  3. Couple more for me in this ODI. 6pts Over 10.5 sixes 8/11 Paddy Power The boundary to the New Stand side at Trent Bridge is a lot more accessible than most on this ground but that is even more the case today with the wicket slightly towards that side on the square. That will leave a long boundary to the other side of the ground but the straight boundaries aren't all that long at Nottingham so there is going to be one short boundary and two more shortish boundaries to go at. A feature of the series has been how the bat has dominated the ball and the beauty of this game is the bat doesn't really need to dominate the ball for 11 balls to clear the ropes. We saw how the ball can fly here when Alex Hales belted those six successive sixes in the T20 game against Birmingham and I'm firmly expecting it to do a lot more flying in this match. 1pt L.Ronchi Top New Zealand Batsman 14/1 Betway I'm going to stick with Luke Ronchi in this match. We saw at The Oval how well he is hitting it if he gets in early enough and if New Zealand bat second and the ball does a bit under lights then he could well get in with the top score in his sights in this match. Only really Taylor and Williamson have been in any sort of nick for New Zealand in this series so if they were to fail at the same time Ronchi could well be the one to pick up the pieces at a nice price.

  4. Thursday TV preview: 4pts Essex to beat Kent Evs Paddy Power We’ve seen already this season how individual efforts can get Kent home in the odd match but over the course of a season individual efforts will only get you so far and the better team will win more than they lose. For me Essex is that better team so I’ll take them here. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/kent-vs-essex-betting-kent-and-essex-look-to-escape-the-tie-for-top-spot-in-the-south

  6. Thursday/Friday preview: 3pts Peru vs Venezuela - Draw 23/10 Coral I can’t quite work out whether a draw suits both here or suits neither but however it fits with both sides it is the result I can see happening. I think a draw would be a good result for Venezuela and it probably isn’t a bad result for Peru either given that they have a beatable Colombia side in their final match. I’m expecting a tight sort of game here and I like the draw come the end. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/peru-vs-venezuela-betting-venezuela-go-in-search-of-a-quarter-final-place

  7. Thursday preview: 4pts England U21 vs Portugal U21 - Both teams to score 4/5 Betway I thought about backing England but I am conscious that our tournament record at all levels isn’t as strong as it could and perhaps should be and given that this is their opening match of the event and their toughest test in the group stages Southgate’s men might be looking more to avoid defeat than risk going for the win so rather than chance either to win I’m happy to take both sides to score. There are some great attacking players on show in this match and both sides focus their emphasis more on attack than defence and that can lead to both sides finding the net. 8. 4th ODI preview: 5pts England Most 6s 6/5 Coral I backed England to hit the most sixes in Southampton and they did and I’m taking them again here. I think they have a bigger advantage here because the boundary to the New Stand is comfortably accessible for left handers when the ball comes from the pavilion end of the ground and in Morgan and Stokes England have two big hitting left handers. New Zealand only have one in their entire line up and he’s well down the order and we’re not completely sure if he’s a big hitter or not. Take McCullum out of the equation and only Ross Taylor in the top six is a big hitter unlike England where the top eight can all clear ropes at will. That leads me to thinking England will hit the most sixes again here. 9. I've no idea how Ecuador and Chile didn't win those matches :eyes. Wednesday/Thursday am preview: 4pts Brazil vs Uruguay - Over 2.5 goals 23/20 Coral The way the group is going into this set of matches Iâ??m expecting a fairly open game. Weâ??ve already seen how Group A just opened right up and this group is set up to be even more open than that. Colombia canâ??t afford to lose and that should see them open up and be expansive and that might well play right into the hands of even this dogged rather than entertaining Brazil side. With that in mind it is over 2.5 goals for me here. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/brazil-vs-colombia-betting-all-on-the-line-in-world-cup-quarter-final-rematch

