310 Newmarket The Bunbury Cup is one of the most competitive handicaps of the season here at Newmarket. We have 20 runners declared and last years winner Heavens Guest is in the line up carrying two pounds more. Richard Fahey’s other runner Rene Mathis is interesting with Paul Hanagan in the saddle and he fits the profile of Fahey’s two winners of this race. Chill The Kite will have his supporters as will the veteran Field Of Dream who won this in 2013. Another one to consider is Bronze Angel who was a decent 7th in the Hunt Cup at Ascot and just behind him was the Luca Cumani horse Ayaar who has Frankie Dettori booked, he was well backed that day and will be looking for compensation now back at 7f. 2.50 Haydock Park The Old Newton Cup is a tough handicap to win and the trends will tell us you ideally need a 4yo carrying less than 9st trained by Luca Cumani. Well, step forward Penhill who fits all of that criteria. Won first time out for the yard at Ascot and then last time flopped when heavily backed at Newmarket after failing to settle. This big field should help and remains well handicapped. Of those higher up in the weights I like the Johnston horse Watersmeet and his other runner Notarised could go well at a big price. For the competition i'll side with Notarised as i need a big priced winner, he is 4, carries under 9st and is in good nick. Notarised 20/1 Bet365/BetVic

2:15 Wolverhampton: Baileys Pursuit @ 11/1 bet victor win thanks Baileys Pursuit.......from Christine Dunnett yard the 3yo still looking for a AW win after running 6 times on that surface but did find a win on the 7 turf races she's ran, Her last two runs have been here over 6f and last race 7 days ago over 7f getting in the frame both times 2nd at 6f and 3rd at 7f . The yard are dropping to 5f for today a distance it ran 3 times but only once on AW at Kempton as its first race on a racetrack as 2yo when with Chris Dwyer yard , For me I feel the Dunnett yard are looking for long term action on AW and are still looking for the best distance to go as there dropping to 5f and having blinkers on for first time with Jimmy Quinn in saddle again

8.00 Curragh: Handicap (60-100), 1m 2f With top weight Royal Navy Ship out, this race takes a different shape. Nonetheless it doesn't change much in terms of my initial feeling, that Bolger's grey colt Algonquin is overpriced. I would expect him to be ready and fit for his seasonal debut, and if he is he'll take all the beating in a mediocre field. Given that his Dundalk maiden win works out very strongly, he could be well handicapped with an opening mark off 87. That assumes he takes another step forward with the 10f trip very much to suit this extremely well bred colt. Main danger could be Pullman Brown who finished 2nd in a very competitive Handicap over course and distance recently. He's to overcome a rather hefty rise in the mark though. N3.30 Bakht A Rawan 28/1 Skybet This ones good run at the course over slightly further suggests that the horses chance here is better than its price would suggest. It also appears that the low drawn horses sometimes have quite an advantage at this trip in decent ground so the draw of 3 of 15 could be a good one. Well bred and trainers runners have been going better lately, he had his first winner of the season just a couple of weeks ago.

420 Newmarket: Humidor 14/1 Coral/Bet365 Everything went wrong for this one at Epsom last time, missed the break and then got hampered at least twice when making headway. Has been in decent form and should run well here at Newmarket which surprisingly he has never visited before. Won at Goodwood, Brighton and run well at Epsom so should be able to handle the dip and looks fair value against a warm favourite in Double Up and especially now the second fav is out.
