  1. Re: Murtagh to leave Ballydoyle De Sousa has same problem as Hanagan. No experience on group horses.I don't think he's even ridden a group winner. Whoever gets the job will have ridden in and won plenty of Group 1's. T Queilly , R Moore , C Soumillon , P Smullen , J Heffernan ( don't know why his name is ever mentioned ? )

  2. Re: Murtagh to leave Ballydoyle Don't understand why Soumillon would be a mistake ? Me i'd like to see Tom Queilly , very impressed with his rides on the Cecil horses over the past couple of seasons.Despite Cecil having one of his best seasons in recent years , he doesn't have the firepower of the past , so the lure of a stable full of group performers may be attractive to him. He also has plenty of experience of riding in group races which is one of the essential qualities they are looking for.

  3. Re: Why do British horses so rarely succeed in the most prestigious racing event? British horses are mainly bred to race on turf whereas the Dubai World Cup is on dirt. If a horse was good enough to compete i'm sure it would be sent over.Remember Running Stag about 12 years ago ? As a lot of the best horses are owned by middle eastern based owners i'm sure its a case of horses not being good enough for the surface. I do know that the O'Brien/Magnier/Tabor combination do boycott the Dubai meetings. They never send any of their stars over , i think they don't see eye to eye with the arabs/ Sheikh Mo'.

  4. Re: Do You Go Racing? Used to go often several years , then i realised i was wasting time and effort for the following reasons: You cannot get a good view of horses sometimes either in paddock area or of the track. Its expensive to get in and for refreshments.(burger/chips/coke £7.50 Chelt) Some bookies offer poor prices with low max payouts and poor place terms sometimes. Parking is extra , and it takes ages to get out of the course after racing. At the Cheltenham Festival had to queue 30mins to take a leek. Not saying going racing is rubbish ,some courses have good facilities and some offer good value . However I find i can get the best out of punting in front of my computer.Form at touch of a button and good tv coverage.

  5. Re: Who's gonna win the St Leger ? In '03 Frank Spencer was 1st jockey and rode Brian Boru. In '05 K Fallon was 1st jockey and stayed in Ireland to ride Virginia Waters in the Gr1 Matron Stakes who came 3rd behind Attraction , and more importantly he rode Oratario in the Irish Champion to beat Espsom hero Moivator for the scond time. J Murtagh is in Ireland today maybe because of Zoffany's future potential and also for an Irishman wouldn't the Irish Ledger be more important than the English Ledger ?Only my opinion here on these two points.

  6. I took 2/1 on Rewilding straight after his Great Volitger win , hopefully he'll do the business on saturday.Ladbrokes were the biggest price on the high street up untill this week. Now the're the shortest @ 11/8. Can see it going off @11/10 once all the grannies pile on board on saturday. Anyone willing to lay Rewilding ?

  7. Re: Graham Bradley to ride at Doncaster I have never ridden on a racehorse so i cannot give an answer which will back me up 100% , however the way i see it is that Fallon tipped it to lose and did not expect to be so far in front with so much horse underneath him.At the 3 furlong marker he did everything he could to ose the race bar blatently pull the horse. I don't want this to be a debate as this is old news anyway , it was only resurected by them turning a blind eye when it came to giving Bradley a opportunity to ride. I'm sure there are people who haven't seem the Ballinger Ridge ride may agree with me once they've seen it on youtube.

  8. Re: Graham Bradley to ride at Doncaster K Fallon should have got banned for his Ballinger Ridge ride. The week before he told an undercover journalist that the horse would not win.In the race he was 10 lengths in front 3 out and he did the best he coud to get himself beat.Just look at the 3 furlong marker and the motion of all the other jockeys.I think (not 100%)the journalist was Maz Mamhood (aka fake Sheikh) who also exposed Sarah ferguson and John Higgins recently. Shame the race is not on Racing post but you'll find it on youtube

  9. Re: Graham Bradley to ride at Doncaster Seems to be one rule for big names one rule for the little people. Some jobless person claims a few quid more than they're entitled to and they get the full force of the law.A jockey / trainer commits fraud the authorities turn a blind eye. We should follow the far east's example , severely punish corruption. I think it was either Gary carter or Gary Hind who got 3 years ban in Singapore for not riding a proper finish a few years back.Punishment like that should ensure people think twice.

  10. Why has he been selected to ride in the Legends charity race at Doncaster this week? I find it distasteful that they have allowed him to have a one off ride in aid of charity. This guy was warned off for a few years for corruption earlier this decade.Surely there is a gamut of newly retired jockeys which they could asked such as M Kinane , J Reid , P Niven , J Weaver , K Darley etc. It stinks of nepotism it me. This is the guy who pulled up a long odds on shot in a two horse back in the nineties. And yes i did tank it.

  11. Re: Each way betting Interesting reply BH , what would it take to get an account anyway?( for curiosity) I've never had a winning year in 20+ years of gambling. But i recall several years back i had 3 successful £20EW bets on Pricewise selections in 2002 with Skybet.Next thing i know they reduce my pricewise selections to £10EW !! After i lost what was in my account i didn't bet with them anymore. I take it you worked for W H's , what is their policy on pricewise selections?
