    Dover v Folkestone

I don't think I have ever had a bet in a county cup game before, but there is a first time for everything and I think Folkestone are way over priced tonight to beat Dover. It isn't on Oddschecker but I have seen prices at Betway (13/2) and Bet365 (7/1) and I am sure others have it priced up because it will be an in play game tonight. I'd be surprised if Dover played any first teamers tonight given the league is obviously the priority and they won't want to risk any players with the busy Christmas period coming up. They have played one game in the competition already and drew 2-2 with Sittingbourne and then won on pens. Folkestone have needed pens to win both ties so far and they may rest players as well, but they lost on Saturday on the back of having won their previous 8 league games. I just wonder after that if that result may mean a stronger line up to try and bounce back quickly instead of having a night training tomorrow. It would seem a decent opportunity to beat their higher ranked local rivals.

    Folkestone 1pt @ 7/1 with Bet365

This was one of my favourite tips in a long long time! I got on at 11/2 - thank you!

One game tonight in the Bostik (most bookies still call it the Ryman) Isthmian Premier League as Billericay Town travel to Kingstonian - actually we are returning to Leatherhead's ground for the second time in two days as that is where Kingstonian are currently based.
Billericay, still smarting after their cup exit last week won their league game two days later 4-2 at Harlow and are now set to play their 5th game in 9 days.
Undoubtedly, they are the champions elect and the team that everyone wants to beat. On the road they have played 6 and won 5 of them with - each win totalling over 2.5 goals.
They do have defensive frailties at the back having kept only 2 clean sheets in those six games against 14th & 20th placed teams.
Centre back Robert Swaine's red card in the cup replay doesn't kick in yet however Kingstonian do have a suspension at the back in Gough.
Billericay's forward line has a lot of poke with Cunnington, Robinson and Theophanous and should prevail again this evening.
Of Kingstonian's seven home games all but one - first game of the season - have been over 2.5 goals.
They have won 4 times against 19th, 23rd, 10th & 12th placed opposition and lost twice to Leatherhead (17th) (landlords) and 4th placed Metropolitan Police.
Only two bookies have priced up match result and over 2.5 goals - PaddyPower at 2.20 and Betfred at 2.15.
I am restricted at PaddyPower and they let me invest 0.4 point and I am gubbed at Betfred so I took a trip to the local office and handed over 0.6 point and got evens.
Tonight's bet is one point on Billericay win and over 2.5 goals in total.
Good luck if you decide to play.

Will be interesting to see what side Billericay put out on Tuesday given they have the FA Cup replay on Thursday. I was surprised to see the game still on but I guess they are so far behind they have to try to squeeze them in when they can.

Has anybody any insight? Merstham are going through a rough patch. First Team coach has put an official statement out asking for big crowd Tuesday as all the players are desperate to get back on track.

I’ll be in attendance, my 15th game...will this be the first time I see them win??

According to the FA Site, Addia's suspension doesn't kick in until Tuesday 14th.

    http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/discipline/suspensions

Ryan Hall is the player who cut Lowestoft to pieces a few weeks ago - Addia didn't feature in the squad, so I can't comment if he's a loss or not.

Ryan Hall is a quality player but he turns up when he wants to. I haven’t been unimpressed In what I’ve seen but others have been impressed. He does score goals but if the chips are down??. Just like Merstham, extremely unpredictable!

  5. Backing Merstham - oh dear... I’ve seen Merstham play 15 times ever and I’ve seen them win 0 times! Can you believe it!

That said they are a talented, quick team all be it so so unpredictable, so it wouldnt surprise me if they win! Addia will be suspended but I dont see that as a big loss.

Hayen Bird to masterclass another away win at 13/8...go on...small stakes

Wasn't their away form crap last season?

Apologies I had missed as season in my mind!! The season before Merstham were right up there with best in league on away wins. Granted this is a new squad but it's the same manager.

Last season was a weird one because they were in so many cup competitions including FA Cup 1st round and Surrey Senior Final, their final league position and both home and away form should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Quick, young squad, hungry too. I'm backing the away win here.

  7. Folkestone Invicta vs Merstham - MERSTHAM TO WIN 7/4 Sky Bet

First contribution of the season and it's a tip for a high on confidence Merstham to beat a very average Folkestone Invicta.

Mersthsm are on a high following an excellent 4-1 win over Wingate at the weekend who were a play off team last season. Having completely rebuilt their squad Merstham seemed to have gelled very well following some early pre-season hiccups. Couple that with their new signing forward, Ryan Hall who is playing well beneath his standard and it shows!

Folkestone had a solid yet unspectacular start to the season with a 1-1 away win at Enfield, from what I read it was very unspectacular and my belief is that Merstham on their high and confidence and with very solid away form last season can put them away, maybe with ease.

  8. Only non League I have going is a Tranmere, Ebbsfleet, Halifax treble to go up. No real analyst behind it, I would just be surprised if any of them didn't get the job done. I guess my only niggling concern is what FRG team turns up on the day, but that said I still think it's Tranmeres day.

GL and see you all next season!!

  9. Hi guys,

A few observations to form an adventurous multi....

I watched Canvey Island beat Merstham 3-0 last week. Canvey were decent but it was 0-0 until Merstham were reduced to 10 men in their influential Centre Back. Canvey are on a good run but so are Bognor who are also top of the league. 2/5 looks an excellent accumulator booster.

Add that to Leiston unbeaten in 4 and in play offs against a poor Worthing team in free fall (but probably already safe). I can't see Worthing coming away with anything more than 0 points! 4/9

I can't understand the odds here. Lowestoft flying against Folkestone in awful form. Lowestoft comfortably the better team over the season. 4/5. Add that too!

Darlington top of the form table vs Gainsborough bottom...4/5

Maidenhead to beat Bishops Stortford - No explanation need here! 2/9

Same for Dartford to beat St Albans 8/13

Buxton (still in play off hunt) vs the worst team in all the divisions - Skelmersdale 3/10

    7 teams pays 15/1 - Good luck!!

  10. Needham are strong at home, Merstham have been weak (just this season I must add) away....should be a home win?! Not so sure!

Not just because Merstham are my team but I fancy them here and can't believe they are 5.75 !!

Merstham won the reverse fixture 4-1, Merstham are 4th in form league (over last 6 games) and Needham are 16th. On paper this should be a home win but at 5.75 I think its worth a punt on Merstham ! If a market comes up for -1 goal I would be tempted on that too because Merstham are so hot and cold they could win 4-0 or lose 4-0 but if its anywhere near 10.00 then i'll have a small punt!

Canvey look worth backing at 2.25 and Billericay at 2.00 too
