good home record as seen by their two 1-0 wins over TNS this season and last. This is a hard away game for Airbus which they will do well to win, I would have them at around 2.4 so the 1.8 on offer looks v short. Overs look decent as well @ 1.5. Prestatyn were the overs team last year, i backed over 3.5 in almost every game they played and made a good profit. Surprisingly they have been very underish this year but I can see some goals here. I am sticking to the straight home win bet though. I'm ignoring draw cover here due to the relative lack of draws in WPL. Port Talbot vs Newtown- my WPL bet of the weekend is over 2.5 @ 1.8 with 365. This is an excellent price for almost any game in the WPL, where there tend to be loads of goals.
