manckevin's Saturday Seven

Recommended Posts

OK, looking through some system stuff, and looking at other angles, I'm going to start having a stab at posting up these just on Saturdays. Comments after the title are those of Racing Post Spotlight (as found on the Desktop Betting Shop). I take no responsibility for how accurate these turn out to be. Can't promise to post every week due to work and other commitments but a good start will help, and it will certainly be here for the next fortnight. Will be backing these myself in Singles (7) and Doubles (21) and will be disappointed with less than a 50% strike rate, but I will try to include at least one double figure priced selection in each week. This is under test. Follow with caution.

SATURDAYS SEVEN SELECTIONS

SATURDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2004

1.10 AYR IRON MAN 4/9 Ex-French juvenile hurdler who created very favourable impression when runner-up in good-class event at Wetherby on easy ground last week; obvious chance to go one better here.

1.20 DONCASTER BIG MOMENT 3/1 Has not won on Flat since 2001 but in good form this autumn on the level and over hurdles, doing well when just failing dropped back to this trip at Newmarket last month; however, chances are he will be picking up more minor money.

2.05 WINCANTON FIRST BALLOT 4/1 Gained valuable chasing experience in minor novice events at up to 3m this summer but much taller order here against rival of Comply Or Die’s stature and remains to be seen how his jumping fares in this stern test.

3.10 WINCANTON GUNTHER MCBRIDE 9/4 Usually gives his running, ground/trip/track all suitable and current well-being shown with game front-running success at Kempton two weeks ago; exposed but looks sure to play a leading role.

3.25 DONCASTER OLIGARCH 12/1 Less to do and came good under a positive ride in 1m Brighton auction maiden; should be effective back at 7f and ran arguably best race on this course second outing despite finding 6f inadequate.

3.40 WINCANTON RIGMAROLE 11/8 Vastly improved last season, winning six (including Grade 2 over C&D on good) and started second favourite for the Champion Hurdle; 4/5 and did the job without any fuss at Kempton two weeks ago; giving the weight on this first handicap assignment in nearly a year should be tougher, but only one of his rivals is in the handicap and he has proved his well-being.

4.00 DONCASTER SENDINTANK 5/2 Began the year a maiden on a mark of 50 but took his score for the season to nine out of 11 by readily accounting for a couple of in-form rivals at Musselburgh in midweek; clearly still thriving and likely to make a bold bid to defy penalty under conditions which suit.

(EDIT: I'll work on the formatting for next time)

SATURDAYS SEVEN SELECTIONS

SATURDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2004

12.50 WETHERBY YOUNG SCOTTON 5/2 Useful for Kevin Ryan in bumpers last season, winning first two, one of them here, before a staying-on second in a competitive event at Aintree; interesting that new trainer said that he hasn’t been brilliant in his schooling before being withdrawn because the ground was too testing on intended hurdles debut at Ayr last week but still very much a leading contender over a trip that should suit. 12.55 LINGFIELD MARIA DELFINA 2/1 Plenty to like about her debut over C&D last month when she stayed on in striking fashion after a tardy start; plenty more to come from her and shortlist material.

2.05 LINGFIELD FORZEEN 2/1

Only beaten by a nostril off this mark at Wolverhampton last time and yet to finish out of the frame in four starts on the AW; leading chance with the stable in good form.

2.40 LINGFIELD WHIRLY BIRD 5/2 Slowly away last time in extended 1m1f maiden at Wolverhampton but well on top when it mattered, running out a ready winner from Tromp; well-bred filly who should improve again and looks the one they have to beat.

3.20 CHELTENHAM ROYAL EMPEROR 4/1 Has gone agonisingly close at last two Festivals (Pertemps Hurdle, Royal & Sun Alliance Chase) and ran race packed with promise when third at Wetherby on reappearance even though eventually well beaten behind Grey Abbey after blowing up; big run expected.

