  2. Game 4 preview: 4pts K.Pietersen's Performance Pts (vs St Kitts) 32&Over 5/6 Bet365 Pietersen has been in great form with the bat in 2015. He was second top scorer in the Big Bash, belted a triple century in the County Championship and started well here. With catching potential and maybe the odd over of spin a performance target of 32pts is well within his reach. 3. Quarter final 2 preview: 4pts Peru to beat Bolivia Evs Skybet Peru might not have lit this tournament up like they might have been expected to with the quality of their main three players but they were so unlucky not to get something out of Brazil and contained a strong Colombia side so I expect them to contain Bolivia’s attacking exploits and with the quality they have in the forward areas they should have enough to get this one done inside the 90 minutes. 4. Quarter final 1 preview: 4pts Chile to beat Uruguay 3/4 BetVictor Chile do give sides chances as Mexico found out but they see a lot of the ball and have a pressurised style that leads to them playing on the front foot. Fast, skilful, tricky runners with the ball against a slow, immobile defence is a combination that ranks well for Chile and I expect them to come through without the need for penalty kicks. 5. Wednesday preview: 4pts England U21 vs Italy U21 - Under 2.5 goals 4/6 Ladbrokes With that in mind the best bet could be to take under 2.5 goals. Both sides have only scored once in the tournament and I don’t see an avalanche suddenly coming here. England should be stronger defensively and find me an Italian side who can’t defend – they don’t exist! Throw in the extra meaning on the match and we should get a tight one. 6. Game 3 preview: 4pts Jamaica Tallawahs to beat Barbados Tridents 10/11 Betway 1pt A.Russell Top Jamaica Batsman 10/1 Boylesports In fairness to Barbados they have a bowling attack to be competitive against most sides but this Jamaica batting line up is as fearsome as you will find at this level of T20 cricket and that can prove the difference. Jamaica have the batting line up to proceed even if Gayle fails so I’ll take them and just in case he does a small punt on Andre Russell to top score could be worth taking too. 7. T20 preview: 4pts England to win T20 19/20 Boylesports At 10/11 I think England are the call here. They have the better T20 record of the two sides even through an era where they have been rotten in one day cricket and they go into the match with all the momentum from the ODI series so it is the home side for me. 8. Tuesday preview: 4pts Germany U21 to win to nil 19/10 Coral I always find betting on matches where the favourite doesn’t need to win quite tricky but I don’t think this German side can just settle for drawing and going through. A lot more is expected of them than that and as such I think they will push for the win although I wouldn’t expect them to commit silly numbers to get it. Czech Republic don’t have a lot to lose in this match but after their win at the weekend a lot more expectation will be on their shoulders now and they will have to cope with that. I’m sure they will give this a good go but I would expect the Germans to be ruthless and to win the match and most probably do it without conceding too. 9. Decent weekend so far. Hopefully it can finish off well. 4pts J.Pipe to beat B.van de Pas 5/6 Bet365 I'm a big fan of Benito van de Pas as I've made clear on many occasions but this one could be a learning curve for him. He isn't the most experienced at this stage of European Tour events whereas Pipe is a seasoned professional at being around on the final day of them. Just a couple of weeks ago he was in the final of one of these so he knows exactly how to prepare and perform at his best on the final night of these events. Van de Pas picked up the ultimate scalp in the previous round when he dumped van Gerwen out but you often find it hard to get up for your next match when you've climbed Everest so to speak and that is when there is a day in between let alone a couple of hours. Pipe's pace probably won't do van de Pas any favours either so with his experience and the way he played in beating James Wilson yesterday Pipe should be a little shorter than he actually is and represents a decent bet at 5/6.

  11. Two more for the TV game. 4pts Over 10.5 sixes 17/20 Betway I quite like the idea of sixes being hit here. Neither of these sides are particularly good at the death so we should see sixes plundered at the end of the innings and with the likes of Bell, Finch, Maxwell et al up top we should see a few at the top of the innings as well. We saw in the ODI here a couple of weeks ago how accessible the boundaries now are at Edgbaston and on a sunny day I'm expecting the ball to fly. Both sides bat deep and neither have a lights out bowling attack so 11 sixes should be well within reach in this one. 1pt G.Maxwell Man of the Match 8/1 Betway The Big Show is very much a confidence and momentum player and often when his tail is up he keeps his form going for a sustained bunch of matches so it is worth riding him hot off the back of his winning performance on Friday night. We saw him reverse sweep his first ball for six the last time Yorkshire were on the box so we know he doesn't lack for confidence. He adores the spotlight so this should be right up his street. He's a wonderful batsman, capable of winning any game on his own in no time but his off spin is underrated and he's a demon fielder so he has enough going for him to put in a really strong performance here.

  12. One for me this afternoon. 4pts I.White to beat R.Thornton Evs Ladbrokes Ian White was very impressive yesterday apart from on the doubles but I don't so much mind that from him because he has such as solid throw that he isn't going to miss many doubles very often and he was often so far ahead in legs he was under little pressure which can sometimes have a negative effect on concentration rather than a positive one. Robert Thornton got out of a right old hole on Saturday. He looked dead and buried against Tomas Seyler with a lacklustre performance on the doubles and not really particularly inspired scoring. In the end the pressure told on Seyler when the winning line was in sight but it isn't likely to have the same effect on White this afternoon if he gets there so I'll take the Stokie to come through this one and set up a place in the quarter finals.

