Burnley Joe Posted July 7, 2009 Share Posted July 7, 2009 FTOPS Tournament Series XIII Announced FT Poker have now released details and a schedule for the thirteenth incarnation of their Full Tilt Series of Poker (FTOPS) online tournament series. In the last series the tournaments missed several guarantees when the mini-FTOPS series, a smaller buy-in collection of tournaments running in tandem with the large events, was introduced. Despite this, remain optimistic and are guaranteeing a prize pool of $25,000,000 across the 25 events being held. The series begins on August 5 and runs for ten days. Once again the series will feature the final weekend’s two-day short-handed “high roller†event with a $2,620 buy-in and a $2 million guaranteed prize purse, and of course the main event itself, which begins on Aug. 16 and offers a $2.5 million pool for its $535 entry fee. I'd heard horror stories about the lag on there, but whilst I had a little bit - cpl seconds after I act - it was manageable. The last twice I have played on there though it has been horrendous. My screen literally freezes until I have about 5 seconds to act (I don't see my cards, other's bets, the community cards, anything, until it is me to act) then after my action, the same again until I have 5 seconds left of my next decision. Have managed to qualify for 2 of the tournies so far. A $24 satellite late last week ended with entry earned into event 2. LAst night with the wife at work and the baby asleep (!) I slipped into Event 20. Then had a crack to gain a $50 turbo sat seat which was also successful. Ran soooo lucky it was sik.
