Re: The Jockey Thread Jimmy2shoes : great post. I applaud no nonsense truth speakers. Aidymac : you say I talk shite all the time . For somebody who polices the forum with his online truncheon , is that an acceptable way to conduct yourself ? By the way I am not offended in anyway. Carry on saying that , I would prefer that if thats how you feel. Champion jockey ...Richard Hughes. I agree with Jimmy , he does not deserve praise. The criteria of determining the best jockey is not best served by the championship. I am not in any way saying R Hughes is not a top jockey , he is , although he is very lazy when all chance of a win has gone. Ryan Moore is the best and gave the title away.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Forgot to add. The RP deactivates the comments section when corruption stories and poor ride stories are reported. Isn't that censoring ?
-
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread I haven't read the paper version , I hope it is more detailed . Is it right for 2 mods to hurls insults at me?

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread
I am referring to members wanting some aspects of the sport not discussed. Aidymac says we are not allowed to critisize jockeys because they risk their life . I don't care whether you censor my posts thats not my point. Why should I get banned , have I done anything to warrant such measures? The two stories read differently , one implies guilt and the RPs version ommits the incriminating facts .This is the censorship I'm on about. Do you think the watered down version of the RP is an accurate news item ? A lot of people use the RP as the primary source of information . Is it Ok for Billyhills and Aidymac to hurl abuse at me ? Can you do something about it?I dont think you have any idea of the meaning of the word censorship erhaab. Your posts remain in their original form yes? Unedited and not deleted? You havent been locked up for airing your views on punters lounge have you? You clearly havent been banned as you are still posting There is no censorship on punters lounge as you imply in your post about the "mentality of some on here" Two different publications choose to report the same story differently, but both reported the story....no censorship -
Re: The Jockey Thread It boils down to you and Billyhills hurling petty insults.

Re: The Jockey Thread TOTALLY NEGATIVE DRIVEL ?We cannot control negativity. It is not our fault jockeys ride poor races. We are commenting on that . Whats wrong with that ? Nothing !! I recall Jimmy praising very highly horses like Canford Cliffs , is that negative? I have praised Sam Waley Cohen , Salemm Golam , SDS , Jenny Powell , Paul Hanegan , Rosie Jessop amongst many others , so there is no basis for your attack. Most of my posts are topical , which is just like any other form of news media. David Cameron gets more news coverage than the local MP of Accrington Stanley. Therefore using the same logic R Hughes gets more posts than Willie Twiston Davies. Yes ? R Hughes rides in much more prominent races and therefore when he rides a poor race , we can say so yes? Or are you still of the opinion that because he is champion jockey , won Gr1s , broke his ankle we cannot say anything negative about him just like what you say about AP McCoy. Aidymac , when you turn on the news isn't it 95% bad news except for the very last news item . That is news !! Censorship of news is a crime. We need more honesty on here.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Why are your responses to my posts always personal attacks? Can you differentiate the difference between topical news items and sour grapes ? Why include orgasm and saddo ? These are amongst a long list of insults you have directed at me. Lets keep these threads topical and not go down the line of primary school behavior. I see you are 53 , please act your age. What is your view on censorship on the sport ? I am totally against it.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread You are going to say Young Joseph is top class you are not being honest. Or you need to reconsider what top class actually means. Ryan Moore is top class, so was Michael Kinane and Johnny Murtagh. Is Young Joseph in the same class?
-
Re: The Jockey Thread I applauded your honesty Jimmy. I respect honest reporting and opinions. If you think I'm a w@nker and you say it to my face, I will respect you for it. If you are polite to my face and then tell every Tom, Dick and Harry I'm a w@nker behind my back then......... This section needs more honesty. By the way, i know you really like Richard Hughes. But what you said about Scudamore and Harley, I think the same about Hughes .He gave his mounts sh!t rides in a few Gr1s last week. Same with Young Joseph on Champions Day. They paid 6 million for Chiquita and Young Joseph hit the front in the final furlong only to veer wide again and lose the race. Kinane and Murtagh would not have made that mistake for a second time. I've been saying this for 4 years now, Ryan Moore...Ballydoyle. Top class horses needs a top class jockey. Young Joseph is not top class yet.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread There's a huge difference between the Racing Post's reporting and that of the Sporting Life. I read the RPs versions few hours ago and it left some doubt as to the intention of the trainer. Again there as is often with these types of stories they disable the comments section. How sad they choose to censor the negative aspects of the sport, they have the same mentality as some on here. I have just followed your link to the Sporting Life and this version leaves no doubt it was foul play by the trainer. If the SLs version is credible then they should do a Howard Johnson on him and banish him from the sport. A E6000 fine is a joke to a trainer its peanuts. As a few of us debated a few days ago, certain sections of the Racing media are too sycophantic . We don't want censored and watered down news. Well done Sporting Life. I'm sure there'll be some members who will say its not right exposing somebody on a forum, on TV, in the newspapers and on the SL. Especially as he has trained a Gr1 winners and does a public service blah blah. I say well done. Now let's get all the other crooks

