Jennings obliges (no joy for the other honourable mention) so might as well take advantage of the rare opportunity to update while in the black!
15 winners from 33 bets* (45.45%), +1.73 points with an ROI of 5.24%
*last update should have said 14 winners from 32 bets, not 33.

2-0 to Kilmarnock on cards. 1-1 for KP so far this season. +0.1 to level stakes, +1.2 to advised stakes.

Anyone interested in this for another season? I suppose I could be tempted to do it again if there's a bit of demand, especially as I'm trying to beat him at his own game in the "Nice work..." thread!
Reminder of how last season unfolded here, first selection to follow.

4 winners from 5 bets today makes for a less unpleasant update. Shame Gale didn't manage to make it a full house.
10 winners from 24 bets (41.67%), -1.85 points with an ROI of -7.73%

Well done on Woodland. Missed the original post unfortunately so didn't get involved.

Maidenhead v Hartlepool: Tarpey to score at 2/1 with 365 (2.9)

2 tries for Nightingale so another short priced winner. Not sure if these occasional winners should be taken as encouraging or seen as giving false hope but we persevere till at least 100 selections!
Next bet is Liverpool v Watford: Firminho to score at 9/5 with PP (2.7)

Super start by Gary to be Tied 3rd after round 1
But with the late starters like him due to be at a possible disadvantage today, will take a guaranteed profit now of 22pts with a buy at 25

My next bet is two points on Rory McIlroy to win the USPGA Championship at 8.20 at Smarkets. He's won at this venue twice before and also holds the course record. His form is good with top five finishes in his last two starts so all things considered I'd say he's a justified favourite.

Probably need more than a hundred bets to see if this is working given the prices. As always best of luck.

Narrowly swerved what would have been a decent return from a couple of split stakes bets on the Celtic game yesterday, hopefully these two oblige to ensure I don't regret it.
Bets 11 and 12 are in the Women's Euros final. 1 point each on:
>1.5 Holland women cards at 7/4 and >1.5 Denmark women cards at 17/20, both with 888
Having looked at this angle and all the various card markets for the game I've gone with these 2 on the basis that I can't see at least one team not earning the ref's disapproval on a couple of occasions. My starting point was 2-3 cards each at 17/10 and 5/4 with Hills. Obviously it's a no-brainer to favour 7/4 for >1.5 Dutch cards and I'll take the odds on price for the Danes to eliminate the small risk of them going >3. Honourable mention for 365's offering of 1.85 for >3 AH cards (a push if exactly 3). I considered including that in some way.

Just the one winner but at least it was the bigger priced one.
6 winners from 12 bets, +5.95 points with an ROI of 59.5%.
To level stakes, +6.2 points with an ROI of 51.67%.

Not exactly off to a flyer with just a Sinclair goal from the 5 bets, so 2.8 points down so far.
One less winner would have made it a wipeout, one more winner a small profit. Let's take a glass half full view and hope things improve over time.

I'm being a bit ambitious embarking on a second system but, as the other one only involves one bet a week, I'll risk it!
Been thinking about this for a while, going to give it a go with a 100 point bank staking 1 point per bet. I'll be backing all selections to at least a tenner.
This is a purely objective system with very simple criteria and involves bets that I can spot without doing anything different to my normal approach. I just want to see how they fare.
Will look to run for at least 100 bets. Selections will be posted as early as possible but as late as 5 minutes before kick off (being dependent on confirmed line ups before bets can be identified).
Bets 1 and 2 are in the Super Rugby final, Lions v Crusaders.
Smith to score a try at 5/2 (VC or PP) Indicative price is 2.92 and should be no more than 3.22
Kriel to score a try at 3/1 (Hills or PP) 3.22 to 3.4

Wozniacki lost in the final. Carrying some sort of injury by all accounts but then so was her opponent. That's the trouble with longer-term bets in tennis - you can't legislate for injuries. Some work for me to do to get back into profit as I'm now 15 points down. At least it's going well for you Harry.

Thanks guys and good luck Torque. The challenge now is to try and stay in the black and build on that good result.
At least, with the domestic season ramping up, their should be no shortage of decent bets.

Great stuff Harry. I'm going to make my 'weekend' bet now and hope I don't tempt fate by saying it. I'm putting 10pts on Caroline Wozniacki to justify favouritism and win the WTA Tennis tournament in Bastad at 2.87 with Paddy Power. The Dane plays tomorrow in the quarter-final and is a strong favourite to win meaning that she should still be in the tournament come Saturday. It hasn't been an easy ride for her so far after two three-set victories, but she's generally quite reliable in minor tournaments like this and has won plenty of them in the past. She should make the final here at least where she will most likely face Garcia, a player who has never beaten her before although it's only fair to say they've never met on clay. I'd still back her to win though due to her greater experience of playing in finals and winning them.