  13. One for me this week. 5pts Essex to beat Gloucestershire 4/5 Stan James It often takes Essex time to get going in cricket seasons but when the penny finally drops with them they keep hold of it and finish seasons strongly. Ravi Bopara and Ryan ten Doeschate are fully back from the IPL and established back in the side again now and they have Alastair Cook available for this match too before he heads off on an Ashes warm up so Essex are as close to full strength as you're going to get. Gloucestershire are a dangerous side but they can't seem to find any consistency and that is a concern. They have a couple of injury doubts over key batsmen which isn't ideal and are probably no better than Essex anyway so throw in Essex's spell of good form and consistency and the doubts over Marshall and Roderick and I'm firmly with the Eagles this week.

  15. Game 2 preview: 4pts St Lucia Zouks to beat Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel Evs Ladbrokes This should be a really competitive match but I’m going to side with the extra firepower that the Zouks have. You can tell by the players they’ve signed both domestic and from abroad that they are serious about things this season and they have the platform to play up and show what is good about themselves here. Trinidad and Tobago look good with the ball but the likes of Pietersen, Charles, Sammy and Fletcher can take any bowling attack to the cleaners. Trinidad aren’t going to blast sides away with the bat and in the current T20 climate I think power will be big in the early stages of this tournament so it is the Zouks for me. 16. TV game preview: 4pts V.Chopra's Performance Pts - Under 26 5/6 Bet365 Varun Chopra made 80 in the opening match of the Blast this season but he has only made scores of 22, 16, 0, 9 and 2 in Birmingham’s matches since then and he only made 9 against Yorkshire last year too. While Birmingham are going nicely their captain certainly isn’t and he’s up against a top bowling attack here so his performance line of 26 could be beyond him unless an avalanche of catches come his way, which is unlikely. 19. Not my best week :eyes. Will take a 2 ball that is just crying out to be taken today though. 5pts K.Kisner to beat J.Day 5/4 Coral Match tees off at 21.55 BST. In all fairness to Kevin Kisner he could have been a good bet regardless of Jason Day's health but after what happened with Day yesterday the American has to be taken here. Day has been suffering with those symptoms for a while and even if he is absolutely fine starting the round somewhere in his mind must be the worry that he could suffer another attack at any time. I like Day but this would be a really top effort for him to produce another good round this week. I wish him well but I fancy today might be a struggle for him. It certainly is against Kisner because there doesn't appear to be a weakness in Kisner's game. He's long enough to be competitive on the holes you can rip it on and his short game is very good as we saw at Sawgrass. He relishes the big occasion and the big stage suits him down to the ground so it is no surprise that he is featuring strongly this week. Even if you take Day's health out of the picture Kisner is the right bet here. Factor it in and it is just an even stronger bet.

  20. And another match bet. 3pts J.Wilson to beat J.Pipe 6/5 Ladbrokes James Wilson played well in his win over Eddie Dootson yesterday and I fancy him to improve on that performance here. We've seen in the past how sometimes as a heavy favourite he feels the pressure but put him in a nothing to lose situation and he can be dynamite. Justin Pipe is trying to back up a run to the final of the last European Tour event but he didn't play all that well in that tournament. He had a lot of luck with the draw opening up and a couple of opponents melted under pressure to see him through to the final where he got gazumped by MVG. That run might have done wonders for Pipe's confidence but if he plays like he did there in this match I'm confident the Jammie Dodger has enough to overcome him. They've played once this year already and Wilson won that so Pipe's lack of pace isn't likely to put him off so at the prices I'm on the former BDO number one here.

  21. And an early match bet.... 4pts B.van de Pas to beat M.Suljovic 11/10 Boylesports Benito van de Pas is a big price here. Last month he made the semi-final of a pro tour event and since then he has been going well in a couple of others and has run into van Gerwen on both occasions which hasn't been ideal but he has beaten the likes of Kim Huybrechts and Jamie Caven in the last month or so and hit a 9 dart finish so he has been in very good form on the floor. He is seeded here which might bring its own pressure but he's good enough to cope with that. Mensur Suljovic is solid enough but he can produce rotten darts and brilliant darts - often in the same leg! There's no doubt Suljovic is competent but to have him as a standout favourite in this match is a little extreme so I will take the ever improving Dutchman as the value call here.

  22. One outright bet before the last 32 gets underway. 1pt ew T.Jenkins to win International Darts Open 28/1 Betfred (1/2 1-2) Terry Jenkins looked in really good form in the last European Tour event a couple of weeks ago and I think he has the draw to go even better this weekend. Jamie Lewis will take a little bit of beating in the last 32 but seeds are always slightly vulnerable in the last 32 given that the qualifier plays a match on the Friday and the seed doesn't but if he comes through that there shouldn't be a lot in his way. A umber of the big hitters are giving this week a miss to prepare for Japan and of those who are here Jenkins has dodged Chisnall, Bunting and van Gerwen which has to be considered a boost. He looks to have a nice path to the semi-finals at least so at 28/1 Jenkins is well worth following this weekend.
