This is the first 'real' match for both teams. Lille and Marseille finished the 2010-2011 season in 1st and 2nd place respectively so both teams are at the top of French football. The match is being played in Tanger, Morroco so there isn't an issue of venue to consider really. This is a "Super Cup" match and both teams would like to win it and get the year off to a bright start. I don't think tactics will play into it especially since it is in Morocco and the teams will want to play an open and entertaining match for the host country fans. Most importantly, in the last 10 matches between them, Lille and Marseille have played out 7 matches with over 2.5 goals.
