Hi all, just a quick question. I just looked at the betfair prices for the Grand National and there are 83 selections. Surely all these cant be running? If not, what would be the best way of tracking who is going to run. Also if i place a bet on them now and they dont run, will i get my stake back from betfair? Thanks. Adam

Re: Grand National No, there is a maximum of 40 runners, these will be the highest rated 40 runners when the weights are announced. You will find that even when the weights are announced there will be many top defections. I am fairly sure that Betfair will be the same as bookmakers with regards to the National, any ante-post bets made will be lost if there is no runner. Closer to the races, most places go NRNB (Non Runner No Bet) but this far in advance that won't happen.
