3.35 Newmarket Noble Citizen looks a good price here after only going down by three quarters of a length off this mark last time out, a race in which jockey Stephen Donohoe saw his whip knocked out of his hand when his mount had every chance 100 yards out. With that in mind, although he is 9 lbs above his last winning mark, he has evidently since improved. He placed in a couple of races over in Dubai in February and following that, was thrown back into handicaps on 98. That proved too high, but the handicapper has cut him some slack and this 4 yo gelding may go well again off 90. EW

Re: Best bet of the day - 8th Aug Spiekeroog 5.30 Haydock Went close at Pontefract behind Shemoli and then followed up with a 7 length win next time out when stepped up in trip. Seems to get better the further it goes and was going away last time out, winning really comfortably. Form is nothing special but travels well and then does find something off the bridle. Form took a knock when Shemoli was only 4th next time out but still improving and I like the fact Eddie Ahern is on board today. Ground and trip should be fine and anything around 4's would be worth taking.
