Some teams lost important players and I'm not sure if they got replacements. De Jong who left Twente Vertonghen who left Ajax Guidetti who left Feyenoord... I wonder! PSV bought an important player with Van Bommel if you ask me.

Re: Netherlands > Season 2012/13 > Preview Hello all ! 1st pick of the season from me. Was thinking about taking PSV to become the champions of 2012 a long time. But watching the Dutch supercup (Johan Cruyff schaal) this sunday, it was clear for me. In my opinion PSV has the best, and most of all, most depth squad in the league. They improved significantly compared to last season, with the additions of Narsingh from Heerenveen (best right winger in the league) and fully-experienced Mark van Bommel. Their attacking line is superior in the eredivisie with Toivonen, Lens, Matavz and Wijnandum. They also have a very experienced and well known coach in Dick Advocaat. Their main contenders, Ajax, have of course a very good team, but inexperienced and very, very young. They also play in the (very important for them) Champions League, and this will take it's toll during the season, I have no doubt about that. All in all, I see PSV Eindhoven clear favourite to win the title this year and the odd of 4.33@Boyle is pure value to me and I take it with full confidence. (4.33 @ Boylesports and 4.00 @ betfred). They have a good mix of talent and experience with good young players as Willems, Narsingh, Lens, Mertens and Strootman, mixed with the experience of Van Bommel, Bouma and Engelaar (who will not play often). 4 of these young player that I named were already selected for the Dutch squad and all made their debut if i'm correct, Mertens plays his matches for the Belgium national squad. In addition to last year they also have a top coach now with Dick Advocaat. Looking at the other titel challengers from last year, FC Twente, AZ Alkmaar and Ajax, they are all weakened. AZ lost three important players, Ajax one and Twente two. One key player that leaves the clubs is normally not a real big issue but in this case it is. Ajax lost their leader in defense and absolute star player of the Dutch league. The thing is that they haven't replaced him yet with an outside signing. At the moment they are relying on Daley Blind who can not handle this level of competition. In addition to the loss of Vertonghen, they also lost their second striker Dimitry Bulykin who was not the most technical player but had a great goalscoring record. At the moment they only have one striker in the squad which is Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. Good player, but is very easily injured. Also veteran Andre Ooijer decided to quit playing professional football. What remains is a very young and inexperienced squad, which will most likely perform with ups and downs. FC Twente earned a lot of money this summer by selling two of their best attacking players with De Jong and John, gaining them around 23 million in total. They also spend a lot of money by getting Luc Castaignos from Internazionale, Dusan Tadic from FC Groningen, Bjaelland from Danmark and Guiterrez from South America. In addition to that they got Dimitry Bulykin and Tim Breukers as free signings. Looking at the whole squad they got stronger overall, looking at the starting 11 it's difficult to say. It's obvious that they are searching at the moment for the right starting line-up and they have to get used to each other. This could be concluded from their matched in the Europa League so far. Luc Castaignos and Bulykin joined quite late so they need time to adjust, time that could be valuable. AZ Alkmaar was on top for a long time last year but lost their absolut star player Rasmus Elm to CSKA Moscow. We are still looking for a replacement but he hasn't been found. Also the entire (strong) left side is gone this season with the departure of Brett Holman (Aston Villa) and Simon Poulsen (unknown). They have been replaced but their replacement is not as strong as they were. In addition to that we signed Viktor Elm (Rasmus' brother) and some people strenghten the depth of the squad, but nothing really special. I don't think AZ Alkmaar will perform as good as last year. I didn't name Feyenoord yet as I don't think they were a challenge for the titel last year, and they will not be this year. They finished second so this comment may sound a little odd. The thing is that they were hardly a real title challanger during the season and only climed to the second place at the end of the season when AZ Alkmaar, PSV and FC Twente were losing a lot and Ajax was already certain for the title. They lost the whole centre of the team and got young, inexperienced replacements. Will most likely finish at the top 6, but won't be a threat for PSV, Ajax of Twente in my opinion.

Re: Netherlands > Season 2012/13 > Preview NAC Breda fired John Karelse because of poor results a month ago. Nebojsa Gudelj was appointed as the new coach last week. He debut as coach, but he played 8 years in Breda, where his son also plays currently.