  10. 4pts Germany U21 (-1AH) to beat Serbia U21 1.93 BetVictor Ultimately I think Germany might have a little too much for the Serbians in this match. I’m certainly not going to write Serbia off long term at all but Germany have reinforced their squad with some real top level talent at any level and that talent should see them have more than enough to get their campaign off to a winning start. We all know German footballers are ruthless so I can see them being a couple of goals too good here. 11. Tournament preview: 1pt ew Denmark to win U21 European Championship 11/1 Bet365 (1/3 1-2) One side who could provide the value in the outright market are Denmark. They have had a structure in place for a while with various age groups all playing the same tactics and formation from much younger ages. In addition ten of their squad have senior caps including Chelsea defender Andreas Christiansen. Fulham midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen and Bayern Munich’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be two stars of the future too. Denmark went through a competitive group unbeaten in qualifying, scoring 37 goals in the process – the most in the group stage, and then they beat an improving Iceland side so Denmark could be the ones to upset the main two in this tournament. 12. Tournament preview: 1pt ew R.Fowler to win US Open 22/1 Stan James (1/4 1-6) The man I like this week is Rickie Fowler. I think you’ve got to approach this golf course with an ‘I’m going to have fun on it’ attitude rather than an ‘it’s awful I can’t play this course’ one and Fowler certainly has the former. He has the tools to play links golf too. We saw him run Rory McIlroy as close as anyone in The Open last year and if we needed further insurance he ran well at the Irish Open last month. Fowler is an excellent ball striker who can move the ball both ways and he has a wonderful short game which is going to be important this week. At 22/1 he can emulate Martin Kaymer and do the Players/US Open double. 3pts B-H.An Top Asian 10/3 BetVictor 13 Asian players tee the ball up this week but the length of the golf course and the profile of the tournament there are only two I believe can be truly competitive and that is Hideki Matsuyama and Byeong-*** An. In what I believe to be a match I’m going to side with the latter. He has experience of the course having been a semi-finalist in the US Amateur here in 2010 and he is a wonderful driver of the golf ball. He was inside the top 25 in Ireland so he can play links golf and with a superb all round game he can beat Matsuyama to the crown in this market. 1pt ew D.Willett Top Englishman 10/1 Coral (1/5 1-3) 11 Englishman take to the tee this week with the likes of Justin Rose, Lee Westwood, Paul Casey and Ian Poulter getting all the attention but the man who should be feared most is Danny Willett. Willett is playing great golf this year and doesn’t let himself get down when the challenges are tough. In fact if anything I think he relishes the challenges the harder they come. He was superb in really testing conditions in Ireland earlier in the year and has already won a big event in the Nedbank. We know he can compete both in America and in this company because he was a semi-finalist in the WGC Matchplay and shot three under par rounds on debut at Augusta which is no mean feat. He has a good all round game and the right temperament to deliver this week. 1pt ew B.Wiesberger Top Continental European 18/1 Ladbrokes (1/5 1-3) The top Continental European market is a slimline one this week with just 14 men from the continent teeing it up. In all honesty Sergio Garcia has the tools to go well this week but I think it is worth taking him on with someone and the man who has caught my eye is Bernd Wiesberger. The Austrian has been in excellent form recently and only missed out on that Irish Open title in a playoff. If you can get around there under par in those conditions there shouldn’t be a course anywhere that worries you. He made a mess of the first round in Austria last week but confirmed his good form with a wonderful second round and missing the weekend there might not have been the worst thing to happen to him. He’s a long hitter of the ball and the rest of his game is perfectly adequate for this test. With Kaymer likely to have his time taken up elsewhere as defending champion and Henrik Stenson just not quite firing on all cylinders Wiesberger could be the one to take advantage.

  13. 4pts Paraguay vs Jamaica - Over 2.5 goals 11/8 Coral I’m interested to see how Jamaica go in this match. They played a lot better against Uruguay than I thought they would but I couldn’t be any less convinced by Uruguay if I tried so I’ll get a clearer picture in this match. One thing I do like in this game is goals. I don’t think Jamaica looked all that tight at the back and Paraguay have the players to punish them but Argentina’s pace exposed the Paraguayan defence and Jamaica certainly have plenty of that going forward. If they add some composure to that as well then I can see them finding the net but in order to cover the 2.5 line if Paraguay play like they did in the second half against Argentina we might not need Jamaica to find the net at all so I like overs here. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/paragu...the-tournament 4pts Argentina (-0.75AH) to beat Uruguay 1.83 BetVictor If that doesn’t focus Argentina’s mind and bring out their best performance then nothing will. Uruguay looked one paced and laboured against Jamaica and they shouldn’t be much of a threat in this match unless Argentina allow them to be but I’m expecting Argentina to be at their best here and if they are they should win comfortably. 14. Not sure this is a tournament that is going to yield too many bets but there is one I fancy for Monday. 4pts Republic of Ireland to beat China B 4/5 William Hill I like the Irish pair here. They are full of experience and have played in this tournament before and given the stages of the careers of Ken Doherty and Fergal O'Brien chances to play in tournaments like this are getting fewer so I expect them to really be up for this week. China B sees the young pair of Zhou Yuelong and Yan Bingtao team up and while they are both going to be devastating in the future they're not consistent at the minute and this Irish pair should be able to play them nicely because the one thing O'Brien and Doherty are is adept in the safety game. I also think the Irish will benefit from having played before in the doubles. O'Brien has already shown he's still in good nick this season by qualifying for the Australian Open and along with Doherty he can get Ireland up and running on the opening day.

  16. Monday previews: 4pts Ecuador (-1AH) to beat Bolivia 2.00 BetVictor In the end it is easy to be swayed by the recent record between the two sides. Ecuador have won 10 of the last 11 meetings and drawn the other and of those wins three of the last four have been by more than the odd goal so there appears to be a gulf in class between them even if their records in this tournament are very similar. With that in mind I’m happy to jump on Ecuador on a nice looking Asian line. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/ecuador-vs-bolivia-betting-two-sides-looking-for-a-rare-copa-win-collide 4pts Chile (-1.25AH) to beat Mexico 2.03 Bet365 I was surprised with the good attacking positions Bolivia were able to get themselves into against this Mexico side and if Mexico defend like that then Chile will punish them which Bolivia didn’t do. You would have to think Mexico will have to be a bit more expansive in this match as well because a defeat doesn’t help them in any way so I think that could play into Chile’s hands and with that in mind I will take them to prove a bit too strong for an understrength Mexico side and book their place in the knockout stages in the process. Full preview here: https://www.punterslounge.com/chile-vs-mexico-betting-hosts-look-to-book-their-place-in-the-quarter-final

