MPLouis
Just had a thought. I sometimes find the forum frustratingly slow. It's not my computer, the it's the same problem with various computers I use and other forums are noticeably faster. I'm sure I can't be the only user who finds the forum slow. I wondered if the blue text links are part of the problem? A few years ago, the Motley Fool UK website trialled them, and I'm pretty sure it slowed their forum down - they abandoned them after a while and the users were happier. Do the blue links serve any useful purpose here? I notice every time I type the word 'odds' in a post it's highlighted blue, and it has a link to the odds comparison website. Just a friendly idea to try to improve things for everyone in general :)
Datapunter
Re: Speed and those blue text links Couple of people have noticed the 'slowness' too, then others seem to have things 'normal'. Yes, the automated linking has a purpose(s). I doubt it causes slowness, i'd be more inclined to examine the advertising as the banners are pulled in from numerous other servers each one potentially a delay.
