danj2202
I have found this to be reasonably profitable over the years even if small prices usually I have bet the following Ryan tannehill to be drafted 8 or earlier at 1.28 with sky I cannot see a scenario where he isnt taken at 8 by miami unless someone trades up to seven with the jags to take him first Matt kalil to be drafted 3rd overall at 1.53 with bodog There is a lot of buzz that the vikes are not that taken with kalil and may look to trade this pick or draft claibourne the cb instead. If a trade is pulled with someone outside the top six i anticipate it will be to take kalil so assuming the vikes dont draft claibourne then the bet loojs a safe one Over 3.5 quarterbacks to be taken in the first round @ 4.20 paddy power I missed the 5.00 that was available. We know the first two picks will be luck and rg3 in that order and tannehill should go 8. This is when this gets risky. Cleveland apparently like weeden and may take him with their later first round pick. If they dont he is a lock for their pick early in the second and a team may well trade up a few spots back into the first to grab him late. That is the hope anyway Other bets currently under consideration are Tampa bay to make the fifth pick at 1.33 with bodog St louis to make the sixth pick at 1.33 with bodog Justin blackmon to be the sixth player drafted at 1.50 with bodog Michael floyd under 12.5 draft position at 1.80 with bet365 Will probably wait for mike mayock to release his mock draft on nfl.com tonight as this is usually a good guide before updating my portfolio further Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
danj2202
Have added blackmon to be drafted number 4 @ 17/4 Trent richardson to be drafted number 5 @ 7/4 Morris claibourne to be drafted at number 6 @ 23/10 Tampa bay to make the fifth pick of the draft at 1/3 Luke kuechly to be the tenth pick.of the draft @ 10/3 All with bodog And over 1.5 running backs to be taken in the first round at 7/4 with bet365 All of these are based on mike mayocks mock draft released this afternoon on nfl.com Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Samba_SamPa
Re: Nfl draft Good luck matey. Not risking anything financially on the draft, will still be an interested viewer though
danj2202
Cheers dude. Have shown a profit the last two years. If mayock has it right then i am quids in. Also if the qbs come in will be handy. Fingers crossed Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
equinoxx
Re: Nfl draft I can't see 4 QBs being picked in the first round. Luck and Griffin 1 and 2, then Tannehill should be picked at 8 if not earlier (Vikes could still deal). There is a big drop off after that.
danj2202
Vikes will not deal. Nobody will give up what it takes to move up to three. If jax dont trade out at seven the tannehill goes eight. We shall see weedens floor is the fifth pick of the second round with the browns in my opinion so if sonebody wants him then you need to jump ahead and that patriots pick will be up for grabs late in the first. There also in my opinion is not that great a drop from tannehill to weeden, osu were very close to playing for the bcs title last year after all Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Crouch Potato
No drop in quality but Wheden is like 28 or 29, so I'm not sure there's going to be too many teams willing to pay the cost other than the Browns. Maybe Denver will take a project to learn off manning? Anyway, good luck with your bets. The fantasy nerd in me can't wait to see here T-Rich goes. danj2202
For betting purposes i hope richardson goes to the bucs. For fantasy purposes he would be HUGE in cleveland Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Samba_SamPa
Re: Nfl draft Just read it, and thought of your bets :wall 1, 4, 5 & 7 - thought the Vikes may have got a better package than that, maybe a 2nd rounder next year and a late rounder this year
danj2202
My immediate thoughts were third and seventh seemed about right. But then i guess cleveland had picks to spare. I need to be correct about number ten and quarterbacks to save the day now. Running backs would be a nice cherry. If as apparently is possible the vikes move back again with the bucs i could yet be reduced to a sobbing mess lol Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Crouch Potato
Glad you came out with your par. Interesting that all your longer odds bets won and the shorter odds cost you. Might be worth remembering for next time.
equinoxx
Re: Nfl draft I don't want to be sounding like a 'told you so' here but I think it may be worth noting for future drafts. The reason why I was thinking a team would trade up to 3rd is because of the new CBA agreement. In years previously you would have seen the upper picks be signed to large contracts based solely on their draft ranking. This isn't as much the case now since the new agreement put an end to that. Franchises can afford to move up because they aren't throwing the big money to do so all they are technically doing is giving up positions and/or picks. Dan, good job on that QB bet. I didn't see Weeden as a first rounder.

Samba_SamPa
Re: Nfl draft Made a change to see Bill trading up (first time since 2003 I believe!), obviously sees those guys as Patriots guys in a position where we badly need some better skill sets Couple years time and it's just going to be a Rams Draft, not an NFL Draft, isn't it? :lol
Crouch Potato
Re: Nfl draft It's certainly been an interesting day. The Rams have stockpiled a massive arsenal of future draft picks, but they really haven't added too much for right now. I think we will see them struggle a bit again, but will be well served moving forward, so long as Bradford can find a way to progress. From a betting POV I'm quite interested in the Dallas Cowboys. They had so much more potential than the 9-7 record they showed last year, where their secondary was just atrocious and cost them several double digit leads. With Brandon Carr and now Morris Claiborne in their ranks, and not too many notable losses, I view them as a very balanced side with some dynamic weapons now on both Offense and Defense. danj2202
Those two patriots picks were massive value picks and they are certain to trade back a couple of times now to get some extra picks. Is nobody else wondering why tampa passed up the chance to take claibourne in favour of barron considering the bucs hired the lsu db coach who had claibourne in college? I made new england, san diego and st louis the day one winners i think. Minnesota did well to get extra picks and take their guy at the sane time also. As a bears fan was slightly underwhelmed with shea mcclellin was convinced after the jets pick.it was ingram or chandler jones (who i really really wanted lol). Still apparently he was the guy they wanted all along "in emery we trust" Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Crouch Potato
Re: Nfl draft Yeah, he's got big question marks around him as a clutch player, but he certainly has played a lot of good games at Quarterback as well. Certainly haven't pulled the trigger yet either, but with guys like Bryant and Austin on offense and Ware and now Carr+Claiborne on D I do think they are very balanced. Agree that the Pats got two value picks. I also think the Steelers were a big winner today. David DeCastro -- best guard in the draft, top 10-15 prospect and the Steelers have such a suspect O-line. Now they have Pouncey-DeCastro in the interior and potentially Gilbert at tackle for a good chunk of years.
danj2202
Couldnt agree more with you on the steelers. They near as damn it made the list. The early rush on secondary help left massive value on o line and pass rush in the late teen to mid twenties part of the first round Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
