Been waiting for Buck Dancing to run again after his very profitable win for us at Southwell last time. He beat For Jim who duly bolted up on his next start at Perth so proof that you had two very well handicapped horses as nothing got near them at Southwell. He is back over fences tomorrow and even off a 10lbs higher mark I still think he is well handicapped. As I said prior to the Southwell race I think the handicapper has underrated the Stratford run behind Earth Leader and Buck Dancing looks more like a 120 horse. Interestingly connections have stepped him up to a class 3 here and the fact he is running against a horse who finished 4th in the Summer Plate (El Terremoto) shows what a different level we are dealing with. Still he gets a lot of weight from him and El Terremoto isn't proven at this trip. Old Salt won at Cartmel on the same day as the Summer Plate and looks like he will stay this far, but I thought that race fell apart with the ground seemingly against a few. Powerful Symbol is likely to make the running and although well beaten by Ascokastar in the end at Worcester that was his first run for a while and so could come on for that. With Bells Of Ainsworth not having run since last April I think Buck Dancing has a decent chance of going in again and 7/2 is a fair price to land the 7.25, with Powerful Symbol the main danger.

Gone for a Goodwood double on Pinatubo 2.25 who was extremely impressive as Ascot (expect Visinari to improve a lot, but will have to!),  and Strativarius 3.35, better than 3/1 double most bookies.

First 4 home in the opener at Worcester all been running in points or hunter chases this year. Thankfully on the winner although just a shame he wasn't the price he was at Bangor! Still nice to get the horse right as he had been on my radar after his hunter chase runs which weren't all as bad as the form figures suggested.

Man Of The Night is declared to run on Thursday night at Newbury

Shimla Dawn's race wasn't helped by the fact he was pestered for the lead, but Border Breaker ran well to finish 2nd and the winner has clearly massively improved from his pointing form this season as he was an easy winner again. Bletchley Castle did it well though and his jumping seems to be improving as much as he looked like he wanted to go the other way round. He was given a good ride as well as he allowed Ballina Girl to get on with it in the early stages and then was able to keep enough in reserve to beat a poor bunch. He might be capable of winning again though as he surely can't go up that much for this. 
 
Hopefully what Bletchley Castle did at Southwell on Sunday Buck Dancing can do at Southwell on Monday in the 4.15. Another horse I put up at Stratford as well and he finally showed under rules what he had done in points and ran a cracking 2nd to Earth Leader. For me Earth Leader could easily be a 130 horse although amazingly the BHA handicapper rated his win that night at only 109 (still rated 117 based on the Fontwell win), but that does mean that the handicapper has only put Buck Dancing at 103 for his chase mark and his hurdle mark is still on 98. That to me looks an absolute gift of a handicap mark and he has at least 20lbs in hand. Obviously he has to go and prove it over hurdles, but brush hurdles are a bit like point fences anyway so it could be why they have targeted Southwell. The main worry is he has had a lot of racing this year with 8 runs from the end of February to Stratford last time. As long as it's not 1 run too many I think he will be very hard to beat with For Jim the main danger, who Brian Hughes has chosen to ride over Buck Dancing, but I think he has made the wrong move. 100/30 looks a good price even in a big field.

I assume your advice is for me? And judged on the garbage I've been posting on this daily £20 challenge (just for fun game) , it is sound advice!! But just to let you know I've only been following Horse Racing for about a couple of months and am very much a novice, but I have found that I get no enjoyment at ALL in backing a favourite at low odds and winning that way. I experimented with all Punters Lounge's Tips and advice and from 1st June decided to pick between 3 - 8 Longshots per day, which was going very well until Royal Ascot started, and learned the hard way that these class of horses in such big fields are unlikely to throw up many longshots and if they do you still need to be on the right longshot! Also I'd like to make it clear that I bet very much for fun and to get that excitement that I have experienced from winning (or placing sometimes) with a longshot with a daily amount of cash I can afford to lose if neither of my selections make any money(Luckily I'm still going strong with initial stake from over 2 months ago). On 22-4-19 sizing platinum 11-2, bazarov 4-1, no no cardinal 3-1, casey jem 9-2 and golden spred 11-2 (ordinary world 11-4 lost) won me a nice amount on 4/5 fold acca as well as single bets on same horses, but this is the only acca that have come off for me(and that was a lucky fluke picking out other peoples tips at random and putting them together!) so trying to emulate that would happen maybe 2 or 3 times a year if I was lucky. My longshots, (at the moment) on average, win every other day and one or two place every other day and as an example Ghalib @ 66-1 winner and even Master Of Reality @ 100-1 placed 3rd earned less money but gave me more enjoyment which, for me, is what its all about.( Reading this back it might come across rude or judgemental so just let me make it clear that's not my intention, just wanted to let you know that I'm sure over time your advice is right, I'm not doing this to make money just a bit of fun, so thanks anyway.)