5.00 WOLVERHAMPTON JAGGED 7/2 Model of consistency on turf/AW since headgear applied in June and took well to this surface when gamely landing odds over 5f here recently; just as effective over today´s trip and no reason why he cannot go close.

9.30 WOLVERHAMPTON MAC’S TALISMAN 7/2 Has appreciated return to AW in recent weeks with today´s combination of headgear; defied a penalty gamely to score over C&D a week ago and, off just 4lb higher, could well complete the hat-trick. From a shortlist of 19, down to a final list of 7, watch all the rest (detailed below) go and win now! Reserves in event of any non-runners in the above list (in order of preference) are NOSHINANNIKIN, ONLYBEGONEANHOUR and COUNTBACK Those that didn't quite make it: 12.25 LINGFIELD TEXAS GOLD EVENS

1.15 UTTOXETER COUNTBACK 15/8

1.25 WETHERBY MANBOW 7/4

1.35 CHELTENHAM MOUNT KARINGA 3/1

1.35 CHELTENHAM VODKA BLEU 11/8

2.10 CHELTENHAM GREY REPORT 7/1

2.45 CHELTENHAM FARMER JACK 9/1 3.05 WETHERBY NOSHINANNIKIN 2/1

3.55 CHELTENHAM CERIUM 13/8

4.00 UTTOXETER ONLYBEGONEANHOUR 6/4

5.30 WOLVERHAMPTON RISKA KING 13/2

7.30 WOLVERHAMPTON MR AITCH 9/4

Good luck for today everyone! Kevin (the formatting on here is really starting to **** me off now).

Day breaks even on singles, but would have been a very nice return overall had Macs Talisman won in the end. Apart from that, very disappointing with only 4 of the 15 others on the shortlist winning at 10/11 (twice), 11/10 and 11/8.

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven SHORTLIST FOR SATURDAY 20TH NOVEMBER 2004 Comments welcomed, as always.....

COURSETIMESELECTIONRPFSPOTLIGHT
AINTREE12.45FOOTBALL CRAZY11/10Gone from strength to strength this year, putting up best performance when landing a valuable Market Rasen handicap over about this trip in September; probably found racing coming too quickly/ground too soft when below par at Chepstow last time and againa worry that underfoot conditions will be against him (despite a Flat win on soft); favoured by weights.
LINGFIELD1.10LATIN EXPRESS 7/2 Improved form and well backed when runner-up in 6f maiden here on Tuesday after showing good speed throughout; way he raced then suggests he can be effective at the minimum although bred to stay much farther (brother to good Hong Kong performer up to 1m4f Indigenous).
HUNTINGDON1.25NAPOLITAIN 5/2 Winner of valuable Auteuil hurdle over slightly farther in September, second won since though those further behind haven´t done much for the form in the meantime; said to have worked well since being switched to Paul Nicholls and interesting recruit.
HUNTINGDON1.25YANKEEDOODLEDANDY 7/2 Progressive on fibresand in the spring but handicapper on top by the time he switched back to turf and proved vulnerable; impressive hurdle debut at Sandown two weeks ago and though form wasn´t strong by the course´s standards he can do better again on this more suitable track; decent prospect.
WINDSOR1.35TIKRAM 7/1 Improved in the spring at Cheltenham, where came late to win the Mildmay of Flete before running good second in another valuable handicap chase; modest form winning at Fontwell earlier and questionable whether he will be as at home on this circuit as at Cheltenham, where he blew his chance in the Paddy Power last weekend with sloppy jumping.
LINGFIELD2.40SENDINTANK 7/4 Highly progressive middle-distance stayer who has won 10 of 12 starts this season in campaign that has seen handicap mark almost double (40lb higher than when last seen on AW); hard to argue with that record but concerns here he may not get the strong gallop that suits over his minimum trip on surface he has to prove he handles.
WINDSOR3.05COLLIERS COURT 3/2 Freerunning pacesetter but settled better since beaten 5l by Romany Court (2lb better off now) at Fontwell (2m2f) in September and rewarded with two impressive wins over this trip at Ludlow; the pick on official ratings, the track will suit and won´t mind the ground; major chance of completing hat-trick.
WINDSOR3.05ROMANY DREAM 3/1 Taken time to put her act together over fences but progressing well now and chasing hat-trick after wins in 2m2f maiden at Fontwell (beating Colliers Court, who is worse off now but has improved) then weak mares´ novice; a must for the shortlist, thoughfar from certain to confirm superiority over Colliers Court at this shorter trip.
LINGFIELD3.15COMPTON BOLTER 4/1 Fine record in this race and, although he has not tasted success since scoring third win in this last year when he pipped Grand Passion, he has shown he retains his ability; tactically versatile and has to be respected.
WOLVERHAMPTON5.00ELUSIVE KITTY25/1 Knocking on the door on several occasions throughout the summer but has gone off the boil recently; stamina clearly stretched over 1m4f here at the beginning of the month but nevertheless hard to get excited about.
WOLVERHAMPTON5.30VICIOUS WARRIOR13/2 Paid the price for his consistency in handicaps throughout a winless turf campaign but finally ended a long barren spell when taking advantage of a lenient mark back on the AW at Lingfield earlier this month and another good run looks on the cards.
WOLVERHAMPTON7.00MOUNT EPHRAM11/4 Competed well in low-grade events on turf during summer and proved just as effective without headgear when, despite tracking a wayward course, he drew clear in C&D claimer (Sol Rojo and Brut Force behind) latest; the one to beat.
WOLVERHAMPTON9.30BROUGHTON KNOWS 8/1 Slow starter who boasts an excellent strike-rate on AW (6-17) and handled this surface well when headed near post over 1m6f here recently; given far too much to do latest; solid claims if keeping in touch early (withdrawn from race here with vet´s certificate yesterday).

