Question about the 5:40 @ Donny today

Recommended Posts

Can I ask one of the more enlightened and wiser ones amongst you to tell me why Alan Macabe the trainer of both Azrael and Il Batista would enter the pair of them when Il Batista is having to run from 7lb out of the handicap? I appreciate he has put a 7lb claimer on Il Batista and that as such negates this, but in relation to Azrael, what plusses or negatives does this help or hinder this horse with? If any at all of course. Basically im just trying to find out why he would do this as I think Azrael has a really good chance in the race but would like to know if Il Batista being entered in the race in anyway impacts on Azrael's chance. Many thanks.

Re: Question about the 5:40 @ Donny today I think you can drive yourself mad trying to figure why horses are running in particular races It might just be something as straightforward as the owners having a day out at the races and wanting to see their horse run......... It Battista looks well handicapped on the best of his AW form but ran a stinker last time out...........usually front runs, maybe he's in as a pacemaker ? Maybe they're just going to run every couple of weeks in races he can't win hoping his mark falls so he can get into class 6 races towards the back end or start the next AW season on a low mark
