4:10 Newmarket Trumpet Major 2pt win - 8/1 (Ladbrokes) The market suggests the well-backed Guineas horse, Most Improved, should win this easily. However, on form to date he's not a near even-money shot. Trumpet Major relishes good ground and will clearly thrive over a mile. Was not well placed in the Dewhurst, got far too back and finished strongly. Before that he'd shown a nice turn of foot to beat the likes of Red Duke and Daddy Long Legs. Although not being as good over 6f, he does have a similar profile to Dick Turpin, who finished close up in top two year old races before blossoming as a three-year old. Hannon always has his string in good order so I wouldn't be worried in that respect. Price looks far too big.

Mighty Ambition put up a decent performance when winning his maiden at Newbury, and the form of that has been franked with winners coming out of the race. This stiff mile is likely to be more in his favour and while this is a big step up from maiden company Mighty Ambition could be up to it. Mahmood Al Zarooni is hardly an unkown trainer and he has a huge string of blue bloods to train, yet can't help but think he is a touch under rated. which is good, as his runners can be underbet. He has a fine record at Newmarket.