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven OK, here's the seven I'll be going for today. All should be decent enough prices although I've not really had time to look at the markets so far today, but again, a few of these going in would do me nicely. No double figure selection, but made up by the longer odds on these selections anyway. Could sink or swim, but lets see what happens.....

SELECTION

RPF

RACING POST SPOTLIGHT COMMENTS

NEWCASTLE

12.10

IBERUS

11/4

Confirmed previous promise when making all to win ordinary event at Sedgefield earlier this week (main market rival disappointed); penalty to carry but can´t be ruled out in this company.

NEWBURY

12.25

MARCEL

4/6

Ex-French gelding who goes from strength to strength and yet to be fully extended in six novice hurdles in Britain on good to firm/good to soft; proved that he does not have to lead by landing Grade 2 event at Cheltenham last time; must be hard to beat again.

TOWCESTER

12.30

GREEN IDEAL

10/11

Ran to his best when runner-up to Vanda´s Choice at the start of the month but has failed to finish half of his ten starts over fences (not his fault at Uttoxeter on Thursday with first-time cheekpices, retained here); good enough to win this if all wentto plan and acts in soft ground.

NEWCASTLE

12.40

YOUR A GASSMAN

6/4

Developed into decent staying novice hurdler and promises to be even better over fences, judging by clear second in handicap at Kelso this month on first start since May; serious contender and stable have good line to merit of Paddy The Piper.

LINGFIELD

12.50

BARBARY COAST

7/2

Racing Post Spotlight Nap : Good effort on AW debut when third to potentially decent sort in nursery over C&D last time (second won since) and should be leading light.

NEWBURY

12.55

VODKA BLEU

9/2

Very much on the upgrade since the summer, especially since switching to fences; creditable placed efforts against more experienced rivals in handicaps before successful return to novice company last time but needs to take another significant step up to worry Fundamentalist.

TOWCESTER

1.05

THE BAR MAID

7/4

Has been in great form around here this autumn with two wins and a gallant second in three starts over C&D; likes to force the pace and soft ground no problem, so should have most of these on the stretch.