  17. Tournament preview: 1pt ew India to win Snooker World Cup 33/1 Boylesports (1/2 1-2) The side I like are India. It helps that they are in a nice portion of the draw. They sit in the same group as China A but two qualify and the seeds in the next group are only Scotland and Hong Kong so I think there is the potential to come through especially as the second seeds in their own group is Norway where Kurt Maflin is partnered by his wife! I think India have the second strongest second player in their group in Pankaj Advani while Aditya Mehta is solid enough as a lead player and we know the two combine well as a pairing too having flown the flag for India in the Indian Open in years gone by. I’m keen to oppose the favourites given the format and India are a nice price to oppose them all with in a nice portion of the draw. 18. One for this afternoon. 5pts Salford (-10) to beat Wakefield 10/11 Boylesports I was going to leave this match alone but I'm happy to take Salford with them needing to cover only two scores. Wakefield's defence has been pathetic all season so Salford are going to put up points in this match it is just a case of how many. They may well score more than normal because Wakefield miss full back Craig Hall and Richard Owen so that back line is going to be even more exposed. Salford have flattered deceive for so long it is hard to have much faith in them long term but Logan Tompkins should give them something around the ruck which is just the platform Rangi Chase and Theo Fages need to cause havoc. That havoc can lead to Salford covering this handicap and probably win with plenty more to spare.

  19. Taking 3 this afternoon. 4pts Surrey to beat Sussex 11/10 Stan James I mentioned the other night how Sussex look a bowler and a batsman light without Chris Jordan and they were soundly beaten and I think they can be again. Surrey's bowling has gone around the park in this competition but now that Azhar Mahmood and Moises Henriques are in place and established they can sort that area of their game out. Surrey will be without Jason Roy but they've found a decent replacement for the afternoon in Kevin Pietersen and with all that's gone on smashing balls all around a club ground could be right up his street today. There is plenty of other batting in this Surrey side and they look the stronger outfit with the bat and the ball so they look a big price at odds against. 4pts Gloucestershire to beat Middlesex 11/8 Ladbrokes Gloucestershire have never lost to Middlesex in T20 and I'm not convinced they will today either. Middlesex have been going well in recent times but they are without Eoin Morgan and Steven Finn who are away with England while Dawid Malan is injured and he is arguably the biggest loss of the lot because he's the man they all bat around. Gloucestershire have the form batsman in the country in Michael Klinger right now and if a couple of others bat around him then they should go well. Middlesex haven't been the best in this competition historically and without potentially their 3 most important players they look very vulnerable to an always improving Gloucestershire team. 4pts M.Klinger's Performance Pts - 33&Over 5/6 Bet365 I said pretty much everything that needed saying on Friday night and Klinger brought that bet in with another century. He's in amazing form and an absolutely flat deck at Richmond provides the platform for another big knock from the Australian. This line still looks too low even in this format.

  21. Re: World Cup of Darts - 11-14 Jun Better team won. One for me tonight. 4pts Germany to beat Austria 6/5 Ladbrokes Germany look a big price to me here. If Suljovic is on a going night then you would think this will be settled on the doubles but I'm not sure I'd want to trust R-J Rodriguez at odds on to deliver against a couple of very competent players in Artut and Hopp. If Suljovic isn't on a going night then Germany could win this 2-0 if they schedule themselves right so I really like the Germans here and at worst I'd have then as joint favourites. Artut seems to handle the pressure as well as anyone of these four and Hopp in time will be comfortable the most successful of the four players. If Austria play well then I would imagine this is going to be a tight match throughout but they can be either brilliant or useless unlike the Germans who are much more consistent so for me the value in what is a 50/50 match lies with the Germans in front of their home crowd.

  22. Re: England vs New Zealand - ODI Series & T20 International 3rd ODI preview: 4pts England Most 6s 13/10 Bet365 Who knows how this series is going to go next!? I wouldn’t like to predict the winner of this match but I am happy to take England to hit the most sixes. They annihilated New Zealand in the six hitting in the first match of the series and despite New Zealand responding with 13 at The Oval that wasn’t enough either. England hit all the way down now whereas New Zealand rely on certain players to hit their sixes and that can be the difference here. 23. Re: Copa America 2015 Sunday previews: 4pts Colombia (-1) to beat Venezuela 6/5 William Hill I saw a lot of Colombia’s friendly against Costa Rica last week and they dominated the game but couldn’t find the back of the net with more than one of their multiple chances but if they can open up Costa Rica they are likely to do the same to Venezuela and given that this is a competitive match and they have had the last 12 months preparing for this tournament I would expect them to be more ruthless here. If they are they can cover a -1 handicap. Peru showed against Chile not so long ago that they can leak goals and the last thing they need is to concede one early here else this could turn into a rout but I fancy Brazil to get on the front foot early and have a real purpose to send out a statement of intent in this match and they can fast start and not look back in a comfortable win for the Samba Boys.
