  1. NHL 22/2 Sun EARLY START In fact, I would never back the over 5.5 as quite a few of the above overs were just over 4.5 or even over 4 goals and in some of these matches only 5 goals were scored - the seemingly huge difference doesn't come out of the blue - my local books offer the same line (ie over 5.5, well rather exactly 6 and over 6 with similar or better odds).

  2. ALL GAMES START EARLY TONIGHT 1-1 last night and 0.02 pts lost, so not much damage done. Sides look terrible today, esp. on the odds front. Two overs would qualify, the one in the Col @ Min match looks equally good, but the best odds you can get are 1.87 so no play. Clg @ NJD OVER 4.5 goals @ 2.01 *Pinnacle* (and 2.00 SuperOdds) 3 PTS Both teams playing their 3/4 game - tired legs - leaky defences. H2Hs are pretty clear - 5 overs / 4 unders and 1 push in L10, BUT 3 overs and 1 push in L4 and 5 unders, 1 under and one push in L7. The under meant 4 goals and the push meant 5 goals so from the point of view of tonight's match, it would count as an over as well. That's it.

  3. A good winner (albeit in OT) last night, but nothing appeals much on todays coupon. One of the plays can be taken on B365 only (out of my books) as it is an ALTERNATIVE LINE play (ie reverted handicap). Record YTD 101-110-19, +30.54, 13.01 pec cent yield. As of now, the basic stake will be 2 pts, we'll see how it will fare. Nas (ML) to bt PHX @ 1.99 *Pinnacle* 2 PTS Although the Preds are in their 3/4 B2B away trap, there are other pointers in their favour. They are 3-1-1 while Phx are 2-8-1-1. What's more, Phoenix are just awful @ home traditionally. The Preds laso lead them on H2Hs - 2-0-1 this season. Only adding the Preds have recently strengthened their squad, not with one, but both eyes on the playoffs - something the Coyotes can keep dreaming of. Van -1/2 to bt EDM @ 2.30 *B365* 2 PTS Again, you need to place it @ B365 - chose the handicap (+1/2), strike "bet" and choose -1/2 in the croll down menu. Van are 6-2-2 on H2H AND 4-0 @ Edmonton. Both teams in indifferent form, but the fact Edmonton are coming off an emotional win over Colorado might mean they will be a bit down tonight. That's it. T.

  4. 3-2 last night with some profit and up to +28.96 pts of profit for the season. Only one play tonight: BUF -1/2 to bt TB @ 2.05 *genrally available, except Pinnacle (just 2.02 over there)* 1.5 PTS Two hot teams are meeting here tonight and although the H2H record slightly prefers the Lightnings (4-3-3 for Buf, but 2-2-1 @ home AND 0-2-1 in L3), other factors are favourable for the Sabres. TB were unbeaten in 5 until losing to StL. BUT this is exactly the worst preparation for tonights game - TB are playing their 3/4 B2B all road game off an OT loss last night - and St Louis is not exactly just round the corner from Buffalo. The Sabres, on the other hand are continuing their homestead and are unbeaten in 5 and 8-1-1 in L10. I would fancy more, but the prices are not exactly punter-friendly... and the match of Col @ Dal is one I wouldn't touch with a bargepole. That's it. T.

  5. 4 NCAA and 1 NHL pick for 19th feb Carmine - there is an enormous need for analysis, I feel, as especially leagues like NCAA if not US sports in general are not followed by many people (if any) here as most focus on footy. If you know absolutely nothing aboout the teams etc. then such a post is a bit off the target. I mean, it's perfectly OK to post like this on a specialised US sports forum (particulalry in the US) and it's like people here posting UK soccer picks. This way and here, I'm afraid, it can help no one. This is the reason. You may remember people here ask about quite obvious things (from your point of view) and find any info helpful so why not be more informative.:)

