I think you are being a bit harsh on yourself Zil, saying that backing Hovland last week was a mugs bet. In the Players he went from a round one score of 80 to a round two score of 68. In hindsight I wish I'd taken more stock of this ad it clearly shows (in my opinion) that the round one score of 80 was a career low point, things must have been said between himself, his coach, his family/close unit etc. And he came out with great temperament the next day to score a 68 when many others would have shot the quickest rubbish score possible and got the first flight out of there. So I think your instincts were telling you to stick with him for his good temperament shown. Zalatoris on the other hand, like you correctly pointed out the other week, has shown questionable temperament so until showing some gumption and mental toughness on the course I would class as a more questionable bet, dare I say it a mug bet, though I have no right to call anyone's golf bets mug bets with my selections in this sport lol.
