Re: Australian class and handicap classifications (help)

Hi :) can anyone help with Australian horse race classifications? class classifications is similar UK racing horse? i see handicap 60-82... what's 60-82? official ratings? thx :beer
60-82 refers to the handicap ratings, yes, like the Irish system. For example today the 2.15 at the Curragh was labelled 50-80 which means any horse rated within that range is elligible to enter. It stops Group horses (rated 100+) coming in and winning the race with ease, and prevents donkeys rated 39-45 etc running, but standing no chance of winning. It is possible to find the OR bands for English races by going on the Racing Post site and ticking the box for 'race conditions' under the race title. :ok
