Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 Barwell away at Banbury United (17/10 Sportingbet) I'm surprised to see the drift in Barwell's price. They've negotiated a trappy month when suspensions and injuries have hurt them with some good results and a move up to the business end of things. They weren't that great against Swindon in winning 2-0, but they are defensively solid and capable of attacking with some pace. Banbury are not far behind, and have games in hand, but they are living off their excellent start and remain a side to oppose in my book. Barwell look a bit more experienced than Banbury's young side and look better equipped for the physical demands of winter pitches.
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 Lewes at home to Tooting & Mitcham United with Carshalton Athletic at home to Horsham (Sportingbet 9/20 and 4/9) Skinny prices on wet pitches... always a risk, but I fancy Lewes to kick-start their home form with a win over T&M, who now have a regime change and a seven-year plan for league football. But first they need to negotiate the rest of the campaign, and go into this one with a squad that may be fired up with a new manager but has found it impossible to keep quality attackers quiet. Lewes are holding onto a play-off berth by their fingertips, but they have a quality attack who should have a decent day on Saturday. Carshalton had their own blip against Lewes this week, but after thumping Wingate and Bishop's Stortford in the previous home games they should have more than enough for a Horsham side that - like Tooting have conceded almost two and a half goals a game this season. Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 Other than the double and the single, I'll probably have a quiet afternoon. I have a quiet fancy for Bury Town at home to Canvey Island, but they have had some terrible injuries and until I can clarify who's starting I won't play. The Southern has plenty of marginal calls, with Brackley and Swindon coming into the mix, but I just don't trust Swindon's capacity to score goals - they have been playing some good stuff of late but completely failing to kill teams off. The Northern has some intriguing games, and I'd normally be taking Matlock at home to Rushall but for their injury problems (although Rushall are pretty light, too). Stafford also have some claims at Evs as Frickley make do without Peter Knox. The most interesting potential play is Mickleover at home to Ashton. The visitors are doing okay but will miss Kevin Sanasy for this one. Mickleover have been rather unlucky in recent games, with red cards destroying their chances against Hednesford. They have, though, been lacking a spine and the signing of Emeka Nwadike - who, I reckon, will do a hell of a job at this level sitting in front of the defence - will shore things up very nicely. This is much closer than the prices suggest and the 8/5 about Micklover is moderate value, though I won't play as it feels a little drawish to me. Modjadji
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 Chesham look pretty high at 11/8 to beat Brackley considering their home record, no?
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 All results possible in that one, Modjadji, as I hear neither side is looking entirely convincing. I'll be up at that one so it's a no bet for me.
Shipsupstreets
Re: England > Weekend > Northern, Southern & Ryman Prem Dec 17 Mixed for me, and apologies for the Barwell tip. At least the skinny pairing in the double came home for a skinny profit in this section.