NEWCASTLE

1.15

IRON MAN

3/2

Ex-French, fulfilled promise of Wetherby debut when sauntering to victory in weak heat at Ayr when Athollbrose was remote fourth; previous experience stands him in good stead and he sets a decent standard.

NEWBURY

2.05

BARACOUDA

8/15

Pretty much ruled the roost in staying hurdles for the last four years, beaten just twice in last 16 outings, once through pilot error and the more recent at the hands of Iris´s Gift in March; no sign that his powers are on the wane, something in hand atthe weights and champion jockey takes over the steering.

NEWCASTLE

2.25

INDY MOOD

7/4

Slogged his way to victory in Kelso novice hurdle over extended 2m6f last month and looks sure to be suited by this even stiffer test, so no surprise if going close despite penalty.

NEWCASTLE

2.25

LOST BOY

11/8

Offered plenty of encouragement when second in 2m4f novice hurdle here this month on debut; not sure how good the form is but step up to this trip should bring out even more in him and stable in good form.

TOWCESTER

3.20

ALMAH

11/10

Top-class performer on the Flat in South Africa and ran well enough in the face of tough tasks in this country during recent season; just pipped on hurdling debut last month and looks to have every chance of going one better here.

NEWBURY

3.45

ALBUHERA

16/1

Won on good to soft at this meeting last year but ideally served by quicker ground; form tailed off at the end of a busy campaign last spring and should have done better on reappearance (plenty to find with Howle Hill) so questions to answer at present.

WOLVERHAMPTON

8.00

PRETTY WOMAN

20/1

Lost her chance at the stalls on her first two starts, including when hopelessly drawn at Beverley on her debut; better effort on her AW debut last weekend but nothing to suggest she´s about to take this.

WOLVERHAMPTON

9.00

MOBO-BACO

6/1

Reliable performer in his grade and nothing wrong with latest C&D second; something to find on the ratings but more likely to run his race than several of these.

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven Well here's the shortlist again. Suppose I'd better pick the seven myself again (well no bugger else wants to) :cry Here's hoping the formatting doesn't fcuk up (yet) again!

SATURDAY SEVEN SHORTLIST

COURSE

TIME

SELECTION

SPOTLIGHT

RPF

HAYDOCK

12.05

WORD GETS AROUND

Dual bumper winner who won only start over hurdles at Kelso in April; reasonably treated and unexposed but did not take to chasing (which was expected to be his game) in October; could well be worth chancing now.

3/1

CHEPSTOW

12.25

NOBLE ACTION

Dual point winner for Richard Barber and winning start under Rules in Folkestone bumper, first two well clear of remainder; first run on soft but clearly a leading contender.

5/6

HAYDOCK

12.35

MARCEL

Improved out of recognition while rattling up seven straight victories, stepping up successfuly in class on last three appearances; no reason to think the well is running dry.

4/7

WETHERBY

12.40

THE NOMAD

Reliable sort who wins his share and, having run two sound races over 2m (fully effective over this trip) on last two starts, is one to consider.

3/1

SANDOWN

1.00

BLUE AMERICO

Always had plenty of ability though shade disappointing following Taunton win in February, tended to be a bit buzzy; seems to have benefited from summer break though, convincing in reasonable company at Huntingdon in his first completion since and thereabouts if stamina lasts out.

3/1

WETHERBY

1.15

LADY OF SCARVAGH

Two best runs over hurdles have been at 2m5f and should be even more effective over this longer trip so has claims; sometimes makes the running.

9/2

WETHERBY

1.45

MIDDLETHORPE

Has a good strike rate, and usually goes well here; went up 5lb for C&D win in October but ran poorly for no obvious reason here last time; high enough in the weights, but another to consider.

4/1

SANDOWN

2.05

LE SEYCHELLOIS

Ex-French gelding who improved over hurdles at Auteuil in the spring (bit to find with Made In Japan if Moulin Riche is a reliable yardstick) and made an impressive start for new connections over fences in 4yo event at Warwick last week, readily accounting for another well-regarded recruit though making a couple of mistakes and not getting very high on other occasions; looks sure to go on to better things.

