Credit to Humphries but he's had some help these last two rounds. Talking of near misses, Cullen went ahead in the final set with the first 100+ checkout of the match. At that point, I thought I might hit the 10/1 for the win and most 100+ checkouts but it wasn't to be. 

I think most players 'have some help' along the way to win this. You need abit of luck sometimes. He showed great bottle there several times. I feel sick for Cullen and that's despite having a bet on Humphries to win the whole thing.

He is getting better each round, which is a good thing to be doing. His scoring wasn't there and nor was his doubling. The scoring is now back. That's the same average as was MVG was. Bunting didn't turn up against MVG. We've not seen MVG been tested yet and we have seen Humphries tested and come out the other end. That's the thing.
I think he beats Chizzy and I think MVG comes through too. Id put it 60/40 MVG in that match. If this was any event but the worlds then I would say Humpries wins it.

That's pretty much my thought process in a sentence. As you say things have been missing from his game and there has to be a reason for that and most likely it's the occasion getting to him. He'd be better off treating it like a minor tournament that isn't important.

MVG hasn't been tested because he's scored and doubled well. He's comfortable here. I don't go in for the line you always hear about you want to be tested and if you haven't been it's a negative.

You don't go out there to gradually get better but you do see it alot in tournaments where a player gradually improves to win a tournament. 

Cross looks really good at the moment. I think if he beats Dobey then he also beats Anderson and makes the final.
Infact imo he is the favourite to win the event in my opinion. 9/1 looks a good price while it lasts

blimey, the end of the second set was shocking  Chizzy hitting D1 after missing about 10 set darts.

Yeah, he hasn't turned up at all. Chizzy has had a nice run of players not doing that. Tbh, Chizzy vs Humphries would be a strange Quarter Final as neither has played well but perhaps that shows their quality of digging out matches.

Well that likeliness went out the door. I don't know why I didn't foresee the probability of Iga to win Aussie O before I placed todays bet. I belive it's where she stands now with current capacity. She already has reached the semi in Melbourne and sooner or later she will win this GS to. The final awaits her and only Coco can stop her as the years go by.

Hurkacz plays today in the United Cup, he's 13/8 with Skybet to have the most aces in 2024, nearest challenger in the betting is Opelka, who has postponed his comeback again and looks unlikely to mount a challenge to the big Pole. Am happy to throw a few quid on Hubert considering his complete annihilation of the field last year, finishing over 500 aces ahead of his nearest challenger.

That was an evisceration. I can't complain too much as I'm on MVG in the outrights, but Bunting was nowhere near it. To be 5-10 points lower than your average in previous matches means you've got no chance. I didn't think he could step up against MVG and it's fair to say I wasn't wrong.

A disappointing evening in the end. Promised much but delivered little with three blowouts.

Wouldn't put you off the Van Peer bet at all. It's hard to know what we'll get with Heta as he has only played one match in this. I've only really sided with him because the one guarantee we have is that he'll outscore Van Peer. However, we know how bad Heta can be at doubling.
