  1. Re: BBOTD > Thursday 4th July 20.00 Newbury Lisiere - 1PT Win 4/1 William Hill Lisiere hasn't been in the winners enclosure for almost a year now, but she run an excellent race last time out when 3rd behind Smarty Socks in a Class 3 contest at York. Both her wins have come over shorter distances (5F and 6F), however she has run over a mile also so the 7F trip and drop back down to Class 4 company shouldn't provide any issues to the horse.

  2. Re: BBOTD > Wednesday 3rd July 19.00 Fairyhouse Hint of a Tint - 1PT Win Nap 6/1 StanJames A decent looking Group 3 contest at Fairyhouse tonight and plenty in with chances, however one that impressed me last time out was Hint of a Tint in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot. The horse didn't have the best draw in the race and raced in the centre of the course but still finished 5th of the 26 that went to post. Prior to that race at Royal Ascot she was seen in the Irish 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, she finished a neck behind Just Pretending who went on to finish 3rd in the Irish 1000 Guineas, less than 2 lengths behind Just The Judge. She will need to improve to win this, but based on the form shown so far she certainly has the ability to do just that.

  3. Re: BBOTD > Tuesday 2nd July 20.30 Bath The Great Gabrial - 14/1 1PT Win Ladbrokes The Great Gabrial has plenty to prove in this race after 5 disappointing efforts so far this year, however he drops back to 1m for this race and with his Sire Oasis Dream having had a winner over the 1m trip and numerous winners at 7F the shortest distance The Great Gabrial will have encountered in his racing career to date could suit. Last time out he was dropped back to Class 6 company for the first time for a 1m 2f race at Warwick, despite finishing 8th of the 9 runners he was only 6 lengths behind eventual winner Conducting, he only really weakened in the final 1.5F so staying in Class 6 company and dropping down in trip could provide a big run at double figure odds for the Ian Williams trained horse. Blinkers are also fitted for the first time.

  4. Re: BBOTD > Monday 1st July 19.00 Windsor Realize - 1PT Win 4/11 PaddyPower Realize looked the most likely winner of this race prior to two of his biggest dangers (Carry on Clapping and Hand Grenade) being declared as non-runners and this now looked an easy task for him to lose his maiden status. He has been placed in all 3 of his races to date and was only beaten by a neck last time out over C&D. He was beaten that day by Noble Deed who won earlier at Pontefract comfortably just to strengthen the form of that 2nd. Another Name now looks to be his biggest danger, he's a half-brother to Royal Alchemist which indicates he may do better over further.

  5. Re: Best Bet Of The Day Tables ~ June 2013 Yeah but Mowgli if it was Wenger in this competition he'd be looking at a selling stakes race for his selection and hoping for a bargain at the auction expecting him to be at Epsom for the Derby the year after! Cheers everyone, especially BH for running the competition. Great fun, hopefully will carry on posting winners for the board in July and thereafter.

  6. Re: BBOTD Sunday 23rd June 16.30 Windsor Ree's Rascal - 1PT Win 4/1 Totesport Ree's Rascal won well last time out at Newbury over 1m and a similar performance here would put him there or thereabouts. Finished 3rd over C&D back in April, the ground was possibly too soft for him that day and the quicker ground here should suit.

  7. Re: BBOTD - Friday 28th June 19.35 Newmarket Song Light - 1PT Win 9/2 Ladbrokes London Bridge looked set to go off favourite for this race but is now a non runner, and this race looks like an open contest on paper. I am going to side with Song Light for my selection, he won here at Newmarket last month over 1m 4f and kept on well inside the final furlong, so the step up in trip to 1m 5f here shouldn't cause any problems. Last time out at Haydock the horse was dropped back in trip to 1m 2f and finished 4th of 4 so he will need to improve from that effort but stepping back up in trip should be ideal, and with his course form he is a major player here.

  8. Re: BBOTD Thursday 27th June 20.00 Tipperary Zarkiyr - 1PT Win Evens Coral This race looks like a good opportunity for Zarkiyr to record his first win on his fifth start. On his debut last August over 7F he was little over 3 lengths behind Battle of Marengo who has gone on to much better things since, including finishing 2nd in the King Edward VII stakes at Royal Ascot latest. Since that debut run he hadn't shown much improvement until his latest start when being upped in trip to 1m 4f at the Curragh when he was narrowly beaten by Levanto. He stays at the 1m 4f trip for this race and his opposition looks a lot easier than in previous races.