3/1

WETHERBY

2.15

CHAUVINIST

139-rated hurdler who confirmed the promise on his good chase debut run at Sandown last December by beating two previous winners at Aintree last time; yet to win over this trip but shapes as though it will suit and the one to beat.

4/7

LINGFIELD

2.25

ANALYZE

Highest BHB rating of these and been running well on this surface of late; will find this a good deal less competitive than the handicap he ran in last Saturday and has to be respected.

10/3

SANDOWN

2.35

AZERTYUIOP

Suffered rare defeat over fences at the hands of Moscow Flyer here a year ago but better than ever since, taking advantage of Moscow Flyer´s exit in Champion Chase and putting up a couple of top-drawer performances in handicaps, including at Exeter on recent reappearance; has everything one looks for in a top two-miler and will take a world of beating.

4/6

HAYDOCK

2.45

RAW SILK

Good effort to win novice handicap chase at Carlisle in October when having first outing for well over a year; creditable second at Leicester next time but third did little for form next time.

3/1

CHEPSTOW

3.00

CHARLIES FUTURE

Maintained series of consistent efforts in novice chases at Cheltenham and Exeter this term; proven under these conditions but up against it with Control Man judged on hurdles ratings.

4/1

HAYDOCK

3.15

THAMES

Improved on last season´s efforts when creditable third of four to odds-on newcomer No Refuge at Aintree last month, showing the form to win race like this if judged through runner-up Football Crazy.

11/8

WETHERBY

3.25

FASHIONS MONTY

On a roll, having won her last three in the space of 13 days from 2m4f to 3m3f on soft/heavy ground; has gone up 26lb as a result (11lb higher than last success) and also up in grade, but should go well again for her in-form yard.

3/1

CHEPSTOW

3.35

CORNISH SETT

Bumper winner in the spring but surpassed that form when second in a fair contest at Wincanton on hurdles debut last month, both races on good ground; leading player for the stable which won this last year if as effective on this softer ground.

13/8

WOLVERHAMPTON

7.00

SAMARIA

Showed ability over middle distances on Polytrack at Lingfield (holds Mac´s Elan on run behind Modaffaa) but disappointing there last time; could go well if in the mood but isn´t one to lump on.

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven OK, one more week, for now. Here's tomorrow's shortlist. Note that not all yet have prices or a Spotlight write-up. Make of them what you will, and LET ME KNOW what you think! 7/7 would be nice! And I give up on trying to make this look nice, it doesn't help find winners!

COURSE

TIME

SELECTION

RPF

RP SPOTLIGHT

LINGFIELD

12.10

AZZEMOUR

25/1

Not lived up to pedigree (half-brother to Le Sauvignon and Montifault) or bumper debut promise.

CHELTENHAM

12.20

NAPOLITAIN

CHELTENHAM

12.20

YANKEEDOODLEDANDY

CHELTENHAM

12.55

ST PIRRAN

Enjoyed his finest hour when winning strongly run Grand Annual here in March under masterly waiting ride from today´s jockey and fine third at Aintree the following month, ground too fast for him next time and blew hard after Lingfield reappearance (hadn´t been back in long and needed it) but big run on cards here.

SOUTHWELL

1.05

MOSSMANN GORGE

5/1

Progressing with experience, having looked ordinary, and best effort yet on his first start for current connections at Lingfield last weekend, given he missed the break from a wide draw; longer trip should suit but lacks Etoile Russe´s scope for improvement.

DONCASTER

1.10

LACDOUDAL

7/4

Useful winning novice hurdler last term and similar level over fences this term, running consistently well without managing a win; bit unlucky to encounter exciting prospect when 3l second at Wincanton (2m5f) latest; boasts the best chase form and bold bid likely.

