andyjkmak
After Hughes latest suspension it appears revolt is on the cards, Hughes gives up his licence and other jockeys are talking about some sort of protest. Things are getting very interesting

Mirage
Re: jockey protest There doesn't seem to have been much consultation with the jockeys over the rules so maybe this will force the talks that needed to happen before the new rules were unveiled. Whatever peoples view on the rules, surely everyone will admire Hughes for speaking his mind and standing up for what he feels is right. DLL
Re: jockey protest Thank God. Richard Hughes is a legend. Agreed, top jockeys like him can afford to play this card (cos they've got more money :lol). But he's right to stick up for the everyday jocks who are just trying to make a living and can't afford to be picking up 5 or 10 day bans every few weeks. I personally think they should just continue riding the way they used to because they can't possibly ban everyone and it'll force them to confront the problems they've created. It'll be an interesting weekend that's for sure. :ok
Jimmy2shoes
Re: jockey protest Thank God. Richard Hughes is a legend. He's one of the VERY best in the business. What a very sad loss he will be.

He's a good jockey but slight exageration to say he's one of the very best. Sir Henry Cecil and Sir Michael Stoute champion trainers 20 times between them didn't rate him at all. They barred him from riding the K Abdulla horses when he was retained rider for the Saudi Prince.
