6.35 Nottingham: Kanaf 1pt place lay Not much to choose on paper between the top three in the market and with the form of the race in which today's favourite Kanaf not looking the strongest I am willing to take on for a place. Looking at the subsequent performances of the horses in that race, none of them really set the handicap world alight and not a lot of them have actually crossed the winning line first since. The drop in trip from 6f to 5f isn't certain to suit given comments in running on that debut run and everything could happen a little quick today. Ed Dunlop's horses still to get into top gear so this one may need the run too. Although an obvious risk to lay for a place I feel the other two market principals in the race are better value and am happy to take a chance on Kanaf not being in first two.