CHELTENHAM

1.30

MONET'S GARDEN

11/8

Useful novice at up to 3m last term (only defeat when second at Aintree), and sound effort on reappearance when staying on strongly to win 2m4f Grade 2 event at Windsor (Trouble At Bay fourth and held on only 4lb better terms); progressive and looks the one to beat again.

LINGFIELD

1.55

ALEXANDERTHEGREAT

3/1

Point-to-point winer who developed into a smart staying hurdler in his novice season last winter and made a promising start over fences at Exeter last month, scrambling home after going clear; should come on for that run and should be hard to beat if proving as good a chaser as he is over hurdles.

LINGFIELD

1.55

DISTANT THUNDER

5/4

Quite a useful 2m4f novice hurdler last winter but significantly in advance of that form over fences this term, making classy Comply Or Die and Cornish Rebel work hard at Wincanton and Newbury respectively; similar display will make him very hard to beatin receipt of weight from principal rivals.

SOUTHWELL

2.10

HIGH CHARTER

2/1

From a useful family, being a brother to First Charter and half-brother to Private Charter, and this longer trip should suit on pedigree; latest Wolverhampton seventh wouldn´t amount to a great deal but entitled to have come on again for it.

LINGFIELD

2.30

FIRE DRAGON

CHELTENHAM

2.40

THISTHATANDTOTHER

4/1

The only one to make a race of it with subsequent Hennessy winner Celestial Gold in the Paddy Power here last month and has paid the price with a 5lb rise; however, things didn´t pan out at all for him that day and it shouldn´t surprise anyone if he wereto go one better this time.

CHELTENHAM

3.15

INGLIS DREVER

7/2

Smart novice at up to 2m5f last term, but only second in the two championship events when things didn´t go his way; sound reappearance run in over 2m in the Fighting Fifth, and likely to have come on for the race; any rain would be in his favour, but cango from the front and very much one with a chance.

CHELTENHAM

3.45

FOOTBALL CRAZY

3/1

Improved markedly for Peter Bowen from May onwards, but hasn´t run up to his best on soft last three starts (might also be feeling the effects of his busy campaign); good chance on BHB ratings, stays 3m and this better ground will suit, so unwise to write off completely.

CHELTENHAM3.45FOOTBALL CRAZY 3/1
Couldn't split Yankeedoodledandy or Napolitain (2 against the field perhaps) whilst the others didn't appeal too much, or I wasn't confident, including the two longer priced efforts. Two non-runners in the shortlist didn't help matters much either with both St Pirran (was likely to get in) and Mossman George (doubtful) both being removed from their races. All in all this could be an interesting day. Kevin

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven One of those days Kev, it's how it goes, like this for example. Theres a few of us at work who like a bet, every four weeks we work Saturday & we chuck a fiver in the hat & with the £45 we do a £2 lucky 15 & the other £15 on a single or two, any winnings we keep for our race trip to York. This week theres three lads in the draw to see who picks the bets, the one who wins the draw picks no winners, one of the other two lads decides he'll have a 20p lucky 15 of his own. Yankeedoodledandy, Control Man, Monkerhostin & Back in Front all win & he cops £150+ for £3, if he'd come out in the draw & picked those the syndicate would have had over £1500 to come :sad Just to top it off the one I backed Massac fell & broke it's neck. Theres always next week, Rio.

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven Unlucky last week eh Rio! Anyway, I'm starting (already) at looking at tomorrow (day off on Sunday thank God), and there's again an initial shortlist of 15, which are all detailed below. Some have forecast prices, some don't, and the last (Grande Creole) doesn't (as yet) have a Racing Post spotlight view. Again, apologies for the crap formatting!

