2damnhype
Thought this thread could cover the PGA and Euro Tours. PGA Tour For me this is a week of keeping the powder dry and just having a bit of an interest bet. Next week begins what should be a great 4 week run - Bay Hill through to The Masters. Honda Classic, this tournament is to be played on a new course, so finding a winner is made difficult. From the limited information I have read, it is seen as a putters course, after a look through this seasons stats I am gonna back Mark Calcavecchia . He has had a steady start to the season, last week's ninth place is encouraging and he is performing with the putter. Davis Love is the predictable fav after his performances earlier this season, and David Toms went some way last week to proving that he is responding from off season surgery
Guest Yer Man
Honda Classic Coming of the back of another chinning, thats three in the last twelve months Verplank 33/1 last week that clown Bjorn at 88/1 at the Open and Chad Campbell @80/1 in PGA Open. Havent had an outright winner for ages. With new course and bermuda grass would be looking at Florida specialists of which Big Calcs is one . Saw the way Mickleson etc played on the greens last week and these greens are a great leveler. Love is the form horse in this field but is too short a price for me shortlist would be Chad Campbell, Durant and Herron. None of them setting the tour alight this year (either has been Parry). Thought Langer finished with three good rounds last week and liked the way he played. So looking at Durant ew Campbell and Langer top 5 need to look at the odds. Over in Quatar we have a pretty weakened field with Davis leading the betting. Fancy Howell ew (plays well on this course and in form) and Soren Hansen place ( coming to form and has resonable record in this tournament)
Guest Yer Man
I've bottled it New Course , no history will wait to next week so having bet on Langer 6/1 to finish top ten. Also Correction for Quatar I am taking ANDERS Hanson 13/2 to finish top 5 not the other Soren Hansen. Some interesting three balls in America would be interseted in some or all of these AMES 6/5 Sindelar Mayfair LOVE 4/5 Donald Kuchar FLESH 1/1 Sutton Mattiace HERRON 7/5 Penrice McCarron HOWELL5/4 Couples Norman CAMPBELL 1/1 Armour Sluman CALCAVECCHIA 6/4 O'Meara Funk ALL with PP Fancy 1x4 4x3 off Campbell Calcavecchia Flesh and Ames Any thoughs would be appreciated
2damnhype
Re: I've bottled it Calc withdrew - should have looked it up from a couple of weeks ago. :banghead Picking the winners against a field of 100+ is difficult, which is why when the bigger tournaments come its worth looking at the matches and groups. The hard thing though is having the time to look through all the bookies and stats as the 'oddcheckers' don't cover them.
