  1. Fabio Fognini (+1.5 sets) to beat Ugo Humbert at 2.07 with Unibet Happy to back Fognini for a set again after yesterday. Humbert is quite similar to Sonego style-wise.
  2. Fabio Fognini (+1.5 sets) to beat Lorenzo Sonego at 1.86 with Unibet Fognini has been doing Fognini things so far this week, and with quite some success, so I imagine he'll be pumped up against his compatriot. I don't exactly trust him to win, as he can go insane at times, but a set at 1.86 is a proposition I very much like.
  3. Christopher O'Connell to beat Hamad Medjedovic at 1.80 with Bet365 I honestly still don't like Medjedovic indoors all that much, O'Connell tends to be far more stable with his baseline game, and, based on the most recent results, I also think there's a slight chance that Medjedovic is already checked out from this season.
  4. Marcos Giron to beat Lorenzo Sonego at 1.91 with Bet365 Looking at Sonego's recent record, it seems to me that this price is based on his name and reputation only. He's been very poor in recent months, while Giron, with his hard-working attitude, has achieved many good wins, including over guys like Ruud, FAA, and Lajovic. Of course, the conditions should be to Sonego's favour, but that factor alone shouldn't be enough for Sonego to be the favourite.
  5. Rebecca Marino to beat Jana Fett at 1.84 with Unibet Marino played a long match against Arango yesterday, but, if she's okay physically, she should be a bigger favourite in this one I'd say. Fett has been playing below the WTA level all year long, while Marino is losing mainly against players that are performing on the WTA circuit. Her serve is also a big asset in these conditions, and, if she was able to hold her own in rallies against Arango, she should definitely have the upper hand in rallies against Fett.
  6. Great call on McDonald there @Duffyduck74!
  7. Marketa Vondrousova to beat Ons Jabeur at 1.66 with Unibet A bit unlucky with Rybakina, but there you go. I'll go with Vondrousova over Jabeur today, as the latter was just hopeless against Gauff, while the Czech actually played a decent match to build on against Swiatek despite the second set scoreline.
  8. Elena Rybakina (-1.5 sets) to beat Maria Sakkari at 2.12 with Unibet I think this is worth a play above 1.90. Sakkari was awful against Sabalenka, she even started to cry at one point, and I don't think that she'll recover for this one. Rybakina was playing well in Asia, and her power-based style should do the trick as it did for Saba.
  9. Beatriz Haddad Maia to beat Caroline Garcia at 2.20 with Bet365 Haddad Maia doesn't really look like the underdog to me here, she finally looked completely healthy against Keys, and I think that her level was perhaps slightly higher than Garcia's in her match against the American. Not a big edge, but I see this as a coin-flip, with perhaps a very minor edge for Haddad Maia.
  10. Lin Zhu (+1.5 sets) to beat Ludmilla Samsonova at 2.04 with Unibet Despite Zhu having some minor medical issues against Kudermetova, I like the odds for her getting at least a set against Samsonova, who's yet to begin her Elite Trophy campaign. She was playing incredibly determined tennis against Kudermetova, and it really feels like she's the home underdog that will get some upsets, perhaps even several after the first one. She's improved massively this year, and it's never easy to say which Samsonova will turn up.
  11. @four-leaf I understand that you felt really strongly about Shelton, but let's not throw around the "guaranteed" word in betting discussions.
  12. Elizabeth Mandlik to beat Ann Li at 1.98 with Unibet From what I've seen, Li has been rather shaky recently, and Mandlik is certainly more talented than her as well. She should be able to push Li in these conditions with her superior power, and upsetting Stearns in the first round should be a big confidence booster for her.
  13. Renata Zarazua to beat Emina Bektas at 2.00 with Unibet Bektas has been semi-injured for a while, and Zarazua, in home conditions, has the right playing style to take advantage of that I'd say. She can run and play longer rallies all day long, and she also tends to perform reasonably well in Mexico, so I'm honestly not sure what makes her the underdog here.
  14. Christopher O'Connell to beat Sebastian Baez at 1.77 with Unibet Baez isn't really a player that you'd like to back indoors, and Christopher O'Connell also already has 2 qualifying wins under his belt here, which is a major plus. Baez did beat him last time out, but the form book is on O'Connell's side, and I think he's improved more since then as well.
  15. Elena Gabriela Ruse to beat Tamara Korpatsch at 1.57 with Unibet Tamara looked rather nervous against Lys in the previous round, and she wasn't even playing that well, so I don't exactly believe that she'll turn up in a better form in the finals. Ruse has been flying through, meanwhile, and she'll get the crowd support as well, so I like her chances here.
  16. Nothing safe there, but I'd go with Kotov at the higher odds! Good luck regardless! Clara Burel (+1.5 sets) to beat Elise Mertens at 1.70 with Unibet Backing Burel again, this time to win at least a set. She's looked very good all week long, and fitness shouldn't be an issue given that the match against Stefanini was very short and without many longer rallies. Mertens has been up and down recently, she can go from great to poor in a matter of a set, and that's kinda what I'm banking on here as well.
  17. Clara Burel to beat Lucrezia Stefanini at 1.54 with Unibet Stefanini came under quite some pressure against Kawa, the scoreline was actually fairly misleading, and Burel shouldn't choke as much as Kawa did when it gets tough. Beating E. Andreeva in a long match should be a bit of a confidence booster for her as well.
  18. Jodie Burrage to beat Tamara Korpatsch at 1.53 with Unibet I didn't trust Korpatsch against Bai and I don't trust her against Burrage either. Burrage has been playing well recently and she has the right mix of aggression to put Korpatsch against more pressure that she can handle, especially indoors.
  19. Mai Hontama to beat Nadia Podoroska at 1.90 with Unibet Hontama managed to beat Podoroska in straight sets not that long ago in Osaka, and I can definitely see a repeat of that here. Hontama is just too patient for Podoroska, who oftentimes errors herself out of the contention by pushing too hard.
  20. Jessica Pegula to win WTA Seoul 2023 at 1.73 with Bet365 Clearly the best player left in the field, playing well at the moment, and she's also getting the crowd support due to her Korean heritage. Happy to pick this up even at short odds.
  21. Qinwen Zheng to beat Anhelina Kalinina at 1.67 with Bet365 Zheng has improved massively since her loss against Rybakina, and I expect her to continue producing good performances, like the one against Sakkari. Kalinina wasn't too convincing against Zvonareva, she just benefitted from the veteran's not-so-great fitness in tough conditions, but that isn't something she'll benefit from against Zheng, who is looking very fit at the moment (and there will be a day off for both anyway). I'm not a big fan of Kalinina at the moment, and I'm happy to oppose her here.