  9. Re: BBOTD Wednesday 26th June 21.10 Bath Dee Aitch Dove - 1PT Win 11/1 StanJames The current favourite in this race is recent C&D winner Cara Gina, however despite winning that race with ease I think she can be taken on. She has been raised 11lb for that victory last time out and she hadn't shown much in her previous starts. One of the bigger priced horses in this race, and my selection is Dee Aitch Dove. Dee Aitch Dove has been running over 6F and drops back in trip to the 5F here which should suit her. She has also been running in better races and drops into Class 6 company. Last time out she was running a big race at Windsor and was perhaps going to sneak into a placing before being hampered inside the final furlong and she eventually finished back in 6th. She can improve on that run here over the shorter distance and looks a huge price at double figures.

  10. Re: Flat Racing - Wednesday 26th June 17.30 Salisbury Jonnie Skull - 1PT Win 8/1 SportingBet Not many of these in this field have won over 6F before, but one that has is Jonnie Skull. Jonnie Skull is a fairly consistent horse, having won 13 and been placed in 34 of his 127 races. The majority of his races have come over 7F, but he has won over 6F 3 times. On his latest racecourse appearance he finished 3rd of 5 at Brighton over todays trip, he perhaps went off in front a bit too soon that day and in a larger field here I can see him running a big race and hopefully gaining win number 14.

  11. Re: BBOTD - Tuesday 25/6/13 18.55 Newbury Kendal Mint - 1PT Win 1/1 Coral Kendal Mint should take all the beating here, she made her debut over C&D on Good to Firm when finishing 3rd, 3 1/4 lengths behind Ligeia. She ran on well inside the final furlong and she should come on well for that race. Of the others with racecourse experience none have any form that comes close to Kendal Mints 3rd over C&D and it will take a good performance from one of the newcomers to prevent her improving on that and winning this race.

  12. Re: BBOTD - Monday 24th June 18.40 Windsor Sebs Sensei - 1PT Win 6/4 Betfred There is an interesting newcomer in this race with Dream Sika making his debut, however with racecourse experience to his name my idea of the winner is Sebs Sensei. He made his debut over 6 1/2F in a Class 4 contest at Newbury earlier this month when finishing 4th of 10. He was a bit one paced towards the end of that race and the drop back in class in this race and also the drop back to just the 6F should suit.

  13. Re: Flat racing - Monday 24th June 19.50 Thirsk Full Speed - 0.5 PTS Each Way 16/1 BetVictor I think the favourite in this race, Enchanted Garden, can be taken on at a short price despite winning his last race by over 3 lengths, he steps up in class here and also has a 6lb rise in the weights to contend with. At a bigger price I like the look of Full Speed, his two previous races this month haven't been too encouraging however that was in Class 4 company last time out and also over a much shorter trip. His form over hurdles and a longer distance is more impressive and on his first race on the flat over 2 miles, he has a chance at a bigger price.

  14. Re: BBOTD - Sunday 23rd June 2013 16.15 Gowran Park Giant's Quest - 1PT Win 4/5 Betfred Giant's Quest finished 3rd last time out in a better race than this today behind Rawnaq, who won on his following start on the flat at Navan which strengthens that form even more. Giant's Quest last win on the flat came back in 2011 but he has been reasonably consistent over jumps and his trainer looks to of found him a race where he can gain his first jumps victory. Ruby Walsh takes the ride which is a positive booking and the ground conditions look ideal considering he has been placed on Good to Firm previously.

  15. Re: Best Bet Of The Day ~ Saturday 22nd June 21.20 Haydock Diamond Penny - 0.5PTS Each Way 12/1 Boylesports Not many of these are a standout bet and a chance is taken with Steve Drownes mount at a bigger price. Diamond Penny is a lightly raced 5 year old who has only had 7 runs since June 2010, however some decent form was shown back then when finishing 4th in a Class 2 race at Ayr over 1 mile. He kept on well in that race and the step up to 1m 2f should suit. He's only been seen on a racecourse once since that race on the all weather where he didn't show much, but on a return to turf he has an outside chance of finishing in the placings.

  16. Re: BBOTD > Friday 21st June 19:00 Newmarket Whaleweight Station - 1PT Win 11/8 Betfred The only horse in this race with racecourse experience and a lot of unknowns with the rest of the field, but on his debut at Leicester over 5F he looked like he would appreciate the step up in trip to 6F which he gets today. The winner of that race, Cable Bay, had finished 4th on his debut at Nottingham prior to that race but the 2nd placed horse in that race was Mawfoor who has gone on to win since and also finished 8th in The Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday. That form indicates that Whaleweight Station's debut was impressive enough to win this race.
