  2. I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself Zil, saying that backing Hovland last week was a mugs bet. In the Players he went from a round one score of 80 to a round two score of 68. In hindsight I wish I'd taken more stock of this ad it clearly shows (in my opinion) that the round one score of 80 was a career low point, things must have been said between himself, his coach, his family/close unit etc. And he came out with great temperament the next day to score a 68 when many others would have shot the quickest rubbish score possible and got the first flight out of there. So I think your instincts were telling you to stick with him for his good temperament shown. Zalatoris on the other hand, like you correctly pointed out the other week, has shown questionable temperament so until showing some gumption and mental toughness on the course I would class as a more questionable bet, dare I say it a mug bet, though I have no right to call anyone's golf bets mug bets with my selections in this sport lol. Interesting discussion and valid points from all by the way. Fingers crossed for more Punters Lounge golf wins.

  11. After reading plenty of knowledgeable points on this subject here are some of my viewpoints on this topic: 1) I'm not against more competitions though surely Michael has enough to calculate and number crunch as we already have a decent variety of horse racing competitions and prizes. So I would only feel comfortable with more competitions if Michael is happy to take on the extra workload. 2) The only way I see the separate jumps/flat competitions working if brought in would be to link them to the ITV races as their TV scheduling kind of tries to link in with the traditional winter jumps/summer flat racing pattern. Other than that as previous poster's have correctly pointed out both codes of racing run pretty much continuously throughout the year. 3) If more competitions were brought in, I personally prefer the idea @Alastair mentioned and having competitions linked to specific meeting types. These shorter sharper competitions do seem to have higher entry rates than the monthly competitions etc. But again I do go back to point 1. where I feel there is enough variety of competitions in the horse racing for us all to get our competitive juices flowing.
  12. Golf 2025, 0/11, -11.00pts One I like in this tournament is: Michael Kim 39.22 Betfair Exchange Last week was first time Michael has missed the cut in 5 events all of those events playing some good consistent Golf. So fingers crossed he can bounce back from the missed cut at The Players with a win this week. Best of luck to all with your selections.

  15. Hovland is definitely a head scratcher for sure. Like you rightly pointed out. He balls'd it up by messing around with things that didn't need fixing in his game. Then went back to the original coach and he looked like he could be on the comeback path with 3rd place in last year's PGA Championship and a 2nd place in the Fedex St Jude last year. Then he's started this year absolutely pants lol. Even this week's tournament shows his rollercoaster consistency. First round scores 80 then second round when no hope of making the cut, cards a highly respectable 4 under par round of 68. And yes, it's a shame Niemann is on the LIV tour, for the main reason being that with those tournament's carrying no OWGR ranking points I'm not sure he'll make the qualifying requirements to make the Masters which otherwise I would fancy him for at the right price.