  6. NHL 19/2 Thu I'm sure it's just a rhetoric question, matt, as I have stated much the same many times. The thing is I have to have time to check it, which was not the case today, at least I didn't notice it. Generally said, it's best to scratch such a play as it's NEVER a good sign the public are going for it. Also, the price on Boston, even if they are supported, looks huge. The public play, and I was aware of it, was sure NYR, BUT on ML (the price plummeted from 1.96 last night to just over 1.80 tonight. Even though I knew, I had a good reason to back the Rangers @ -1/2 puck - where the price remained unchanged (weird but true).;) BTW, the Rangers went two up in just four minutes and outshot NYI 8-3 in the first ten minutes. The only worry is their nasty habit to lose won games.;)

  7. NHL 19/2 Thu OK then - the over pick looks good on paper, just for two things - Kiprusoff is one of the hottest goalies at the moment and Mtl can't buy a win so are not expected to score a lot - and the price is too low. Wouldn't put anyone off, this is not an anti-post.;)

  8. 4 NCAA and 1 NHL pick for 19th feb It's nice to have a lot of posters focused on US sports and I for one am more than happy for any input. Yet, have to agree with MrI on this, dino, and what confuses me even more - I asked you for the reasons behind your over NHL pick in the other thread and instead of posting the reasons, you just repost it here. In the same form.

  9. A good win last night and I am happy I scratched the Sharks although the blow came from a different side than Vokoun's. Record YTD: 97-108-19, +27.44 pts, 12.02 per cent yield. Quite a busy night with as many as five plays: NYR -1/2 to bt NYI @ 2.23 *Pinn* 1 PT I am well aware about everybody will be on the Rangers and it may be smarter to oppose them. Still, I haven't found anything why I should fancy the Isles in this kinda decider. Well, NYI are 2-0-3 in L5 while NYR are 3-11-2 in L16. Although the Isles seem to be on the roll, they are a bit inconsistent and the last time took them long before finally edging the Pens (4-3). The main thing is, though, the Rangers OWN the Isles. They are 6-2-2 in L10 H2Hs and 3-1-1 "at home". What's more NYI are 0-6-2 in L8 H2Hs and lost L4 straight (all this season). An interesting fact is that if you took those 8 points from their record, the Rangers would be tied with Washington! As it stands, they still may have hight hopes of getting inot playoffs and this is exactly the decider. Clg (ML) to bt MTL @ 2.00 *Pinn* 1 PT H2Hs are slightly in the Flames' favour (4-3-3 and 1-1-1 @ Mtl) and Calgary want to record their forst five-game winning streak in 7 seasons. Enough of a motivation and although I am keen on opposing teams in such situations, Mtl's recent efforts don't rise much confidence - they've lost 4 straight since the All-Stars break. CHI (ML) to bt SJS @ 2.21 *Pinn* 1 PT Can't see any reason why to back the Sharks tonite. They are 2-3 on the road now and although goalies seldom repeat such a terrible performace as last night, their confidence must have been shaken big time. They are starting Nabokov, but Toskala was not much better. Just consider the Sharks outshot the opponents last night by 7 shots and yet lost by 4 goals. Chicago won 3 straight before losing the last outing. H2Hs read 4-3-3, BUT 3-1 @ Chicago. STL (ML) to bt TB @ 2.00 *Pinn* 1 PT TB may be red hot (one loss and one draw in L6), but the Blues are doing much better than before the break as well (3-2 in L5, won L2). The H2H record is 6-2-2 AND 4-0 in L4 @ StL (the Blues won by 4, 3, 3, 1 gl). Bos (ML) to bt PHILLY @ 2.29 *Pinnacle* 1 PT Bos 3-0-0-2 L5 on the road and 7-0-1-2 in L10, while Philly lost L2. Bost lost narrowly and tied this seasons' H2H encounters and are 3-4-2 in L10 H2H and more importantly 2-1-2 @ Philly. That's it. T.

  10. Eurobasket Doesn't look like this - @ BI - Bet void if there is a tie (ie if Ulker wins exactly by 4) and OT should count as they don't state otherwise and their rules say so. To be honest, I placed some money with BI, but a higher amount with my local book on straight win in regulation @ 1.72 (but this is of no use to anyone here I'm afraid and I placed it as I prefer the safest way @ a nice price). We'll see.;)