COURSETIMESELECTIONSPOTLIGHTRPF
HAYDOCK12.35ROMAN ARKWon´t mind any more rain, as both bumper and novice hurdle successes came on heavy; form of latter given timely boost by fourth-placed Stan on Thursday and rated a decent long-term chasing prospect by trainer; bound to go well but could be vulnerable under penalty.
WINDSOR12.50LOUP CHARTERWinner on the Flat in France and successful start over hurdles when benefitting from the leader´s fall to win at Exeter last month (2m3f); 6lb better for just over 2.5l with Reflected Glory on subsequent Lingfield form in a muddling 2m7f novice and, withthis easier than the Grade 2 race he was beaten in last time, is a leading player. 5/1
WINDSOR12.50REFLECTED GLORYWon the second of two runs in points and winning start under Rules in a steadily-run 2m7f Lingfield novice last month; now 6lb worse off with the third, Loup Glory, but took a bit of a hold early and idled in front, so may be capable of pulling out a bitmore this time; leading contender. 9/4
WARWICK1.00NORMA HILLLikes to make all and well suited to the tight tracks when scoring at Ludlow and Hereford; Cheltenham found her out in between and now has to bounce back from a nasty experience last time, but had looked progressive and just about sets the standard here. 9/2
LINGFIELD1.05NANTONConsistent performer who ran right up to best when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton on latest start; more to do conceding weight all round but no surprise to see him give another good account. 5/1
NEWCASTLE1.15ARCALISSmart handicapper on the Flat who jumped well when making a winning debut over hurdles at Ayr despite the ground being softer than ideal; meets the runner-up Terlan on 6lb worse terms, but expected to confirm the form and very much the one to beat. 2/7
WINDSOR1.25MY WILLVery smart as juvenile hurdler; impressive over fences at Market Rasen and Warwick but two setbacks at Cheltenham, where he unseated at the first in October and was readily outpointed, albeit by class acts Fundamentalist and Contraband, on good ground latest; acts on soft and worth this first crack at 2m4f; receives weight and is major contender.
WARWICK1.30HEIR TO BESolid stayer on the Flat for John Dunlop and hard to fault to date over hurdles, winning decisively over a trip (2m5f) plenty short enough here last time, accounting for two previous bumper winners in the process; sure to be popular and rightly so. 10/11
WINDSOR1.55TIKRAMJumping hasn´t been up to scratch over Cheltenham´s demanding fences in top handicaps this season but still ran creditably when fifth in the Tripleprint Gold Cup last week, staying on into fifth in a manner which raised hopes that 3m will be within range; acts on soft and, off 2lb lower in less competitive race than last time, could be a factor.
WARWICK2.05CHAMPAGNE HARRYDisappointingly beaten on all three chase starts this season, well below the smart form he showed as a staying novice hurdler last term; has time on his side and should improve, but has looked anything but a natural thus far and conditions could be troublesome as best efforts have come on decent ground, in keeping with many of his relatives. 15/8
LINGFIELD2.05JACK SULLIVANGelded and improved effort to win strong handicap over 7f (holds Lygeton Lad) at this course on latest start; effective over this longer trip, may be capable of better and hard to beat on these terms. 8/11
WARWICK2.05SONEVAFUSHIDecent hurdler who has taken well to chasing, though tends to win easily or not at all and didn´t appear to find a huge amount for pressure when turned over at prohibitive odds at Fakenham last time (conqueror beaten since in a handicap off just 100); this task looks a good deal tougher so opposable under his penalty. 9/2
WARWICK2.35VICARS DESTINYNeeds this sort of trip nowadays but no excuses when never really a factor at Market Rasen last time and looks harshly assessed at present, 11lb higher than when last successful in May; cheekpieces reapplied but similar level of form with and without them.
HAYDOCK3.15RICO HOMBREWeak last year but still managed to win a Fontwell bumper (form not bad without being startling) and has been described by trainer as an exciting prospect, so must be watched closely in market. 10/3
WINDSOR3.35GRANDE CREOLE

Re: manckevin's Saturday Seven Well I’ve had a look at todays fare & I have to say it’s the worst racing I’ve seen on a Saturday for some time, nothing appeals to me at all & I’ll not be betting today. If you have a go today all the best I’m going to wait for Boxing day

Cheers, Rio.
