    A few thoughts on Medvedev.

The ATP Tour has started to figure out the optimal tactics to not only beat Medvedev but frustrate him beyond belief. Many players, even those without a big serve, are beginning to deploy the serve-and-volley tactic on Medvedev, and given how far back Medvedev stands, it's a tactic that really can't fail. Even as quick as Medvedev is, and as long a stride as he has, it is simply not possible to make up the ground on a good serve-and-volley. When you take Medvedev's return game out of the equation, there's suddenly little margin for error in his service games. He will continue to be treated as a top-three player, and there are going to be increased situations where he is simply priced too short as the season progresses.

Seb Korda to beat Daniil Medvedev at 3.2 with bet365

  2. Jaume Munar to win 2 sets against Ad. Mannarino - No @1.72 with bet365

I'm picturing a straight set victory for Mannarino (currently at 3.00), since I feel that there's an almost chaotic difference between the two opponents. Mannarino is superior in all areas and I doubt the Spaniard can do much to prevent his elimination. One set, tops (3-0 or 3-1).

I'm gonna combine the above (1.72) with Tsitsipas (1.2) & Seb Korda (1.25). It's hard to imagine Thompson or Halys stopping these guys who entered the AO with much ambition and desire to go very deep.

I know Alex de Minaur is in form at the start of 2024 with some substantial wins (Zverev, Djokovic), but I think Matteo Arnaldi can certainly win this match, let alone a set (1.65) or two (2.75)

    Good luck.

  3. Sebastian Korda at 126.00 bet365

Sebastian Korda to win the 2nd quarter at 15.00 bet365

Great footwork, so light on his feet... A bit federeresque in a way, his style of play, his general composure.. the all court type play. I love that he deploys the serve & volley tactic against formidable players who cannot be beaten otherwise (defeated Medvedev 3-0 AO 3rd round).

Andy Murray to win the 1st quarter at 80.00 Stoiximan

If - and that is a huge if - he somehow finds a way to reach the 3rd - 4th round, then great things can happen for this guy in Melbourne. It's the start of the season and all players have huge levels of energy. I think 80.00 is definitely wrong here.

    AO - Women

    Winning Quarter - the 2nd quarter at 4.00 bet365

Rybakina, Pegula , Qinwen Zheng are at this quarter.

    Good luck.

Glad about this. Means Allen beats Selby tonight and he has to beat Carter to make a final.

Playing Carter is certainly an easier path to the final than playing Judd. But tonight's hurdle is a big one, and I doubt he'll get past it.

  5. I'm gonna go with Selby tonight. I think he knows what to expect from Allen, how dangerous he is, so, he'll drag him down to his rhythm, playing defensively till he draws the mistake from his opponent.

The defending champion is out. Carter beats Trump 6-5.

    2024 line up announced:

    • Michael van Gerwen
    • Michael Smith
    • Luke Humphries
    • Gerwyn Price
    • Nathan Aspinall
    • Rob Cross
    • Peter Wright
    • Luke Littler

Of course, Wright doesn't fully "deserve" his spot, but it's Peter Wright, so... (Personally, I would have went with Dobey or maybe Heta for some international flavor.)

You can't argue with the other seven, really. Yes, Littler was that impressive at the Ally Pally.

    Gary Anderson?

  7. Here we are for the final stage of 2023 Davis Cup, in Malaga, Spain. Who'd have thought that there'd be neither France nor USA at the quarter-finals, right?

Australia is already in the semifinals after a thrilling comeback against Czech Republic (2-1).

Serbia vs Great Britain - Tie Winner: Serbia at 1.5 with bet365

Short odds, but the current Novak is simply unplayable. Djokovic and Serbia last won the event in 2010 so I expect him to show up extremely motivated to reach the finals again.

"It's the last week of the season, so one final push is necessary from each one of us," world number one Djokovic told reporters.

"I couldn't be happier with the way I performed in the semi-finals and finals of Turin, so hopefully I'm carrying this kind of energy and performance level to the Davis Cup."

He continued: "As I said many months ago, actually (at) the beginning of the season, the Davis Cup has been and is one of my greatest goals of this season and always is. Hopefully I will be able to contribute to win."

Lukas Kleckers to beat Ben Woolaston at 3.10 with Leovegas

Without watching any of these lately I still stick my head out and say that these odds doesn't necessarily need to be correct. They don't stand out and doesn't excite me very much. But fom a perspective of who looks justified to be priced as favorite it certainly isn't Woolaston by this margin. I expect a tight match. Wrong prices and equal chances for both.

Have you watched Kleckers playing snooker? He's very very average, a really weak player... Ben Woolaston might not be at his best, he certainly is a much better player than the German though.

  9. Michelsen breadsticked Kei Nishikori in the third set. The 18 y.o California kid means business! I'm not gonna bet on his semifinal today though. I'll place a bet on the other semi instead. The French fella is a reliable server and has too much firepower for Shimizu.

G.M Perricard to beat Yuta Shimizu at 1.53 with bet365

I'm also adding: Richard Gasquet to win in straight sets against Daniel Rincon at 2.1 with bet365

    Vondrousova - Jabeur

My first reaction seeing the odds 2.80 on Vondrousova was how is it possible odds are so big on her; this being a final and except if i am wrong she beat opponents as worthy as opponents that Jabeur beat , she already beat Jabeur twice this year on hard , i feel those odds are purely based on public perception of the rankings of the 6th playing  against the 42nd.

I'll take Vondrousova and will split my betting amount 30% on the 1st set and 70% on final win.

In fact, I'd say Vondrousova managed to beat stronger players than Jabeur's opponents (Jessica & Elina).

I mean, I know Aryna & Elena are considered to be better players than Pegula & Svitolina, but the latter duo played really inspiring tennis in this Wimbledon. Sabalenka & Rybakina both fell short of expectations I think.

  11. Alex Michelsen (+1.5 sets) to beat Kei Nishikori at 1.72 with bet365 (Challenger Chicago, USA)

Nishikori is trying to make a big comeback and the signs are positive, but the young American has impressed me a lot with his game so far. I think he's immensely talented and it'll be a shame if he doesn't find a way to bring this talent into fruition at some point. He's definitely capable of beating Nishikori today, let alone grabbing a set.
