Re: BBOTD - 18th of Feb 7.05 Wolverhampton Poor day on the flat and this class 7 handicap looks the best for a bet with a couple that have caught my eye in recent weeks. Our Kes is no youngster but has returned in good form yet again on the aw this year and was a brave winner (dead heating) penultimate start (although placed second) went up 3lb for that effort and was only 2l adrift of the impressive captain cool last time out when he was staying on far too late in a race that it didnt pay to be held up, should get the race run to suit tonight and should hold every chance. Bright Sparky made a decent return to the track last time out staying on at southwell, ought to be suited by return to this trip having previously won over CD, not won off a mark this high but young apprentice takes off 7lb, know little about the rider so obvious concerns there which makes him just a saver. Mary Helen could easily cause a bit of an upset catching the eye in a CD claimer on penultimate start when finishing late and stayed on very late again last time over 9f and should be much more suited returned to this trip, looks well treated on some of his best form from 2009 and looks like returning to form at the moment. 1pt win Our Kes 7/1 vc

Re: BBOTD - 18th of Feb

Ymir 2.20 Lingfield. 0.5 points each way. Bit of a thinker' date=' but does have the ability to go close in context with this race today. The tongue tie & visor stay on, which is good, and although he could do with dropping down to a mark of around 47 or 48, the mark of 49 still gives him place claims in context with today's race. The trip and surface isn't a worry and there could be a little more to come from him. Big price and well worth a nibble I think.[/quote'] nice mate wd :nana

Re: BBOTD - 18th of Feb Wolv 6.00 - Aureate - EW at 25/1 BOG with Paddy Power Going for a long shot today This horse appears to be in decline now at the age of 7 but has fallen to a mark of 65 which gets him into a class 6 handicap for the first time in his long career This time last year he was finishing a close up 3rd in a class 4 here off a mark 10 lbs higher. That race came off a break of nearly 4 months and he's had nearly 4 months off since his last run His career record on the all weather is pretty good with 4 wins and 3 places from 11 outings He's in decline, his mark is falling - at some point he'll be competitive in a low grade race. Will it be today ? It's a good race for picking an EW outsider as we have a very short price favourite taking most of the money in the betting and a few out of sorts types and poor horses.
