Jump Racing ~ Sunday 29th July

Recommended Posts

3.30 Stratford: 102 Touch FM Handicap Chase (Class 3)(2m7f) Nice race for the track at this time of year and a contest where many of the horses would seem to need further, this is sharp track and it may not suit some of them. The two I like are Life Of A Luso and Round Tom, the latter may just need this but is well handicapped and Life Of A Luso ticks a lot of boxes and is a fair price in an open race. Selections: 2pts Life Of A Luso 9/1 Paddy Power 1pt Round Tom 10/1 Ladbrokes Full Preview; http://www.punterslounge.com/stratford-betting-life-of-a-luso-looks-value-in-feature-chase-at-stratford-for-johnson

Re: Jump Racing ~ Sunday 29th July 3.30 Stratford MISS SAFFRON 4pts win @ 9/2 bog (Paddy Power and many more) 9yo mare trained by Susan Gardner who had been decent over hurdles in 2010-2011 with 3 wins in her last 8 starts (rated up to 102) but saved the best for her new career over fences that started just 8 months ago. Kept improving race after race and after a break came back better than ever to finish second at Newton Abbot (21st May) over 2m6f (good to firm) narrowly beaten off 92 just 3L behind Amuse Me who went on to complete a hattrick winning his next two starts with his rating that's gone 18lb up since that success at Newton Abbot. Three weeks later (10th June) Miss Saffron collected her fully deserved first win over fences with an impressive perfomance at Worcester over 2m7f (good) beating with ease Paul Nicholls-trained Minella Stars (10L behind her), Philip Hobbs-trained The Disengager (32L behind her) and Amuse Me who finished 37L behind on a 13lb worse terms than when able to beat her on Miss Saffron's previous start at Newton Abbot. The Disengager has bolted up on his next start off the same mark and both last two chases contested by Miss Saffron show very solid form at the moment. She had a little break of 7 weeks and is back upped in grade today and off a 9lb higher mark (won off 97 and today will be racing off 106). Jack Doyle (5-24 in the last 3 months for a very good 21% strike rate) who rode her for all her 4 career wins is today's jockey and Susan Gardner is having a good season with 6 winners from 39 runners (15%) and had a fantastic month of June with 4 winners from 11 runners (36%). This is by far the toughest race she has contested in thus far but she seems a progressive mare enjoying her new job over fences and with ground and trip not a problem she should be able to defeat her new mark.
