  1. Re: Algeria vs Zimbabwe Denisl, there is a major difference between the situations BF were in today and Algeria are in tomorrow. BF could only hope for a favourable outcome in the second match (at the same time) and even then they would have needed what you might describe as a cricket score. Tomorrow, though, Cameroon can't just sit back and play for the draw as if Algeria win, then Alg. would win the group. Truly, any outcome in the second match means they need just a draw and they are able to get it. It's very dangerous to depend on a side with nothing to play for (Zimb) against a side with a very good chance to get through.

  2. Re: Senegal v Mali You can read my thoughts below, Mr Intensity. Anyway, I guess the danger of a draw is so high that even is you fancy it, the 1.70 for Mali to qualify should be the call. I backed the draw in today's game (Guinea) and won, but still even I can't read the game or whatever, but this all looked like Tunisia wanted to go on and score the second - in the end the "wished-for" draw came in. I'm afraid nobody can read into African alliances and trains of thoughts (like Senegal are out of sorts this year, let them win), so playing it safe should be the call -- well, on the other hand I am effectively on Mali to win or draw @ 2.40 taken a few days ago (see a tread below), but I'm NOT hedging it - says all.:)

  3. Anyone with an account @ SuperOdds can take advantage of their strange odds for Group B winner. After today's matches, Mali only need to draw with Senegal to win the group. having watched most of the matches, Senegal are dire to say the least. Betfair has Mali to win @ odds on. Yet, SO offers 1.80 for Senegal to win and 2.40 for Mali to win. Surely they are either too slow or have a false favourite here. Alternatively, you can also lay the stake back @ Betfair and have a free 1.5 (ca) shot.

  4. Re: Mali Just a short opinion on Senegal - even though they won convincingly enough, they performed exactly 31 minutes and tried to look the better side for the rest of the first half. Out of these 31 minutes, Kenya was relatively well on top for longish periods of time. The second half saw the same indefferent footy as in the Senegal v Burk F. match. And - Senegal didn't boss the match for a single minute - would like to see a bit of dedication to back them with any confidence in the future.

  5. Re: . Agree with denis here. In opening matches - Cameroon were much better and VERY unlucky not to bag more than one goal. Senegal were pathetic (understatement), LOOKED NOT INTERESTED IN THE GAME AT ALL, and poor overall. Who will score for them is a major worry with Camara not able to pass, nor even get into a shooting position and Diouf just running all over the place. Not saying they can't win, but backing them @ such a skinny price is feeding bookies. And backing them on AH is something you can't be too confident of as there is every chance they can just nick it - or not.

  6. Re: Algeria gurdjieff - it was not value of the year as Algeria were one man down at that time and spent most of the second half just kicking balls as far from their goal as they could. Agree this was a fluke which decided, anyway the Egyptians were absolutely unable even to threaten a little bit in front of goal in the second half. They are almost sure out of the tourny now.

  7. Re: hmm Poor luck, toshiba. After equalising early in the second half, it was all over Cameroon with some hit woodworks and some incredibly bad luck. 1-1 FT and the first under of the tourny. Still, wouldn't like to be the one backing the under @ ca 1.6 as it always looked like more goals.

  8. Re: ...... Not really sure if this is going to be an under 2.5 paradise or not and today's game showed nothing at all. In fact, unlike the last tourny, there seemed to be no problem with the heat or with the state of the pitch and if they managed to shoot, they often shot on target. We'll see.:hat

  9. Re: TV coverage... I don't know if BBC are showing it this year, but the coverage is on Eurosport for sure and you can even find the whole schedule on their .com page -- 23 live matches, btw. Bookie coverage will be about as bad as last time with the most of it on B365 and of course Betfair as they can't miss so many live events.
