What Exactly Do Racing Managers Do?

I ask this because Lord Teddy Grimthope who doesnt need the money is the "racing manager" of some mega-rich sheik, so when an interview is needed out trots Lord Teddy to waffle on, is it "jobs for the boys" or am I missing something

I mean if you're The Queen or Sheik Mohammed you don't have time (well, i suppose the queen does !) to manage your own string of horses, liaise with trainers, make day to day decisions about entries and so on...........you employ someone to do it............like a racing manager
