This was a system put up around 20yrs ago by Jim Streek and still one of the most consistent around to this day despite its simplicity

you can replace rule 3 with any top rating of your choice (Sun , RP ratings, timeform etc) most top rated give similar results

Have you kept a record of results over the years and how profitable has the strategy been?  Just interested

  2.

    My lay bet today is:

    4.10 Newmarket Montatham £5.26 @ 3.8 = £5 versus a £14.73 liability

I usually like to lay horses at 9/2 plus but I feel that most of the Sporting Press have latched on to this horse which is why the price is so short.

Profit to date is £15.00 so let's hope that I don't wipe it out

  3. Well, that caused a bit of a fright. the damn thing was sent off as 4/1 favourite. Always worrying that the all knowing "market"  was expecting a fantastic run.  From my point of view I just feel unlucky that I didn't get a better price. Any way the horse finished 5th beaten 4 3/4 lengths so no harm done

    Profit C/fwd £15.00

  4. WOW. this page has got very popular since I left at the start of Lockdown.

Anyway, my first Lay bet lost by 1/2 length which was alright but I am not happy about it.

Sorry all this will seem slow BUT my ultimate goal is laying about £105 per bet at a max of 10.0 so I hope that you can appreciate my caution

    Today I am laying  RumBaba 4.15 Yar at 4.8 = 5.26 @4.8 = £5.00 profit v £19.99 liability.

    B/Fwd profit £5.00

  5. Hi Guys,

Great to be back after a lay off

I have decided to resume my operation with "LAY" betting.

The hope is that I should have lots of wining bets and hopefully be profitable

I am not going to use a betting bank as this has caused confusion in the past.

I am very much feeling my way with this new project so a softly softly approach is being employed

My first bet is the 12.45 Newc Jackstar.  £5.26 at odds of 7.8 = possible £5 profit versus a liability of £35.77

The horse is fancied, however it hasn't won over this distance before so fingers crossed

  6. Good luck to all players this month especially those slogging away at the Naps competition.  I feel that I am better served by carrying out research on my betting methods than struggling to find winners with scant information available on the international scene.

My latest idea is to "lay" horses in handicaps with 10 or more runners in the price ranges of 4/1 to 9/1 (4/1 = about a 20% chance of winning a race or put it another way 80% chance of losing a race)

Another possibility is to back short priced favourites using 3 selections at around evens.  I propose placing all winnings on to the second selection should the first one win and then removing my original stake and placing all the rest on the third selection.  This is an interesting strategy for me to test.

I can't really do any of this at the moment and will have to wait until racing proper resumes.
