They have several good players, like Everton, Overtoom or Armenteros, who can score goals; Heracles got the 3rd attack of Eredivise (along with Roda, Twente and... Groningen). Unfortunately, their defense isn't as good. Guests have a strong attack too, and though their away results have been so-so, they did better lately. Matavz is back, and they beat in-form ADO 2-4 a couple of weeks ago. 75% of the last sixteen Groningen games saw both teams scoring. Heracles won both games vs Groningen this season, 3-0 and 1-4. T.Matavsz [Groningen's best striker] is out and Gonzalo Garcia, Niklass Pedersen and long term Koen van der Laak are also unavailable. Shkodran Metaj will take Matavz place upfront. This guy is not even close to the quality that Matavs has. I also like the odds for home win due different reasons. 1 : Heracles is just outstanding at home on their artificial pitch scoring many goals and conceding only a few. 2 : FC Groningen away record isn't strong at all and they already lost 3-0 away at Heracles this season and they even lost at home against Heracles. 3 : Heracles is a real pain in the ass for Groningen in the last few years and their last away win against Heracles was in 2007. This heracles team plays great football with a very decent coach who knows his team best. They have a solid defence who conceded only 6 goals in their last 7 home games. And a tight midfield with lungs of a horse. Their strikers are in bloody good shape scoring 19 goals in their last 6 home games. All in all this is a tight affair but due home advantage and form/confidence I think Heracles will snatch a victory here and travel to FC Groningen on sunday with a great feeling for the 2nd leg. I'll go for the home win with medium stakes and also over 2.5 goals with medium stakes. Small stakes on Heracles to win and over 2.5 goals. Good luck guys!
