Rupert's 1m+ Handicaps

Recommended Posts

Basically I've been assessing the way I approach picking my selections and think on the whole I am more successful over trips with a bit of stamina necessary. This doesn't mean I will be totally ignoring races below 1m long in distance but this thread will solely be 1m+ handicaps. I imagine these races will represent much of my daily selections as I tend to avoid sprint races unless I'm really confident and there isn't often the group/listed races during the week unless there's a specific meeting going on. I will still post selections for these races in the daily threads in the ATR section but will focus on a specific type of race and that will be the handicaps over 1m long in distance. These races can limit the effect on the draw (unless straight miles), lack of a clear run, and the start to some degree as it can be very frustrating if your horse is on the wrong part of the track or lose ground at the start over a sprint trip. This is not to say these factors do not play a part, but I think you generally can recover from such issues better. So anyway, I think specialising in a certain type of race on the whole might help get a grip on a smaller group of horses and allow me to find value and hopefully be less erratic with my punting. Oh and as per usual, starting bank of 100pts, staking ranges from 1-5pts and selections will usually be up late at night/early morning with the chance of late morning should I be busy the night before.