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Kieren Fallon responded by crying in his weekly column of the The Weekender ( UK horse racing weekly paper) with what you said about never having ridden a horse. So now you agree we can critisize them on TV?
-
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread Why have you equated unbiased reporting to media bashing of sports personalities? There's a huge difference. Would you like biased reporting about the troubles in Northern Ireland? Would you like to read a censored version of events? One that paints a pretty picture?
-
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread
Absolutely yes , if it warrants it 100%. Who says you can't do it to their face live on TV ? What makes them untouchable? If you can do it to David Cameron ( British Prime Minister) or the police then why not a jockey ? We are descending into the realms of politics . What you are suggesting is very very dangerous and idiotic. ( nothing personal just your comment not you)You are entitled to criticise them' date=' but [b']not to their face live on TV you're not. I am all for criticism, but you are implying they could be criticised live on tv. -
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread All I am asking for is unbiased reporting. Not slagging people off. Is that so hard for you guys to understand?
-
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread That is absolutely rubbish. Because somebody is champion jockey there should be immune from criticism because they risk their life? Rubbish. You don't understand my point Aidymac. So if you have never driven an F1 motor car you cannot pass comment? If you have never been to War you cannot comment on the Iraq war? Rubbish

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread
I would very much welcome more unbiased criticism . If jockeys throw their toys out of the pram , well thats the consequence of it. I certainly don't want to listen to mates looking after each other . I want professional analysis . Bowing to trainers and jockeys by presenters is disgusting . They need to be professional. I'm sure some of the members on here have watched News Night on BBC2 and seen Jeremy Paxman ask politicians awkward questions to which they refuse to answer or even get up and leave. That is journalism . Getting to the truth. I am not saying presenters should say things like this jockey smells or that jockey is rubbish . I want frank and candor analysis . If there has been a poor ride we should hear it and not rubbish like the best horse on the day won. If I want bullsh!t I will buy the Daily Mail. You might think its acceptable to hear only good things about AP McCoy , R Hughes . Well a lot of us don't . I respect them as jockeys but if you expect comments viewed through rose tinted glasses , it wont be coming from me.Maybe if they slagged jockeys off they wouldn't get any interviews or guests on their programme?? Notice how AP doesnt appear on Racing UK much....wonder why? Lydia and Steve criticised him one day at Cheltenham for not trying. On ATR his mates Luke Harvey and Micky Fitz look after him. -
Re: The Trainers Thread Good to see M Tregoning have a winner on Champions Day. He has had a tough time since Sheikh Hamdans support huge support dwindled to a small handful.
-
Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread I'm thoroughly enjoying the Champions Day racing at Ascot. great to see Noble Mission win the main event.I think it would be better if it was held a few weeks earlier to get better ground . Not liking some of the presenting. Clare Balding is kissing butt as usual. Rikshi asking pointless questions as normal . I remember last month when he asked James Doyle what it meant to win an Ayr Gold Cup. What a pathetic question .Its a class 2 handicap not a classic. I'm disliking the fact they never say a poor ride has been given . A big name jockey made a tactical on fav in a Gr1 and they don't rip into him . Instead they say " the best horse on the day won...".

Re: The Jockey Thread Wonderful to see A Atzeni win yet another G1, that's 3 on the space of a month. I think he's a very very promising young jockey. In my opinion he will be a top jockey in the coming years. Also great to see Young Joseph win a Gr1. I know he's won plenty but this will boost his confidence after a few poor Gr1 efforts in recent weeks. Another top jockey in the making. As for the other Gr1 yesterday,it was won by W Buick, an established top jockey. Great to see him and Godolphin win.
-
Re: Apprentice watch a very well done to apprentice Kevin Stott for riding a double for the prestigious Godolphin operation. It is only in recent times they have used apprentices. So for them to use him shows how much they rate him. He's worth keeping an eye on.

Re: Daily Racing Chat Thread
I was very pleased to see Treve win, she has confirmed she is a superstar. Not very happy that on her 3 beaten starts this year her trainer did not suggest there was anything wrong with her before the race, whether she needed the run or the trip was a bit short or whatever. The sport is not run for the punters but it is us who wager millions each race. Punters got burnt big time following her this year. Going into the race you could not back her with confidence based on this year's form.Nah not having that fella, punters were mugged off again, connections were saying they didn't know what was wrong with the horse, then yesterday she was happy telling everyone just what the problem was, once again ''those in the know KNEW'' and the others were in the dark, i fully understand as a punter horses are not run for US, but i feel they knew exactly what they were doing, as they always do. Only had a small bet on the race so not talking out my pocket, ''for once'' And full credit to the horse, and anyone who backed it. Also strange how Dettori got jocked off. -
Re: The Jockey Thread D Tudhope , a Gr2 last weekend and today wins the Gr1 L'Abbaye . A fantastic come back having struggled to get rides soon after losing his claim , in my opinion he is a top class jockey in the making . Watch out for him.
-
Re: The Trainers Thread Another Gr1 this time in the L'Abbaye. A Gr2 last weekend. An up and coming young trainer , one to watch out for. Absolutely fantastic.

Re: The Jockey Thread Remember Camelot a couple of seasons back ? There was plenty of media attention about Camelot's triple crown attempt , having won the first 2 legs and was about 2/5 for the St Ledger. He came second to a 33/1 shot. If he had won , Coolmore may have retired him as he would have been worth 10s of millions. But instead they had to carry on racing in the hope to restore his reputation. Sadly his form went downhill as can happen to top horses who have had tough campaigns.
